Kim Jung Gi Watercolor Painting 

Kim Jung Gi: I'm going to do a watercolour painting. Also Kim Jung Gi: Forget about the watercolour, I am going to draw with my brushes.

I loved this video and I love Kim! He doesn't give a shit about giving what is called as a "quick tip". Learning is a process which takes time, time you put into studying theory but also time you spend applying it, practicing it and mastering it. Quick tips are just clickbait stuff that makes your brain feel good, because you "learned" something. But actually in my opinion the best learning comes from studying, and studying the artists you love. And THATS WHY, this video inspired me a lot, because I got to see this beast of an artist paint a whole character in 28 minutes! I got to observe the way he uses his brush, I got to observe how he thinks about color, and shading. And also I heard him talking about how he thinks you should approach painting. All this knowledge came by observing him just paint. And that's something I extremely appreciate and enjoy ❤ Thanks for the guys who made this video and thanks Kim for being yourself and teaching well 🙏

3 things: 1. Isnt he alwaays using watercolor in a way, cuz he draws with brushpens and they are watercolor(mostly) 2. You guys are amazing ! in your last video somebody told you he would prefer subtitle and now you did that, that is very nice of you. 3. Last time i asked if you could make a video about Terada and how he draws and you hearted my comment, does that mean there will be a video about him ?

From what I can gather, the way he paints is actually the manipulation of the negative space, and there's a reason why I think that watercolour drawing is probably easier to the Master: he doesn't just have the white of the page. When he sketches with a pen, he is forced to add details around the form, ie the tubes and dohickeys of a suit, to create the image but with watercolour, he can just add a huge swab of paint to indicate form first, and then add details to it. It's very similar to how us plebs would use pencil to sketch out a skeleton first before adding details to it!

I would honestly love to see more watercolor related videos from KJG! Seeing him handle color in a drawing like approach is really interesting,

That’s an extremely versatile brush. Kolinsky I think. Kim truly gives the materials he uses justice. Exquisite how aligned he is with his subject, just flow, no struggle. No subject. Just his extension of mind… crazy. I want to get there, one day. No struggle in materialising.

I really would like to know how people get such vibrant paint and how they get so much dang water into the brush. Seeing him slap the torso and arms and hands on such a big canvas and still havin enough water to start the legs is crazy to me. Its like every single water color video i watch was filmed in a different dimension with different laws of physics to make the things they do possible. Either that or there is some excessively fundamental thing that i still haven't ran across in all the videos ive watched. Like seriously, I can gussy up that dang brush up in such a vast quantity of water and its bone dry in like a 1 second swipe of it in the canvas. I dont get it.
