Kim's Cash Flow: The Brutal Money System of North Korea | Bureau 39 | ENDEVR Documentary
How is it possible that North Korea, one of the poorest countries on earth finances a nuclear weapons programme large enough to challenge the USA? The answer: Bureau 39, a legendary organization nestled deep inside the government apparatus. Its aim is to procure foreign exchange by any means possible to provide Kim Jong-un’s regime with money.
Printing dollars, dealing drugs, smuggling arms, insurance fraud, human trafficking - nothing is too unscrupulous for North Korea’s money makers.
Years of research have given us unique access to insiders. They reveal the most spectacular cases and breath-taking tricks of how North Korea has been circumventing UN sanctions to finance its nuclear arsenal for decades.

does it NOT bother you how INDISCREET the producers are re: how INCONSISTENT they are regarding 'protecting' the IDENTITY of those who are/have been slaves and/or escapees from the NORTH KOREAN dictatorship/regime?? I just do NOT GET how you & so MANY OTHERS have MISSED the producers' LACK OF CARING for the SAFETY of those who so *generously agreed* to be a part of this doco. so, really, you, too, are not only breaking my heart as a random viewer but you're *also* supporting the lack of caring of this channel's lackadaisical attitude re: the SAFETY of their interviewees. you're supporting their lack of caring about the safety of far too many of this documentary's participants. why are you like this?? WHY are you so MUCH like THEM??
@JerryListener

Do you need a moment? If everyone stays safe and quiet, the brutality and lack of freedoms will never end. If enough people have had enough, change will be enacted. Without change the abuse continues. I'd do what many others have done before and spread the message, not hide like a scared little mouse. Maybe that's how your government keeps you under control, but not me or others like me. Risk happens before you wake up and continues while you slumber.

Before mainland China was formally opened up to doing business with the outside world, back in 1972, many products bought in the USA said, “Made in Hong Kong”. They were probably made in China. The USA is probably buying products made in North Korea, one way or another, in the same manner.

Yessir, which is why I stress to people always - boycotting China goods is not Sinophobic/racist, as it is not done to spite the citizens, but the evil of the gov there. Buying Chinese is basically funding the bullets they would shoot us with. Example, I buy high-end tools, and I have no problem w/ Asian made, my Taiwanese and Japanese (free countres) tools are great, so are my Swiss, French, and American ones, so it is not a "Western only" thing.

Because in theory you sanction them from trade and eventually they’re forced to negotiate since without trade as a nation you have no money. And if that happens you avoid a true war abs death and accomplish your end goal. Obviously it can be futile if outside parties ignore the sanctions and trade with them anyways.

@hzhang1228
@hzhang1228 Год назад
the quality of life is steadily increasing even if they are poor. you have to look at where they started. an "oppressive" regime is actually more stable than a more free form of government, which the reason they pop up during times of chaos and instability. if they were to end it would be the will of other nations. that is the reality unless you believe in some form ideological version of the world. in reality for people to revolt they would have to be on the brink of death with nothing to lose, and starvation is old news for N Korea. this is why they will be relentless in their pursuit of nuclear arms as the US showed what would happen if they did not, although ofc N Korea sits at a more geopolitically better position.

It didn't happen in the 90's, the time of massive famine, so it's less likely now. North Korea is an efficient repressive machine. As long as it manages to guarantee funding, and the geopolitics doesn't change, it's going to be this way in the future.
