@@MacintoshT.ReznorJosh Homme acts like a 5 year old child because his ego has been flared by the fact that he thinks he’s a rockstar and he should act like one
No he was telling a story about meeting someone that he helped get going, the someone who stopped talkimg to him because he got all holliwood, didn't want to be a friend and say "hi was good catching up" Yet when he needed a crowd catcher for his secret gig thought Buzz would jump. He's telling a story about how false Dave is. I love Dave to bits, his band influenced me to pick up a guitar. Doesn't mean he's not an asshole, The dude is an asshole and this Mr Nice persona is fake as fuck for publicity.
@@TheJpf79 Jp Fitzpatrick yeah, he's a sellout. I watched his Sound City documentary and when I saw that big narcissistic self-portrait of him hanging in his own studio(!!) it dawned on me how bloated his ego actually is.
I remember when we were young and cute. Now we're just tubby and grey. But still awesome. I remember at a Melvins concert, I shouted to Buzz: "I've loved you since I was a child!" He then replied with: "So have I" It was too much funny. A memorable moment in my time.
the best part of all this is that people are taking Buzzo seriously haha, he's just poking a little fun people need to chill. the melvins might not make loads of money but they have certainly influence tons of artists. i mean you don't get to play on stage with Tool for no reason
As much as I'd like to say this is Buzzo joking around, in the end I think this is just him being upset about Grohl's I'm-so-cool-for-school-nice-megarockstar attitude that people use to suck hard. I really undestand Buzzo on this, he tries to reach Grohl and he's not there but when semigod Grohl feels the need to call him he needs to be there and please him? C'mon Buzzo's a freaking legend!! Sludge, Drone, Doom, Ambient genres owe much to Melvins, on the other side Grohl, well... he makes money
He is gonna have to start listing this story in his set list. He says it every show... Verbatim...he says he loves punk rock because its spontaneous and not scripted etc...yet he sticks to a script
Buzz is awesome. You all already knew that but I figured I'd chime in with it anyway. I hope that this has helped everyone have a better day. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
There definitely is a LITTLE bit of arrogance in what buzz is saying. I think deep down he feels that since he was the one that essentially got Dave into Nirvana, which led to him becoming a multi-millionaire and eventually the creation of the foo's, it would of been nice for him to at least keep in touch, maybe take the Melvins on a tour, like Nirvana did. Buzz sounded slightly arrogant in a few interviews about Cobain since he was a Melvin roadie, and buzz didnt think his songs were that great
There can be lots of reasons to do this stuff. Everyone knows the Nirvana story. Certainly all of Buzz's fans know the Nirvana story...maybe he's tired of people asking him "How's Dave doing?" and he's just sick of answering the question. Figures if he tells this story people will stop asking.
Not my favorite Dischord release, but it's right up there. And definitely my favorite Scream album. It's a shame some of their later albums just weren't up to par with their debut.
So basically this guy is holding a grudge against Grohl and when Grohl seems to want to make amends and patch things up, he does something childish. This whole speech is so arrogant too. I'm not surprised he has such big hair, it's to cover up how big-headed he is..
He’s told this story before... I don’t think he really likes Dave anymore... holy fall out Batman!!!!!Sure LOTS of people are PISSED at Dave because he made it HUGE. Poor Dave.
No, that is probably not it. Osbourne started on grohl with stories about how he invited him to play with the Melvins immediately after Kurt's suicide, and grohl just kind of blew that ide off, and Osbourne said it with a touch of bitterness. I think Osbourne is just a mean spirited person, judging from some of his public comments about other people. If someone disappoints you, it is NOT a class graceful thing to lash back at them to other people, especially publicly.
People are allowed to hate your favorite bland rock star. They're allowed to call you a deaf consumer. They're allowed to offend you. I think you got bullied in school and I would have picked on you too. They were Punk Rockers fool. Did you expect Mr. Rogers?
Foo Fighters are about as exciting as a meal of bread alone with water. And Dave Grohl has always been a phony. He's rich, so everything worked pretty well for him. To me he is pretty much the poster boy of the death of rock.
either way I don't understand that either, TCV is less poppy than qotsa. The only offense these bands have is their possibly simple, pop-like structure, but that isn't enough at all to warrant calling anything homme does as pop. If anything the melvins have just as simple a song structure as qotsa/tcv but neither are pop at all. foo is another story their shit just sounds poppy and commercial.
You must be joking! Any Fugazi album after red medicine on is waaay better than the scream LP. They have unmatched Songwriting skills, interesting song structures, chord progressions, scoring, sound, they've got poetic lyrics, originality.Fugazi Triumphs in all of these.Scream is just another punk band- a good one although..
Yeah man, I just feel like he's a bit sour over something that happened so long ago. I guess grudge isn't the best way to phrase it. As I said, just the way it came across to me. Obviously it came across differently to other people (who, chances are, already have a liking for King Buzzo and therefore hold a bias in his favour as opposed to me, who has only a general idea of who he is).
I like Buzzo a lot, but this does seem just a little mean spirited and dick-ish. Not a fan of seeing people I respect tremendously be bitter about things that don't matter. Plus he told this exact same story the last time I saw him play. Eh...
This show smelled so bad.. I was stuck in the back and it seems that everybody there was well over 6 foot tall... It was kind of cool to hear his stories.
So many Grohl/Crooked Vultures fans will take this story at face value, and totally miss the self-deprecation within. Good on them, I say. The Melvins don't have to work too hard to keep the idiots away from their music and shows. Buzzo just needs to speak, the idiots just need to misinterpret him, and away they go.
meh...if he had made good with Dave we might never have gotten Coady Willis, who is light years better than Dave on his worst day. Well played King Buzzo 🤌🦾
perhaps Maybe Grohl just wants to show off the fact that Buzzo would ONLY go to their show because he was asked to by Dave Grohl, but it didn't work? I agree, Buzz O seems to have a mean streak in him though. He even says he can't drink alcohol becaue he gets drunk and malevolent.
It's not just this particular rant, but the fact that this is just one among many of 'king buzzo's' diatribes against other musicians that have become more successful than himself over the years that proves he's just a bitter old man now.
Nah, this story has nuance most people not close to the scene don't pick up. But those who know know. The label actually started booking the Melvins at bigger venues after this story they loved it so much. I got to see him at a huge venue in my home state, right after he started telling this story. It was awesome and he really deserved the recognition just on talent alone. Also, I had great seats.
Good on you to sticking to your principles, it's ultra shit and frustrating when people ignore you but then later down the line expect you to be there for them the minute they get in touch with you. That said, Buzz has always seem super salty and bitter (+ jealous) of Nirvana and Kurt. Buzz always reminds of them music snobs in school who were always ultra opinionated, always had something to say and what ever they said were gospel and more inferior to what other people said. You know the types.. those who would preach like fuck, and would think of themselves as god like and have massive ego's. In 'heavier than heaven', it stated that he/Melvins had followers (known as 'cling-ons'), and i bet my last dollar that he would be the type to relish init, and would be the type to be always spouting rules and what not to do and what to do etc. You know the type. Every school has those types, and they are annoying as fuck! He is irritating, i have met so many egotistical types like him. That said, i do agree with what he's saying here. I also support what he's always said about Courtney Love ie a lying bitch. Lastly, i always think he was jealous of Kurt's fame and what he achieved, cos again i would bet my bottom dollar he would never say no if the opportunity came which would give him that exact fame and fortune. He acts as though he doesn't want it, but you can tell a guy like this (with his ego) wants nothing more than that! Given his and Kurt's relationship, ie teacher - student like, it must of super pissed him off the fact the student outdid the teacher. I have been brought up his type way too many times in the small shit town i live in, so i know exactly the type of guy he is 😂. His music will never be as good as Nirvana's, and i bet is pisses him off still (you can tell anyway how he acts in interviews) that Nirvana achieved what they did, whilst his band stayed at the level it did 😂😂😂 Lol.
