FYI reading on a Kindle is not reading on a "screen" it is comparable to paper since it is eInk. While as you said reading in general can cause eye strain, eInk is not reading on a "computer screen" which is why the best light to read in is braud daylight with the device light turned all the way off. The light in the device is basically a built in flashlight.
Loved this video. My main problem with the kindle is that I cannot read ebooks from my public library. That's why I decided to go with another ebook reader. I think kindle unlimited is pretty expensive, especially when I only pay 10€ per year at my library. I am from Germany and books have a fixed price - ebooks normally are cheaper than physical ones, but they aren't cheaper on Amazon compared to other bookstores. But I must say, your kindle looks so cute! I'm obsessed! ❤
I love my Kindle but mostly get my books from 3rd party & library, if I couldn't I would have gotten one of the other brands. Most of the US libraries seem to use Overdrive/Libby which has many Kindle compatible books.
@@ciannacoleman5125 oh my god what! 😮My library uses this too (but they have just started using it). I know that it wasn’t possible to read it on a kindle before they started using it (when I bought my eReader), but if this works that would be great if I ever want to get a kindle in the future! Thanks so much for your comment, it helped a lot! ❤️
I think a ereader screen will hurt your eyes less then reading on a tablet, the difference being that with a tablet the light is situated behind the screen, shining from back to front, into your eyes. E-ink screens have been invented to imitate paper as close as possible and the lights are situated in front of the screen, shining from front to back, away from the eyes. Much like in the past you would use a reading light for reading in a darker room. So where as if you read non stop all day without a break might hurt your eyes, it will damage less then being on your tablet or phone all day without a break.
I want the Kindle to just read pdf books. Would it be good at this, or will there be lagging or not gonna be enjoyable enough?. I'm really confused between it and the kobo libra 2. Which one is the best in pdf's reading Really want your honest opinion.
I'm pretty sure It would work just the same , I'm getting a kindle for Christmas for this purpose. I'm currently reading the PDF books on a kindle app on my phone and u can sync your Kindle to the app so I'm assuming the Kindle will work the same
Can you make videos about living in Alaska? I’m a teacher and somehow schools in Alaska got ahold of my email and every few weeks I get a random email from a school in Alaska begging me to work there but I always ignore them because I think it seems SO hard to live there. But the thing is the offer a lot of money. Is it actually nice living there?
there is definitely pros AND cons about living here just like anywhere else but genuinely me and my husband absolutely love it here! we aren’t staying permanently but we were seriously considering it. the biggest cons is really lack of stores, we don’t have a target in the area im in, the closest one is 6 hours and that’s the only one in the whole state, our “mall” is a literal hallway w a couple stores, not too many food options. the cost of living out here is definitely pretty expensive so that’s def something to take into consideration.. like for example there’s only 2 options for wifi and they both aren’t very good and in order to have enough for a whole month we pay almost 200$ a month JUST for wifi.. the winter to me in a con and a pro, personally i love winter, before moving here my husband hated winter but here it’s actually his fav time of the year! the 24 hour darkness can be hard sometimes but it’s also cool! the northern lights are beautiful, the 24 hour daylight in the summer is one my of fav things!! it is SO COOL! ahah but yeah that’s just a few things, different areas are gonna have different pros/cons so id do some research into the area the school is! this is the biggest state after all shah
Ereaders are always a bit slower then tablets. It takes a bit getting used to if you used to read a lot on your phone or tablet. I bought the PW signature edition during prime sale and I come from the 2017 Oasis, but noticed that the paperwhite seems to be a tad faster then my old oasis. I now keep my Oasis in my bedroom for before bed reading and keep my PW SE downstairs for daytime/evening reading.
The one released in 2022 is the basic kindle. They did a secret "upgrade" release of the 16gb Paperwhite at the same time but it isn't actually a new device.
I ordered mine on July 12 for prime day. Hoping to get it the next day or so, it’s coming until July 30 😅 I was thinking on getting the green one but it takes like 6 months 😮
the laggy is normal esp with the highlighting and such, since you can do that even on airplane mode. I think a majority of us kindle or kobo users use the web browser on our phone or even laptop to shop and then it will pop up on the kindle and you can then just poke it and it will download (that part takes time based on your internet), but the whole shopping experience is so much better in color on your phone or laptop or tablet etc... I 100% recommend picking your books there and adding them to your library that way and then just reading/annotating on the kindle itself. I highlight a decent amount when something just speaks to me and I do find it takes a second or so for it to realize I am trying to highlight, but I think if the screen was more touchy then it would probably act up when you accidentally touch the screen which would be a bigger pain having to find your place again...
oh i didn’t think about that! i’ll def try that! also yeah a more touchy screen would def be an annoyance when u accidentally touch it ahah i do that too much already
New here because I searching recommendations for going to be a digital reader, and that's so nice!! Looks good to me, so I can read more outside, I try Kindle app and it's really awesome but after that I consume too much phone battery and my eyes really dry after some hours reading + getting KU looks really good and worth it after seeing how many books are in, my mind explode. Hahaha also I don't have Kindle TBR since the Stuff Day, and oh my god... Didn't know I can click so fast for a book. 🤣🤣🤣
Ordered my kindle paperwhite and it’s set to arrive tomorrow. I’m mad you can’t do kindle unlimited for free when purchasing the kindle at least for now 😭 but I am very excited to start using it
