Neocore Games is an indie developer who specializes in turn based strategy crpg's. Their last game was King Arthur: Kinght's Tale. There's a review for it on the channel and I enjoyed it immensely.
I finished Knight's Tale not too long ago and enjoyed it quite a bit. So I've been just keeping an eye on this for later, after working through some other stuff in the Queue. But Romans. Well kinda. Still, fits the dead-tree library quite well, yay. I appreciate the review, given that context, very topical & useful for me!
I feel that Neocore is really missing the mark on detailing the setting, the story, and the characters. What we have is fine, but THERE COULD BE SO MUCH MORE, but otherwise, it's an excellent game. Also, there are no cool cinematics.
Knight tale was too long for me at hard difficulty, finished around 80 hours completionists. At 30 hours, this game seems right will play at hard difficulty as well
End game on KT was pretty repetitive and you bulldozed everything with just your main party and specially with 2turn CD Death Hex. Boudecia is a beast even with the Seelie and unseelie with their detection. Here, you can't really flesh thrm out cause they don't have flesh. And ofcourse there is no medicus room cause they're undead.haha If there was a morgue, it will be fine. Brutal is doable, but I don't have the time to keep repeating the same mission/battle just to be done with it. With almost 25-50% hp remaining. Could be more immersive if bones don't use potions, the devs could have put an elixir of draining life from the environment. And I heard on morality choice, is there an instances someone would leave? That would be dumb specially there are only 6 Dead Ones
It is a standalone expansion, resources are mostly recycled. Man I wish they change the class mechanics, they just change w/ the ranks of Romans which is not accurate. Like Dimachaerus (dual blade), for Gauis. Murmillo sword and board. Etc.
