What does the immediate future have in store for my DVD overview channel now that I’ve finished my runthrough of the Phineas and Ferb DVDs in my collection?
Well, since making those P&F videos have put me in the right mood to do so, I'll be showcasing the DVDs I have of all the OTHER television shows produced by Disney to celebrate Disney Channel's 40th anniversary on April 18, 2023!
I am going through all my collection in the order in which the shows featured on them made their television premiere, divided into three categories: Disney Television Animation productions, live-action Disney shows, and programs not made by Disney that aired in most countries on and are widely associated with Disney’s networks. It's sure to be a MAGICALLY good time!
After a six-week hiatus caused by a special upload marathon consisting of the entire contents for four discs each from shows owned by Corus Entertainment and/or WildBrain, my “Disney television show DVD overview” video series is officially back! To celebrate Women’s History Month, it’s now time to cover the DVD releases I own of the series focused on the action-loving lady who more than lives up to her last name of the opposite of impossible! I do not currently own either of the two season DVD box sets of Kim Possible from 2010, but I DO have all of the single-disc DVD releases of the series that were put out when the show was still premiering new episodes on Disney Channel, bundled together in a 4-pack titled “Kim Possible: The Classic Animated Series” that was released on February 3, 2019 as a tie-in promotion for the show’s then-upcoming live-action DCOM (which also has a DVD release, but I don’t own that disc for obvious reasons).
Since we took a look at the first of Kim Possible’s “Best of” single-disc DVD releases in the previous video, I figured that the natural choice for the next K.P. disc to cover is the show’s second and final episode compilation disc: The Villain Files, which was originally released on December 7, 2004, almost exactly one year after its direct predecessor. The similarities don’t stop there, though: it too contains a total of four standard episodes, a gallery giving stats on Kim’s villains disguised as a “game”, and a music video; only this time, the fourth episode is considered part of the main feature and not a so-called “extra”, meaning that it’s also part of the VHS version of the same title. Also, this time the gallery’s menus are themed to a house party that Kim is crashing in her invisible suit, meaning that you get to see all of K.P.’s foes through her eyes like you’re a tiny person in her brain (kind of like what the DVD game included as a bonus on the Kronk’s New Groove DVD did with everybody’s favorite lunk-headed brawn). Once again, the “game” couldn’t play properly on my PC past the opening, but I was able to get everything else working fine. There is another notable difference between the aesthetic of the two K.P. compilation discs, but I’ll get into that part a little later.
Here’s a list of everything you’ll find in this overview of Kim Possible’s Villain Files DVD…
OPENING:
1.) FBI Warnings
2.) Walt Disney Home Entertainment logo (2001-07) (encoded in 1.66:1 widescreen, which made sense with the last K.P. disc, but doesn’t here for a reason I’ll get into later)
3.) Bambi: Special (Platinum) Edition DVD commercial
4.) That’s So Raven VHS and DVD promo
5.) Where the Red Fern Grows DVD ad
6.) Mulan II DVD trailer
7.) Main menu
8.) Disney DVD logo (2001-05)
9.) Kim Possible intro (not extended for this release, but does have its own custom variant of the show’s logo at the end)
10.) Start of the episode “Blush”
CLOSING:
1.) End of the episode “Showdown at the Crooked D.”
2.) Closing credits, jumbling the credits for each of the three episodes from the main feature into one set (oddly, the Walt Disney Television/Buena Vista International logo combo normally seen only on PAL prints of the series is used at the end)
3.) DVD menu walkthrough
4.) Opening menu for the “Villain House Party” gallery (again, sadly couldn’t get past the first menu screen for this “game” on my PC)
5.) Music video: “It’s Just You” by LMNT
6.) The Cheetah Girls VHS and DVD promo
Unfortunately, unlike Kim Possible’s previous compilation DVD, this disc has all its episodes cropped to 4x3, matching the aspect ratio of the show’s original Disney Channel broadcasts.
That’s it! Next time, the sitch is that we’re going to be taking a deep dive back in K.P.’s past for the DVD release of the first of her two made-for-TV movies (that don’t involve any awkwardly-written live-action).
DISCLAIMER: This video is NOT made specifically for kids, but for EVERYBODY.

@Jason’s DVD Openings and Menu Showcases! To be honest with you, this DVD would have been presented in 1.66:1 anamorphic widescreen just like DVD of The Secret Files.
