There is also an option 4:kindred is the real harry while the alive harry is a construct of mephisto and all of this is the consequences of peter and mj getting together again and peter wanting to remarry her wich would voilate their deal with mephisto so mephisto unleashed the real harry from hell as a way of saying"no one double crosses my deal other than me!" And all of this will lead to one more day becoming erased for good(hopefully so as sins past). I mean the latest issues are keep mentioning OMD heck kindred made peter to re-experience brand new day all over again if that doesn't scream "OMD" I don't know what would.
I’m sure there’s a lot more to it that we understand. Kindred said that it doesn’t matter who he is, it matters what he is instead. Since he’s became a demon, likely thanks to Mephisto’s deal, he probably blames Peter a lot because he’s tormenting thanks to Peter’s selfishness in making a deal with the devil.
Well you are right this video is incredibly dated but it’s well edited keep it up but to give ya advice from a fellow comic fan let the run finish then review it 😊
I mean barely anything has happened since the #53 so I think that the video hasn't aged that poorly. Theres still no explanation for why harry is kindred other than the ones i stated in the video (which don't work thematically and for the character), Also I know that the run hasn't finished but that doesn't mean I can't review it now. hindsight and looking back is always 20/20 and having a review in the here and the now can acknowledge how badly handeled kindred has been in terms of build up, reveal and logic.

Is it that inconceivable to think that he got either brainwashed or his mind wiped by the proverbial "making a deal with the devil" sorta thing and the mephisto guy only implanted the bad memories of peter/spiderman into him? It makes sense to me that as a kind of consequence for peter breaking the deal that mephisto sent back one of his friends from the dead as a monster to torture spiderman
Spider-Man didn't break mephisto's deal. mephisto's deal was to take away peter and MJ's relationship during that moment. He never specified that they could never get back together. If that is true that comes out of nowehere and just introduces a new aspect for no reason without prior explanation. Also like i said that just stomps all over jm dematteis' story that he established.

@@NaruBrilu Harry died for Peter, protecting Peter and MJ. Reversing that because of "evil hell magic" is lazy and just serves to undo one of the most iconic and best character arcs in all of spider-man history. Spectacular spider-man #200 never needed to be undone.
@David Blyth I mean that's also a universally hated change as well though. I haven't read all of Spencer's run yet and I've really enjoyed. I'd hate to see him write a story arch that's that bad. I'm still hoping it comes around to some big surprise that fixes all of these issues
To be honest I just want Spider-Man comics to go back to the way it used to be like legit this makes Norman Osborn green goblin look like a masterpiece and believe me Norman is a million times worse when Kindred and I read Spider-Man comics since the beginning and this is just pathetic as fuck I mean if he really wanted to torment Peter when he should have killed M.J cuz that is what would make Peter snap

Always wondered if Harry would ever step out of Norman Osborn's imposing shadow. But this is...a bit much. Sure, he resurrected the Sin-Eater, who blasted away that goblin inside Osborn. So now he's more or less a normal human being again (for now). But this change into a demon...talk about out of the frying pan and into the oven. And the Last Remains storyline made the buildup worth the wait! We've been seeing him since #1 of the current relaunch. And I can't give Nick Spencer enough credit. A+
My problem with it isn't really the concept. It's the execution and how it doesn't make any character motivation, consistency and logical sense. I don't mind Harry being kindred if it doesn't go against his character arc in Spectacular Spidey 200 and everything that we've seen of him post OMD.
I think Harry DID die in that issue and Pete brought him back in OMD but he was amnesiac to his going to hell until Peter started thinking of marrying MJ again. So now Harry blames Peter as his memories came back.
My theory is Kindred is the same Harry who died in Best of Enemies, only one Harry. He died redeeming himself to Peter but still went to hell for his crimes and even though he reconciled with Peter and redeemed himself, well, it's Hell. All the torture could have made him rethink that reconciliation. Then when Mephisto rewrote reality Harry used that moment to escape Hell and return to the living world, but the reason he wasn't Kindred/villainous during Slott's run is because Mephisto's deal rewriting of reality altered his memories as he came back to life, this is also why he didn't come to collect Mysterio's debt to him for so long. However living in Mephisto's rewritten world effected Harry such that he didn't remember his time in Hell until Peter and MJ got back together, their kiss in Spencer's first issue breaking the deal somewhat and returning Harry's memories. Also remember Mysterio came back to life right before OMD so maybe Harry sent Mysterio back to the living world because he knew Mephisto was going to offer Peter the deal, so Harry was doing what he could to interfere with that but Peter still took the deal anyway. So now Harry's pissed at Peter for that. As Harry/Kindred has said before it's not about who he is, but what he wants, so I really think we're not going to get his motivation till the end of Last Remains and that will fill in any blanks.
