It doesn’t take very long to get to age two. I don’t see the benefit to adding aggressive option to such a small time.

I agree and plus if needs be Norse have ulfsark, Egyptian have pharaohs/priests, Atlantean scouts can be transformed into hero’s and Greeks get the scouts on horses to harass but really there’s little point because TC/towers can defend eaisly

Don't know if you knew this also Yodesla. But every age you advance up in all your mythic units gets more hp. Even the once from second age. So going up 1 age is really important, all your mythic units get extra hp.

It's possible to attack in the first age with Poseidom. Send villagers, build houses, enemy tc destroy house, milita spawn, don't let him build temple, win. It's sort of a troll strategy.

I’d like to see some more early agro options too. The closest thing I’ve seen was when Fitzbro did the sentinel rush cheese. I also wish you could mass units like you can in AOE 2/4. I wonder what it would do to the balance if they reduced human soldier pop cost? Armies always feel so small

We'll probably see this kind of thing developed with future factions added to the game. We know we're getting two new factions in the near future, and one of them could be a faction focused on fast early aggression.

In the first few minutes you're talking about a lack of early game aggression options. I vaguely remember scouting units being strong enough to kill some animals and start them rotting. Does anyone bother with that? Or are bears/ox/things that can fight back too common?

Early dark age agro: greek used to be able make their first hero with full power (9 attack or so) Could harass dock with hero + pestilence to stop production on water maps Now greek heroes are weak in archaic age - like 3 attack.

Archaic is all about setting the scene for the rest of the match and doing so in relative peacetime. There are ways to harass in archaic but most are generally considered cheese and/or just annoying.

a peacefull first age is setup for an interesting later game ... how to start eco macro and scouting ... if not all followin gonna be an absolute mess ( even more) its some fun , but it also denys all advanced tactics later on! At least if not both players basically agree to just leave each other alone and doing that decision actively is super anticlimactic and for that would feel very wrong

i dont think every game should be a rush or a t1 harass. I just think some sort of option should be there. Otherwise why have a T1 in the first place? why not start everyone on age 2? Or at least some way to maybe sacrifice early vill count for a faster t2 that allows from some short term aggression? I dunno

@@Yodesla if you really want make a scenario, right now yet in origin so and start with Age 2 , you soon will realize that a piece time of some aint such a bad thing, especially for the lower elo players

i think first age its for scouting and make some decisions, aom maps are random and because of this the scouting are so important

I feel like no early rush is good thing makes for better fights later and someone new alittle time to get used playing if they constantly get harassed in the beginning they just gonna quit the game. I go to play not die right off the bat 😂

Never did see the point of fimbulwinter. Its more of a team game GP than a 1 v 1. Never saw the point of Nidhogg either. A few good archers are all you need..I hope they buffed it to hell for retold.

it is pretty strong because wolf take aggro from towers. in general, stoping production for 60 second is pretty big loss in economy for opponent. It is like opposite of RA rain ability. I see it more as resource denial tool.

@@dodang_9147 well exactly, so it would make a great archaic age (or whatever age 1 is called) GP. For context, compare it to lightning storm which wipes out a third of your pop. How about that for resource denial? Or tartarian gate? Or earthquake? Losing a TC would deny some resources, yes? Besides the wolves usualy don't last 60 seconds anyway. I've seen ancestors cause more damage. Rag is the only good Norse mythic GP IMO.

@@karthiksheshadri6600 ragnerok destroy your economy. fimbulwinter has no drawback. it also stops god powers which can be useful in some sense. it is not game-winning power and norse in general lack decent god powers. The only good god power norse have is flaming weapons from Bragi. Odin doesn't have Bragi so realistically Odin lacks any good god powers. Fimbulwinter is only thing Odin has that is realistically safe to use.
