Looking back, she skated with sublime grace and textbook technicality, she interpreted the music, skated to the music with great choreography, with beautiful clean edges and blade control, but she only gets 33.80 on component scores. Yet… skaters now who could hardly exhibit the same grace, same skills, same level of quality skating get more than that. This reality is 🤯
Trusuva Component score is more than Yuna. We are at a level of unbelievable figure skating corruption. She pushes the jump boundaries but TRUSUVA skating skills is soo bad there is no way she is anywhere near the golden trio

this lady should have won, so classy. And her behaviour after the medals were awarded showed just what an amazing competitor she was, and the real winner and best skater of all time
Yuna Kim had the great speed on overall skating, the massive high jumps, and a lot more of personality on movements. A performance to be remembered forever!

Look at that ice mark on her 3flip I can tell you that is the most percise technique ice mark entry into 3F I have ever seen in history of women skating.

our Queen could receive 35-36 points pcs and became the 1st women single skater ever got 80 points after short program and total score 230 points at 2010 Olympics and Queen Yuna should be the double olympic champion in 2010 and 2014 then retired with a happy ending about her career
Interesting...this and her 2010 Free Program (the new thumbnail) are 'unavailable' to watch. There is a limit to how many uploads of Queen Yuna's Olympic performances on RU-vid, it seems. Depending on her instead of the most current Olympic champions is really cheap, Olympic Channel YT. These cheesy titles, too...it's such a disservice to the woman herself and us fans! Why not rely on the 2014 ladies' Sochi champion? We have yet to see her SP and Gala uploaded, even though her Free is on here.

Russians have more artistry? Beg to disagree. They are flexible, yeah but they never have the elegance, expressions, fire and versatility that Yuna had. So it doesn't matter if you're not a huge fan. That wouldn't change the fact that she's one of the GOATS.... 😏😏😏

It’s precisely because the Russians have that fire, they float across the ice emoting with their bodies with a deep tradition respect in ballet (they literally invented figure skating after all from their tradition in ballet), that I say they have more artistry. They also always emphasize on musicality on top of having complex movements in such a short limited time which is excessively difficult. When Kim Yuna skated there was just nothing to me. She didn’t seem to be very musical on ice, not flexible whatsoever, and not much emotion, face or body wise, it always looked like she was just under enormous pressure instead of actually enjoying figure skating. But hey, figure skating was all about jumps after all until recently they tried to change the scoring system to emphasize on more artistry but it’ll be hard. Kim Yuna definitely won’t stay GOAT for long when the Russians all fixed their textbook entries which they are now forced to. If you think I just have a bias for Russians, I also found the Japanese skaters having better artistry than Kim Yuna. Yuzuru Hanyu is definitely one of the best and it’s not because I’m just going gaga over his jumps like most people. I actually prefer Nathan Chen’s jumps over his, but his artistry and musicality is very apparent to me. Cheers.
No one beats the control that Yuna had in her upper body, or how beautiful and soft her arm movements were. Most Russian skaters have unpolished moments in their programs. Not a single one for Yuna. Every movement of her body is incorporated to the music.
Watch her free skate. She’s the first one who added transitions for every jump routine. This was the idea from team brian and she earned +18 points by GOE
if you don't, that's fine but more people enjoy them I guess and it's evident from the comments and number of views on her performances... I'd prefer Yuna's programs even with less transitions over today's skaters who just keep on flailing their hands legs trying to be balletic but without any meaning. when Yuna skates, her overall expressions and gestures convey the meaning of the music which I rarely see in today's skaters... so yeah... let's agree to disagree...
she's the total package girl. look at her artistry and expression. she's like dancing and acting while skating. no one skates like her.... so keep on bashing but you can't deny the fact that Yuna is hailed by most as the GOAT... 😏😏😏
