King Baldwin IV Meets Balian Scene in Kingdom of Heaven (Iconic Scene in 4K) 

It’s a shame Edward Norton did not receive an award for this. His acting as King Baldwin was Oscar worthy.

1:40 he was right about the time he had left. King Baldwin would only live to be 24 years old. Despite his affliction, he is still considered to be one of the greatest kings of his time. He is a perfect example of the phrase "it's not the body that makes the man, but the spirit"

The set design is phenomenal.

Fun fact: Edward Norton played King Baldwin in this mask throughout the movie. He was not in the original cut so much, the directors cut has all his scenes back in.

24 years old and speaks like a Buddha

The intelligence of King Baldwin is extremely great. He ofcoarse being very young.

"Remember that howsoever you are played, or by whom, your soul is in your keeping alone. Even those who presume to play you be kings or men of power, when you stand before God you cannot say, 'But I was told by others to do thus,' or that 'virtue was not convenient at the time.' This will not suffice." I'm not a religious man but these are some pretty powerful words of self-accountability. There will always be those more powerful than you and sometimes those people in authority may ask or flat out tell you to do something you know to be wrong. "I was just following orders" is never a defense.

You can see Balian hanging on every word the King said, it was a moment never to forget but also youd be so nervous that you might not match his intellect

King Baldwin, even more than Job maybe, was the embodiment of "The Lord has given, and the Lord has taken away, blessed be the name of the the Lord." He didn't care what he had or what he had left, he cared only about what he must do.

Being behind a mask definitely helped him go all out for this. Fantastic performance.

I never knew it was Edward Norton until I read these messages. Now I can hear his voice.
