I was once given a book 4 my bday called "Nice Girls Don't Get Rich" by Lois P. Frankel, PhD. I never read it as I don't want to be that type of woman. However, whenever I think of Kim, my mind automatically refers back to this book. She is the epitome of narcissism, cruelness, and shallowness! Now she has started this new look of being super thin, in your 40s, after you've had children. Her body is unattainable for most of us peasants.

I am generally the same age as Kim, give or take a couple years… I can remember way back when in the late 90’s and early 00’s when Paris and Nicole were huge, Heidi and Spencer were talked about, the Hill’s was crazy popular, and no one knew who Kim K was… what a time to be alive. Fast forward 20+ years and the youth of today are so incredibly different. I’ve apparently turned into that old lady that all ‘when I was your age!!!’ 😂

I heard about the “home video” tape backstory and voicemail couple weeks back and I must say it’s not completely surprising. I just assume these people are materialistic and un-genuine. It’s a shame because as you say they could do so much good with their platform and yet they choose to create fake personas and bodies. Oh well, I’ll be sure to teach my own young daughter to have better idols.

I think Kanye helped turn Kim and her family into fashion icons, he moved them away from that trashy reality tv fame and solidified their careers. (kanye has gone off the rocks now but it's worth noting that him and Kim divorced after her career had become more professional)

One things for certain...if Robert Senior was still alive, that sex tape would have never happened and Kris wouldn't have been able to really sink her claws into those kids of hers and then who knows whom the Kardashians would have been if they had an actual role model for a parent instead of a master manipulator that exploited her children to gain "fame and glory." And with Kris, any attention is good attention..she made a name off of sleeping around behind her hubby's back with every celebrity in Hollywood.. a high class callgirl, if you will.

Those videos of her as a teen - she looks pretty insufferable... but props to her for achieving her goals in life. No issue with her cosmetic surgery (alleged) but I wish she would just be honest about it instead of lying to people. Anyone with eyes and half a brain cell can see that figure didn't 'just happen' by nature or exercise - and that's ok. It's the pretending everyone can have the same by just exercising and taking this or that product that I despise. Just be honest!

Stop letting these people influence you! You have to give people permission to influence you. Know your worth. Have your standards. Admire people who make you and others into better people, not manipulative narcissists. I'm sorry, but Kim isn't iconic or comparable to Marylin Monroe! Marylin had talent! She was an actress and singer and wanted to be taken seriously! A lot of her problems arose from that... she was exploited for her body and her looks. Some might say she knew and also went along, but I think that at that time, she really didn't know what she was getting into... Kim, on the other hand, has done nothing but use her looks and body to achieve fame and fortune. It still baffles me why she is so famous. It's sad and says a lot about our culture! 🤷‍♀️

Kim Kardashian makes me question how we look at past icons. Especially with the ongoing exploitation of Marlyn Monroe and other women of the Entertainment history. Society and individuals seem to not be able to see these women in a grey light. They are either a exploited victim or a gold digger. Perhaps they were both. They chose to give up a lot of themselves (privacy, some society principles/morals) in exchange for fame and some nasty people took advantage of that desire for fame.
