Gosh her humility and fragility as a young woman growing into her scary chosen career is amazing to watch - it’s so real! Such a contrast with the brash certain that they’re loved arrogant types of young pop stars we see so much of today 🙄
Personally, I think the early days of Kim were the best👍💿 The 80's was and still is the best decade for music, fashion and telly👊 And I enjoyed watching this footage, stunning! 🤩

This documentary shows how awesome of a person Kim is. Shes quite similar too me, being down to earth and enjoying a bit of alone time with herself and family. Kim became someone I look up too only a couple years ago when i discovered her music and what she did for others with mental disability or people in need of help. Kim did help me to deal with my own mental issues, as my life was falling apart a couple years ago. Discovering Kim got rid of some of my anxiety and set my mind at peace, allowing me to Have a lot of success and happiness in my life since then. Unfortunately missed out on her good years, since i wasn't born until 1998 :(
TheBGod18 Listening to her music helped lift my spirits in difficult times in my life when nothing else would. My friend's death. My father's death. Other difficult times too. Her music even helps me unwind. Been a while but after a rough week or rough month, I'd turn out the lights, turn on a black light or open my curtains to let the moonlight in. I'd lay in bed, relax, clear my thoughts, and listen to her music. I'd have my eyes closed most of the time while I listened and it would totally make me feel new again. Almost like being on a nice, getaway vacation. I'd feel rejuvenated afterwards. I need to do it again soon.
Yes I agree with this, I usually listen to music sometimes when I sleep... Kim's music makes me fall asleep (In an good way). There's a song for every emotion and everything in between.
Back in the 80s, the media tended to portray the music industry as glamourous and exciting. This film revealed that was far from the case. Still, good to see she went on the great things, like sing with Mel Smith!

Kim doesn't need to be posh and buying fancy clothes to be GREAT on stage🤩 Unlike 2022 artists she still rocks and is classy without special effects of taking her clothes off. She can do that👍 In this footage she's a natural.....very well done for the very first gigs👊

How can I say it? I think Kim was different to other famous singers at that time. She seemed to be down to earth, genuine and positive, the way she interacted with her family gives the impression she was a good person who knowed how to enjoy the life. I born in 2000, what a shame, I wish I can travel to the past to view one of her concerts.
What perplexes me is that all of this is now just an archive, a fun record of a high-class past, in Brazil at the time of the 80s Kim Wilde was practically unknown, today I have contact with these internet archives about her gives me an impression of a mythological figure. Would be good, but we probably wouldn't see any of Kim's early 80s music..... she would start in the 90s which was different than the previous decade. A few genres of music would have died out by then.

Кстати, к сожалению уже давненько покойный Александр Барыкин в альбоме "Ступени" 1985 года много стиля музыки у дебютного альбома Kim Wilde 1981 взял.2) Ну более роковая, даже почти металлические, это Лита Форд(правда тоже в конце 80-вх на глэм перешла), но особенно немецкая Доро Пеш, там больше металла, чем рока. Правда много позаимствовала у своих земляков из "Accept" и "Helloween". Я меломан и все слушаю, кроме дёшевой попсы(но Ким к этому не относится , понятное дело), рэпа и шансона. Все:от ABBA до Sepultura. Вот Мадонну никогда не любил и не люблю
Если бы так осталось, то это была бы не Ким, а Сюзи Кватро-2. Хотя с эллементами Blondie. А ведь сама Blondie делала закос под Uriah Heep-Return to fantasy 1975 года. Ну можно было бы, чтобы Ким утяжелила немного стиль начала 80-ых, начатый ею. То это уже было бы что-то в духе Литы Форт 1988 года.

Ох жаль , начало 1980-ых: ABBA, Arabesqe(где Сандра начинала профессионально петь), ну и прекрасная юная, но взрослая уже Кимберли Смит(Увайлд). Мне нравятся ее первые два альбома 1981/82 годов(1983 и 1984 - не мое) и потом 1986 год. Дальше, ну что-то не мое синти-поп новая волна без гитары. Да, наши группы тоже под нее закос делали, включая В.Салтыкова с "Форумом". Ну есть еще и немецкая певица Nena, которая стала подругой Ким в 1990-ые и тоже ее ровесница. Но она так себе. А вот Ким мне больше всех нравилась среди поп-рок певиц, хотя я сам и любитель тяжёлого рока и металла. В начале 1980-ых тоже взлетали, набирали обороты: Iron maiden, Judas priest, Lita Ford и т.д. Интересное время было... Прошло 39 лет, но ... это золотое время
Mas Ter Первые её два альбома - ощущается мощное влияние панк-рока. Вот эти все патлы, косухи, бунт на сцене, крайне вызывающий имидж и мрачные тексты типа View from the bridge. Панк это стиль молодой Ким -- немного наивной и ищущей свое место в мире музыки. К середине 80х она этим переболела и начался взлёт другой Ким - в образе красавицы, светской дамы и романтичной возлюбленной кем она собственно в жизни и являлась...
Sergey S Я имею ввиду её музыкальный стиль - то как она себя подавала на сцене. Я не думаю что она как робот слепо исполняла то что ей писали муж и отец. Многое зависело лично от неё самой. Не понимать её альбом Another Step значит это значит вообще не понимать музыку Ким. То что многие любят первые альбомы - это всего лишь первый этап её долгого и очень разнообразного творчества.

Usually I am not a fan of these "ballad" versions of rock or pop songs - but could Kim realize this piano version of "You'll never be so wrong" (7:30) one time? Or is this already on record and I have missed it?!
In the early 80s, it would be the more commercial end of New Wave - in the same ballpark as Toyah Willcox. By the end of the 80s, more into the territory of Belinda Carlisle and purer pop. Her look at this point owes a lot to David Bowie IMHO.

Guys going to see Kim. Today, I think young guys wouldn't go with their mates to see, say, Lady Gaga or Katy Perry. The pop touring market has really changed I think.
In the early 80s she had a bit more of a New Wave vibe - touches of Gary Numann, Toyah Willcox, Blondie etc. David Bowie with the hair (although I think when she improved her hairstyle the music became more commercial)
Hilarious part at 4:30, when the guy with the flute starts playing, Kim looks back. could just see Kim then running over to the flute guy and then kicks him in the nuts, lol.
I don't think she's has ever been to New Zealand that I can remember. From a horticulturalists point of view I think she may find it interesting, watching from Auckland New Zealand.
