Ehhh. Let me start with saying, Kim is one of the greatest singers of all time. I’ve been blessed to meet & speak with Kim numerous times, and each time, she was nothing but kind to me. However, Kim can be a bit much. It’s almost like you never know which Kim you’re gonna get; the nice Kim, or the rude Kim. I can hardly watch her now because I’m afraid I’ll experience the Kim that says & does the wrong things with no remorse. She doesn’t when to hold, and when to fold.

I feel the same way, because as I edited this footage I considered taking out the beginning, because someone can easily take out the scripture she referenced and just post the first minute which makes her sound very arrogant. As a person who has gotten in trouble with sound bites of things "misunderstood" seems she would season every comment with clarity so it won't happen again. None the less, like you, I respect the gift in her and do think she spoke truth.

At this point, we know who Kim is. Who she is, is not wrong, it’s just not for everybody. To expect her to be someone else or still act surprised just simply doesn’t make any sense. I think we have this crazy idea that if you’re not meek, quiet, and soft, you’re not the shining image of Christianity. She’s from the old school holiness style delivery. Love it or leave it but stop criticizing it.

Please stop using God's pulpit to throw shade and shame people. I thought the purpose of church was to worship God not self edification. Can someone please tell me (without taking the scripture out of its contents) where in the Bible does GOD say a musician must be skilled and anointed? It's unfortunate that giving God your best does not meet the standards of people who think they speak for GOD. People are starting to understand that having a Relationship (which connects you with God) is more important than being a part of a Religion (which divides people) who believe in God. Shame on you!

...from what I heard in this video clip, I totally agree with what she is saying, I get the concept of what she's trying to get her audience to understand, and I actually agree with what I heard so far here...a lot of us we have these same conversations with one another rather than being able to say it directly to those who have the authority to do something about it because we're afraid of offending them and others, and we don't want to appear to be complaining or gossiping. She just had the confidence to say it...However, I can see how the way she delivers the truth can be perceived as being arrogant or having some pride but the message is still true and can be used to elevate the hearers if they receive it in truth and love and not rejection. Also, maybe she can also work on saying things that are true and offensive with more and more of God's love, it won't hurt anything, the bible says tell the truth in love, not that she's not but maybe she can work a little more in that area, and so can we all. And we can pray to God on her behalf concerning this.

The way she communicates can be abrasive at time but I never hear the whole message only clips. My comment is based off what I’ve seen on social media. The truth is the truth but it can be said in love.

So during the growth period there’s not mistakes. Brother do you really believe God only has a few that does what she does? Look at China , Russia , India , Japan , Africa, Thailand , Italy ,Cuba, The underground Churches (China , North Korea , Sudan, Russia) where you hear about the manifest presence of God? Colossians tells us to teach one another in song and hymns and spiritual songs. So the songs have to line up with the Word.

I heard you take this scripture out of text several time Kim so shouldn’t you sit down, you were operating in the prophetic so how could God make an error 1 Cor 2:9 eyes have not seen nor ear heard , neither have entered into the heart of man….. etc but you forgot about vs 10 But God has revealed them unto us through his Spirit . You should read that entire Chapt. The reason this is the most misquoted and preached on passage in error because the devil wants us ignorant because it goes into the Ministry of the Holy Spirit
Kim definitely has a way with her delivery. Yes she comes off as being quite arrogant but there was a lot of truth in what she said again her delivery is very abrasive. Jesus said with love and kindness have I drawn thee not by being brawl beatin. He took the whipping for all humanity we don't have to be whipped. Persecuted maybe but not whooped.
Very good points, she’s definitely has a mix of old school “matter of fact/holiness or hell” & grace at times. Seems she would be different after the way the media “misconstrued” her words, but she keeps saying them. I agree with Kim 100%, this is ole school teaching back in the day they told you the truth yes it probably hurt your feelings but you took their wisdom and did better. My opinion is an all A student has different standards and expectation than someone who is C-average or below which transpose in their lives as adults. Some people are okay with "just getting by or barely getting by" and others "demands 100% excellence with the understanding of human errors" but they do not intentionally or carelessly live in error! We all know someone who live by the code "IDGAF" in every aspect of their lives and their environment reflects that mindset. Nonetheless, the bible says, "Finally, brothers, whatever is true, whatever is noble, whatever is right, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is admirable-if anything is excellent or praiseworthy-think about such things. Whatever you have learned or received or heard from me, or seen in me-put it into practice." Philippians 4:4-9
She's so very special indeed. Nobody is perfect. Folks conflate her alleged "ugliness" with their expectations of her presumed Christian pious nature. She's an insanely gifted woman. Who happened to cultivate her gift along with nearly every secular singer on this planet, in church. The fact that secular artists who love on Kim AND hire her to collaborate is no small feat. It's just the church folks who feel some type of way about her movements and motivations. And people like to have it both ways; they're tangentially connected to the church or have personal contradictions regarding how to walk in righteousness. And it's simpler to blame a Black woman than it is to blame which is often Black men who are leading ministry. As someone mentioned in the comments; " it must be hard being a woman and a talented one at that in the church." Musical artists are flawed and imperfect people, NO MATTER what they sing or compose or the genre. I'm sure Kim Burrell is both things to those around her, she's perfectly human but it doesn't require a social media campaign to ruin her. Secular artists are permitted to drop it like it's hot, twerk, drank, twerk and drank some mo. And drank, and drank and get into some stank along the way. But can still claim Jesus when they want to ( Snoop Dog, Beyonce) to name a few. But Kim has to be the face of the awful and ugly of Christian music and ministry?! Moving forward; I really want to know WHO would play Kim Burrell in a TV movie? I think we need to cultivate some new triple threat Black female talent to ensure the candidate is excellent. Go Kim go. Cuz, the artistry is g-i-v-i-n-g what we need to hear.
understood, lots of comments on past videos have been saying similar. They love her voice, but her words sometimes offend. Granted that is the heart of the old school pastors, who used to say hurtful things, but the church members didn't realize they had a right to stand against being hurt by the man or woman of God.

She’s speaking the truth in the matter of certain people wanting to do certain things in church. But aren’t gifted or ready to do so. I’ve experienced people saying to me. Just let me do it. Nooo this is a reflection of our whole church. How we do things.
