Top or Cliff was inspired by Black Swan as she mentioned. Her staff were her inner demons and shes basically destroying herself in order to get to the top and the little girl represents her innocence that she wanted to protect. She wants everything to be perfect and her staff's mistakes makes her think that they are against her. This is her being a perfectionist. In the end it was revealed that she was just fighting against herself and it eventually led to madness. Hope this helps!
