Kimber K6S Combat DA/SA Review 

They are 700-800 dollars because they aren't throw-away, they aren't meant to fall apart after a few years, and they are precision machined quality metal. Get what you pay for.

Good orientation. It is the first mention that I have heard in regards to “topping of” a revolver. When we authorized Speed Loaders back when, I felt it important to retain loops. One reason is that old timers like me, loved loops and loops allowed a quick top off quicker than Speed Strips.

I got the 3inch. I put the tritium sights, wood combat grips and had it crowned and ported. Did a 5lb trigger job and now it's the best damned shooter I've ever shot!

Love mine, so smooth and absolutely beautiful K6 Target.

I got the target version with better sights! So nice.

Just an update as this is slightly dated, the current MSRP on the K6S 4" Combat is MSRP: $1,131.00

I am really interested in purchasing this pistol. I am a fan of .357 and like .38 to plink. I had a S&W 656 that I compare all revolvers to, it is still in the family but not mine. Everything I have read and watched makes me think this may be that good.

I love watching k6s reviews. I have an original with a low serial number on it never been shot. Hopefully my grandkids will have a gem

8/3/2024........I just purchased the Kimber K6S Combat w/4 inch barrel, .357 mag (2 hours ago) list price was $1009.99 in Illinois.

Finger grooves or not!? What are people’s experiences with this specific revolver? Anyone that tried both the finger grooves and the one without it? Are the sights interchangeable to a pair of front and rear Ameriglow night sights?

YOUR OPINION ? Is the K6s 4" , as stout enough to handle Underwood 357mag 180 grain HARD CAST , as a SP101 ?

I think Kimber guns are overlooked. More so this 357 magnum VS more popular rvolvers like the S&W 686, Colt Paythons, the rugers..... The K6s really could be a good choice for a carry gun---it's "light" at 1.5 pounds (vs over 2 punds for a 1911), it's also "narrow" for a recolver (it's the bulkiness that i think stops most civilians from picking a recover for their CCW)....and also not mentioned in most reviews.... IN-CASE a civilian needs to 'defend you won't loose the spent round casings under the boots of LE or pramedics that appear on the scene fater...making your story harder to explain in court....and fewer things can go wrong when you don't want in a critical moment where a second matters...that 1-3 sec you sepnt "tap rack ....bang"...could be costly. ....also, too many John Wick wannabees rely on "magazine capacity" for their CCW...that SIG with te 20 round mags...so in a crisis they know they have 20 plus 1 rounds...so they don't think about each shot as the would if htey knew there is ony 6 (or 8...with a S&W M&P 8 sht 357)...too bulky"...heh.... Also, being limitd to 6 rounds....prevents an "excited" civilian from "unlaoding" too many rounds in a threat (s)...which won't look good in court.....1 357 r ound vs 5 or 6 9mm rounds in chest....what wil the judge say?? hmmm...

Me to John. Hand in front of the barrel. I was told you do in practice, you do when handling or showing your WEAPON. Not good In a positive note the rev looks very nice and kind of resembles a Rugar gp 100.

Will the k6 fit the sp101 holsters

Im usually not one to point out others safety concerns, but why have your palm pressed against the barrel when dry firing?

Now were Kimber to produce a K6 DASA with a shrouded hammer ala the S&W Bodyguard (not entirely hidden hammer) it would be the best of both worlds. BTW, IMHO Zeta6 speed strips are among the finest on the market.

Nice gun! That 3” is a keeper...all good revolvers cost pretty much around $800.0 so I don’t think is expensive at all. Be save and carry one!🇵🇷😷🦠

Another very good review as per usual. My only complaint with the longer barreled K6S series is why didn't they incorporate a longer throw ejector rod. I understand the short throw rod with the 2" barrel but with the 3"/4" a longer ejector rod would be in order. Kind of like what Colt did when they came out with the 3" King Cobra.

It would seem to me after hearing Alan talk about how easy the trigger pulls. And I’m not criticizing. But one would think. As a pocket gun in a 3 inch. Depending on the angle of the barrel in your pocket. This weapon should be at all times in some sort of a holster. God for bid you blow off one of your eggrolls. When under stress reaching for it.

As for the MSRP of the K6, it's in the same range of Smith & Wesson or Ruger revolvers. It's still less than a new Colt.

Great gun but I found the cylinder to be very tight.

This thing is really light. I was shocked when I held it it feels like a toy. I can’t imagine a 357 is fun in this gun.

Probably not a great idea to disable the gun (by opening the cylinder) to do a 'top off'. You will do what you trained to do under stress.

That would be a poor choice for full house magnums,hot loaded 158 or 180 would be a handfull.

It's been firmly established that speed strips aren't faster than loose rounds so I don't know why anyone would bother at this point.

I really wish Kimber would release a glossy blued model. I don’t care for stainless handguns, especially revolvers.
