Man the Kimber 1911’s have been dismal disappointments for the past 15 years. I can’t imagine their tactical Tupperware is any better. I just don’t gamble with the “maybe it’ll work” guns for defense.
Fair enough. No arguing with that… with that being said though a Glock engineer designed this handgun actually and went over to Kimber….. it has something going for it 😂
Looking forward to a range performance video on the kimber . I own several Springfield Xd s thousands of rounds through them and never had a single issue ever. Very solid and reliable.
Love the channel! Just ordered a Walther PPS M2 with Holosun 407k….. If I want round capacity I’ll carry my pdp f 4 inch… your information on this firearm helped me to decide ty
Thanks for doing this. Only thing I don't like about the Mako is that the mags are longer at the butt of the grip and shorter in the front, which is the exact opposite of what I want for carry.
No problem, thank you. And I get that! I like it for the short mag for some resistance for your pinky, but for the extended one I agree. Very nice feeling though. Respect
I really hope an 80% comes out for these. It's an awesome gun and I wish more people had them... and I think an 80% frame would make them very popular (or maybe even some 3d models for people to print and the availability of parts and parts kits of course).
Ive had good luck with kimber so far with the mako and k6s 3". Mako is part of my rotation and definitely one of my favorite. That stoeger is the very next on my purchase list.
I picked mine up yesterday and put a quick 100 rounds thru it. I have to admit I'm loving the mako so far, I'll be testing it more this weekend, but im pretty sure it'll earn a spot in the carry rotation.
Mine is very accurate as well. Eats literally anything. I put 400 rounds of every possible different ammo I could find through it the day I bought it. Different bullet weights, types, reloads, brands and case materials. NO hiccups whatsoever. Added a CT RAD Micro shake-awake red dot and now it's perfect. Trust my life to it.
@@spnfirearms Well if I you get it fixed and I get into sublimation, I already have a good idea for the design for a “My Little Pico: Malfunctions are Magic” open carry meme holster.
Mako just seems a tad bigger than most micro 9mm’s not a bad looking pew pew, but for my money I like the shield plus and CSX is probably still my favorite, I’ve had them all and love size of 365 but had bad luck with them. The reflex is a great gun too but I’m about to part ways with it. Really hope HK brings their micro 9mm to the market soon, I’ll definitely buy 2 and switch to it, love paddle mag release, wish they’d make a DA/SA micro 9mm like a micro USP.
Thanks for the comparison. Honestly, I would’ve rather seen the flush fit mag comparison versus the extended mag comparison. Or maybe doing a seven minute video and showing extended mag options on all of them. Most of them have an extended mag option. Example 365 or 365 XL or 365 XL with the 15 round.hellcat with the 11 1315 or the 17. But I understand you’re comparing against the set up that you like.
Awesome gun. Glad to see some people are taking advantage of it. Seems like too few people have it, because it's such an excellent gun. Most gun people don't even know what it is.
@@yeahitdonotmatter4330 That's good to hear. I've been hoping for a video on how it works. It's different from most guns and although I have an idea of how it works (I know how many 100s of firearms function), I've never seen exactly how the parts fit and function together. I don't know a lot of people that own them, but of the few people I've come across, they all love them and carry them for self defense (and they've all been reliable of course). I really wish an 80% would become available or at least the build kits with downloadable frame files.
As I'm sure you have noticed, no matter what you do or how you do it, always going 2 be people saying they don't like it. I am of the ," if you don't like it kick rocks" school or thought. 🤘🏽 Awesome video brother.
I like what you're doing here, but really feel you should compare flush fit mags to flush fit mags. You put the extended mag in the Kimber and compared it to all other's flush fit. Apples to oranges.
@@spnfirearms I’m looking into gunsmithing or something aftermarket as an option. Passion projects for extra cash, but one step at a time. Would be cool to fill a need for the 2A community.
I was going back and forth between Glock 43x and Kimber Mako. Bought the 43x I love it but now I feel like the guy who dated two pretty girls and picked the girl I thought was the “one” but now regrets it… I’m gonna buy that Kimber Mako.
You can never have too many HK's. It does kinda suck they don't make a pocket .380 though. There are some pretty good one's made by other companies though. Like the Beretta Pico. That's his favorite 380 of them all. lol. Joking aside... anything you want specifically? The LCP Max is most peoples first pick these days. 10rds of .380 with the decent LCP II trigger and it's only slightly larger than the LCP II. It's almost identical in size though. I like the LCP II and especially the LCP too though, because they are a little smaller (esp the original LCP)... and the original LCP has a longer, heavier trigger, which is what a lot of people prefer with a pocket gun (or any CCW). It really depends if you want polymer or metal frame, lighter weight over capacity... or capacity over size, etc... There are many excellent guns to choose from. The Glock 42 is a very popular one for example, because it's an excellent shooting gun, but it's larger than most other pocket .380's and only has 6rds. Some people prefer that though. (Also, I think .32 is worth looking in to. Most people would prefer .380, but there are some good .32acp handguns that are worth consideration, like the Beretta 3032).
There's only one good one since the lc max isn't reliable. P365 380 which is only 3 oz lighter than. The 9mm. The lc max is 10 oz but doesn't function well
Bersa Tunder CC or Sig P238. Both have above average triggers, next to no recoil and extremely reliable. I also have a Beretta 3032 INOX, but only have about 40 rounds through it.
I am finally happy with my EDC this Kimber R7 is just so accurate and this trigger is the best I have shot Runs Fast only 100 through it but no malfunctions 10 out of 10.
Who buys such a gun.when you can legaly acces a good german or austrian firearm...dont make sense safe money on unrealiability..its like buying a new fake jersey..when you can buy cheap a used real jersey..i take always 2nd option..😂😂
