Not really, because the monarchy brings in far more revenue than they cost. The total annual contribution to the UK economy from the royal family (through tourism, media, etc) is about $1.7 billion/year. They generate an additional $200 million/year profit for the government directly from their land holdings. They also raise tons for charity as they are patrons to thousands of charities, with the Queen alone having raised $1.4 billion as of 2012. Meanwhile, their costs average to only about $40 million/year lol.
