When I was in elementary and middle school many of my friends were allowed to phones and social media while I was not. My parents did not give me a “phone” till I was 12 and I was not allowed to have social media. I’m still not. At the time, it made me angry and jealous. Now that I’m more mature, I thank my parents for not allowing me to consume this sort of media.
I was never a fan of these filler girls and BBL girls. I even tried to convince a friend of mine that it's not a good idea and that she already looks good but then she got mad at me. Everyone is telling girls that "yassss do it queeeeen" stuff to appear more likeable to them and this is one of the results.
That Jimmy Kimmel interview was PAINFUL. It was immediately clear that neither of them had any idea what was in that book. Jimmy isnt the best interviewer in general, but god. Those girls had like, anti-charisma in thst interview
Got fillers done once 2 years ago for free because I worked at a plastic surgeons office and it was like a reward for working there for a year. When I say my filler is STILL there, I’m not kidding. It does migrate and forms back into a ball like lump that I have to massage out and I’m just so glad I didn’t get more. My side profile will never look the same and I quickly realized I needed to leave this industry (as a career) otherwise I would get addicted fast.
I've never used fillers, but my girlfriends who insist on it, I advise to see an aesthetician who'd been trained as a dentist. Up to a certain point, the training to be a dentist is exactly the same as to be a facial/plastic surgeon. So at least we know that their injector is an expert and will not place filler in an area which is going to cause problems in future. If you have to do it at least be safe as you can.
I can't speak for anyone else, but personally I find the Kardashian-Jenners' shortcomings amusing because none of them have any real talents to speak of. They've all made careers of being living Barbie dolls, & cashed in bigtime while they were young & attractive (thanks to hundreds of thousands of dollars' worth of cosmetic procedures). But they're completely unrelatable & clearly have no worthwhile achievements.
I did a report on plastic surgery in high school (around 15 years old), and found so many horror stories of surgeries gone wrong. I made a personal vow never to let a needle or knife come in contact with myself for cosmetic reasons. It's now lots and lots of years later, and I've kept that promise. I'm just gonna live with what God gave me - I may not be perfect, but it's so much better than the alternatives.
I think changing the wording you use like “suffers with acne” could also help to change the perspective on it. Just as easy to say: “She had/has acne” “they experience breakouts”…Just a thought:)
I've had 3ml injected into my lips over 2 years and stopped in 2022. I'm definitely seeing some migration but am horrified of dissolving. I already live with neurological symptoms (suspected MS) and I've read about injection dissolver causing nerve damage in the face. Soooo I'm learning to love my little bit of migration
Glad I never had the money because years ago I probably would have, had I had easy access. Now I have the money and know better. Sad for young ppl who have the access because they make the same mistake I would have.
I was aware that the “permanent” silicone filler could not dissolve and could mitigate…but the “temporary” filler migrating and lasting forever? News to me!
I have a little bit of lip filler, & a little bit of Botox. But that's the key- it's a LITTLE BIT. It looks very natural. I can see how easy it would be to get the idea that if a little is good, then more must be better- but all one needs to do to steer themselves away from that trap, is to look @ the IGs & YT channels of beauty influencers, the Kardashians, etc. People start looking really crazy, when they overdo it. Plus, the idea that you need to go back every 6-9mos for top-ups on filler is just false- I got 1mL of filler 3.5yrs ago & it still is very much present & hasn't migrated. But I feel like people can easily avoid overfilling, by periodically evaluating their features w/ an honest & objective eye.
