Another wild camping adventure high up on Kinder Scout in the Peak District, planned in great detail. Amazing pitch, great food and even dry weather but nearly at the top it all changed " we may have a problem "
Makes my day when I see an upload from you Pat. As my wife has just said, feels like you’re a friend now! The downside for me is that I’m always trying to lighten my pack size… my wife wants hot food with all the trimmings on our next wild camp thanks to you! With all warmest wishes from Cheshire. Cheers - Simon.
hi Patrick it's Craig I hope you're ok. I have recently had a lovely chat with those fantastic people at rlbs and ordered myself an angram cq 1/4 pint Beer Engine also I have one of their endeavour 1/4 pint Beer Engines I am currently trying the hearty Yorkshire bitter from the Yorkshire Heart Brewery. looking forward towards your next video. cheers from myself Craig and my guide dog Cindy x
I was feeling a bit low but watched your video and it cheered me up. I love the secure feeling you get from pitching near those rocks. Thanks for sharing Pat.
This was a very interesting camp, plans all changed due to no water, but some local knowledge saved the day and ended up with a great camp…….thanks Pat
Daytime drinking gets me every time. One's not enough, and two's too many. A close shave on the water situation, Pat. As you say, local knowledge wins out. All the best. Slava Ukraini.
Lovely video Pat, great to see you back on Kinder, such a magical area. I really liked the little pans you put in at the end of the long shots. The effort you put into these videos is amazing.
Pat. I love these vids of you out in the wild, truly in your element. And you have a really personable and engaging way of communicating the beauty of the peaks and your love of the area in such a genuine manner. Thanks for sharing your wild camps. I really enjoy them. God bless, Steve
A wonderful trip out again Pat. I look forward to all your videos, whether out in the wilderness or in your cosy pub. Every video you make really is food for the soul, and always leaves me smiling. Thank you.
Hi there, yes many of us visited Kinder in our younger years, then interrupted by families etc, but then we return in our later years, it does,nt change much, still as challenging and as beautiful as ever..... thanks Pat
spending the night in a premier inn at Staines upon Thames watching this video, been out for a couple of beers, eaten a takeaway, and know rounding it off with another fantastic video from Patrick, all that's missing is the whiskey tasting in the middle of nowhere. another fantastic Camp Pat.
Sounds agood night Darren, hope you enjoyed the video, we'll be making up for the lack of drink on the next video in june...from the pub....all the best Pat
Nature lover and purveyor of most interesting videos is what you are. The way you manage to portray this in the video format is, imho, a work of art. Good to see you back and I look forward to seeing your next episode from the Dickinson Arms "shed pub". I'll certainly hold a drink up to that.
Thanks for such a nice video! And many thanks for your clear and beautiful english language. I, whose mother tongue is not English, but Swedish / Finnish , enjoy and understand everything you say! Many other English people speak so fast and indistinctly, so much you just have to guess. I wish you a nice weekend! ps. A little good beer fits well, every day ...👍
Dear Patrick, another fine adventure... I'm very glad that you are so knowledgeable about your surroundings. I love your videos. to the 🇬🇧 from the 🇺🇸 ... Have a great day, Patrick. 👏 🏕
A brilliant video Pat. Everything about it ......... fantastic. The music, the drone, the scenery, the chat. Have a blessed day and thank you for the smiles, good cheer and your enthusiasm. Top man.
Great comments about Ukraine and war in general - well said. 😊 Experience, resourcefulness and comedy, all results in another fantastic vid. Thanks Patrick.
We always love watching your videos, you manage to capture the essence of us actually being with you on the trip, something we will try to aspire to on our videos. Thanks for taking us along.
Thank you Patrick, lovely camp, your area knowledge for kinder is excellent, always great to watch you and you make me nostalgic for my time up there when I did my BMC cert training and my first camp at the "swamp" on kinder when I was 17, I also began my ice climbing training on the Kinder downfall in winter. ATB :)
Hi Andrew, for summer camping usually around 8-9 kg, with dehydrated food, no water, if I put all my camera gear and drone in goes up 4 kg, put proper food in up another 1 kg, no longer lightweight then....Pat
Hi Patrick, I thought it would be under 10kg, well done! It's very tricky keeping things light, the water aspect is one of the biggest issues we all face. When I go out, I use dehydrated foods as well. I am starting up my hiking cycle again after a 2 year hiatis. Heading into winter down here, but can usually keep thing relatively light for the journeys.
I remember years ago, backpacking on the Pennine Way. My rucksack was plastered with sew on badges of the places I'd been. A friend pointed out I was carrying excess weight.
Great video as always it just shows you how little rain we have had in April even though it's been dull and cold quite often . Good job you know the area like the back of your hand. You found a great spot to camp out, the camera work is brilliant it gives us viewers the sense of being right in the picture with you I like that in a video. Thanks for sharing Pat and have a great weekend.
Thanks David, yes so many beautiful spots up there, but the dryness of the area really suprised me, I sat on the grass for several hours and no dampness at all, just so dry.....thanks Pat
Thanks Pat. Thanks again for the beautiful views of a country I long to visit, I must get to England and have a narrow boat canal ride before I croak, lol , that's definitely on the bucket list.
Hi Pat these are productions not videos! Absolutely brilliant. You are the best wild camping story teller on you tube. That was a great spot you found to bivvy at. Lovely camp. Cheers Gary 👍

Haha , l like your pubstops along the way you naughty lad! I only discovered your channel a couple of months ago, but it's one of my very favourite ones Pat. You have a way to induce calm and lower blood pressure, it's brilliant stuff mate
Thanks Nige, eve with my water problems,a night up on Kinder Scout will calm anybody down, totally relaxed . Great to have you along on my adventures, plan to do a couple wild camps as then occasional video from my pub , all the best Pat 👍
Thanks so much Pat for this video. Due to physical health problems I can no longer walk in the hills so your videos mean a lot to me, many thanks, Paul.
These videos of you out in the wild are absolutely fantastic Pat, love watching them. Gets me super excited to get out and camp in the Peaks when I’m watching them, all the best my friend
Thanks pat that was a smashing video... I'm in no position at moment to enjoy the hills as I'm awaiting two new knees thanks for sharing those lovely spots...untill next time take care 👍🇬🇧
Hi Paul, I have actually filmed the video but not in a position to put it on yet as I need loads of time to answer the comments, it will be going on in a couple of weeks, all about drinking, sorry for the delay.... thanks Pat
Great to hear your getting into wild camping I spend hours just walking the areas I want to camp, just looking or that perfect pitch........ thanks Pat
Thank you Patrick, another excellent video. Love your video footage of your climbing. Lucky man living where you do. Small point, WW1, ie the Great War was 'The war to end all wars'.
It's fab to see you out and about again doing what you do best! Always an honour to watch your Videos especially when it evolves a pub! 😁🍻 Cheers Patrick
It's a treat to come home from work and see that Mr. Dickinson has published a new video. Such a nice way to relax in his amiable company. Thanks from Finland!
Nice effort again Pat, understanding all the work you out into filming you certainly give us a generous production, fully enjoyed this, and don't even need to leave my armchair. Ha ha ... Thank you. Harry
Hello Pat, from NZ, had to laugh at your " treacle sponge and custard pudding" so, so English. You always put a smile on my face. I've been in the mountains here for 50 years and never had "treacle pudding " whilst up them, I've missed out on so much. Always look forward to your videos. Cheers
I love this, my first walk over Kinder was on a Youth Hostelling trip in 1970, from Edale YHA (Rowland Cote) up to Madwomans Stones, it was in July and quite dry. Next in 1984 was up Ringing Roger and then along the circuit of the edges and back down Grindsbrook, it was wet ! I did the same about 1997 and the groughs were dry, And my last walk with my son was up Ringing Roger in 2018 ! Thanks for this Patrick.
Another great video, Pat! Good reminder for us all to have a solid hydration plan. That's why I always bring along a good size packet of dehydrated water. Just add water and I'm all set ;) Looking forward to the next video. Take care!
another great vid Patrick ,not long back from wasdale up by the lakes was great went out one day never seen a sole all day bliss ,your vid has reminded me of that ,this looks like a great place Pat ,look forward to your june vid cheers
Pat, your videos are far more entertaining than anything on the telly. Interesting, informative and fun. Thanks for taking the time and effort to do these.
