Thank you for this video.. I have a tear in my Gluteus Media and going to give this a go. I am training for a half marathon and hope this will let me do the race!
Hi, i have been suffering with piriformis syndrome since last 1.5 years. Exercise do help, but i recommend to try Chiroptactor and acupuncture. I continuee both treatments simultaneously, symptoms got 80% cured.
ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-EAoBwdrkxSY.html I have discovered the cure to piriformis All the doctors are taking the wrong Approach. Its not the muscle it is the sciatic nerve coming from your tailbone. I can imaging you have a never ending knot in the tailbone area too? Once you use my method you will no longer have piriformis.
Hello ! Can you please tell me about your condition I have this problem billateral for 3 years and recently I had corticosteroids injections with ultrasound.I have tried stretches but this make my condition worse. Can you please help me ?
Recommend you go to a spine doctor to do an mri of your spine. Turned out after 4 years, i had two verbetraes completely out of alignment pinching on nerves. Had surgery, and that was the 29th doctor I saw. It is very common in people over 45. Dont delay -- get to a good spine doctor and dont rule anything underlying the cause of your pain.
+John Gibbons thank you for the vid very educational... Im a baseball player and was diagnose w piriformis syndrome over 2 weeks ago... that same week the doc put me on corticosteroids to help with the swelling hence the pinching of my sciatic nerve, but I do still feel the pain when sitting down, not to mention is there if I try to run... my next season starts in 2 weeks so I tried using KT tape using your technique and KT tape is garbage! my wife applied it using their instructional vid w diff technique from yours and also used with your technique and the tape doesn't stick .. even rubbing my buttock w alcohol!!! so what brand of tape are you using here? or what could we possibly be doing wrong?
+Wander Thanks for the message, I use a product called Rocktape and you can buy from their website. They also do a H2O version that is considered to stick better for athletes that swim or sweat a lot etc. I would get someone like me to check your hip joint as sometimes pain that is perceived in the piriformis / central buttock area could be some pathology within your hip joint e.g. a labral tear. Good luck, JG
Hllo dr ...wt about the sciatic nerve irritation due to piriformis ... does taping sufficient for this ...and in yours clinical practice what home exercise plan you suggest for piriformis after taping ...
The tape is only helping the piriformis, sciatic or gluteal symptoms as you are not treating the cause of the problem so further inverstigation is required especially for the hip joint and lumbar spine, regards JG
Hi John Very clear and understandable. I use taping in my chiro practice with great success! What's the title of your book? Keen on getting it. Keep up the great work
I dont tend to worry about the application from origin to insertion or vice versa as muscles are attached mainly via sling systems, so there is no direct starting or finishing point (relating to slings). I know Rocktape follow this principle but other companies might not. Hope that helps
Hello, John Gibbons I really like your video! Can I make little a suggestion that can help get your video found by more people looking for this kind of information?
I´d like to know why you choose to apply the chosen strecth in the first tape. Also, why are you starting close to the sacrum, and not close to the trochanter major. Are you considering that tape to be an inhibation? The last two bits, when applied that much stretch, i´ve learned that that is a compression of the tissue. Why would you chose to compress rather than a lift?
Thanks for the message and i have tried a few variations and I find the one i demonstrate seems to work better for me, I tend to ask my patient and as I currently get good feed back I tend to stick with it, at least for now but I would change the tension of tape etc if I didnt get good results.....
Thanks for your answer, and my apologies for the crooked english. I'm learning all this stuff in my native language, and i have some issues translating it I´ve tried this particular tape on one of my patients, and i had a good effect from it. Allthough i've seen several other ways to do it. For instance, i've seen one where a tape is made to inhibate the piriformis, and a second tape, consisting of 2 I-strips are fascilitating the glut. max. That also seemed to work well.
Hello ! Can you please tell me about your condition I have this problem billateral for 3 years and recently I had corticosteroids injections with ultrasound.I have tried stretches but this make my condition worse. Can you please help me ? I don’t want to do surgery...
Not sure what you asking - central buttock pain can be caused through many reasons and the hip joint is the top of my list for one of the symptoms to the piriformis area, regards JG
@@JohnGibbons Look i had 2 mris in the hips and both didnt show something about the acetabulum ,my hips have a mild dysplasia, my mri in my back showed nothing interesting.I went to 3 reumatologist so i dont have any autoimmunde disease. Moreover i tested for an ischiofemoral impingement which was negative i have normal distance of the femurs with the ischium.Plus my last orthopedic surgeon did test for piriformis syndome and it was positive. The only thing that the mri of the hips showed , is a mild edema around the area of this muscle.
@@Lamebutohwell hello , look for me it was piriformis indeed. I did surgery …First of all you must diagnose piriformis through method of exclusion. Your doctor must first rule out other conditions that may cause buttock pain. If it is piriformis use surgery as your last resort ,only if it so painful that you can’t live with it. How long have you been dealing with this problem ? What kind of therapies have you done ?
Going to orth tomorrow numbness electricity feeling driving me crazy wrist feels like some one pounded them and butt pain running from exactly that area he taped but also behind the thigh feels terrible leaning forward kind of way had lumbar surgery yeaars ago L4L5 disc bulge I am a mess been everywhere no relief no relief
This tape helps so much. Fortunately I didn't require surgery. Worked for Amazon and got this injury. Injury is reoccurring. Suing amazon! Yeah tape and facial release helps. Takes time.
I was suffering for piriformis syndrome for more than 8 years of my life. And nothig was bringing the relief. But finnaly i got rid of it. And its not by stretching. Im sharing my experiance on my youtube chanel
How did you get rid of it? If this helps anyone who comes across this, a sort of ace bandage around my hips, all the way around, that i just got today seems to be relieving the pain. Also, although people will find this very strange, but when I eat something where the main ingredient is sugar or corn syrup, it aggravates the injury. But artificial sweeteners are okay.
This never, ever mention what I searched for - treatment of piriformis syndrome with tendon tape. Waste of my time selling product I am not interested in.
I apologize. I got stuck in the ad , thinking it was the video. How effective is this for semi acute periformis? Now just stretching , salon pas, chiropractor
Miss Young 36 same here had this for 6 weeks went and got a sports massage it’s helping . Worst pain I’ve had leg would lock up and go numb Definitely get a massage ASAP
...aaaaand it does nothing. Is why I gave up being a sport's masseuse, most of it is just quackery regardless of your anatomy and physiology knowledge.
