Kim Burrell must be studied, lol, the random...I mean, has she ever sang a song the same twice? We've heard this song 5 zillion times and yet.......... When Kim Burrell puts her brains to the music it's another kind of thing all together. No matter where she shows up in media singing, she's a WHOLE musical moment. She's that sanger's sanger.

@@theSpiritofSeep have only by the grace of the RU-vid algorithm, lol, did an advertisement for a Christmas celebration hosted by Donnie McClurkin did I snag a ticket to see her. It was a mixed crowd, Black and White, primarily non COGIC, Holyghost fired up crowd, so she was veeeerry restrained. She looked amazing. But those of us who never get to see her, soaked in everything she sang.

Ohhh she BEEN sangin!!!! Folks sleep for sure if they JUST NOW finding out! I’m here reminiscing. Her voice along with Karen Clark is UNMATCHED!!!! For sure.

Agreed. Can I get a master class in Whoop Upside the Head. The approach. The usage of ALL the textures of one's voice, up and down the scale. And always keeping an eyeball on the accompanist.... From the video we can't see him and can't quite see what Kim is signaling to him but... she took the reigns of that improvisation to UNUTHU level. I played that last vocal dismount, when you witness the background singers faces flush with awe like, " what the what did she just do?"
