So both guitars are playing the same riff, but one of them's playing it with out the last note so it's in 13/8 instead of 7/4 right? And everytime they play the riff the second guitar lags behind by an extra note, and they get more and more out of sync until eventually they're exactly one bar apart and they start play at the same time again, it's crazy shit bro, you gotta hear it.
Yeah, sort of. It's been a while, but off the top of my head: they play 4 bars of the 7/4 pattern, and then on the next bar Fripp drops a note (which would create a 13/8 bar) and he immediately goes back to playing the 7/4 pattern until both guitars get back in sync. Next time they play this, they start by doing the 7/4 thing 6 times, Fripp drops a note, and goes back to 7/4. And the last time they play this they play the 7/4 riff 8 times, Fripp drops a note, back to 7/4. The other pattern Fripp plays (the fast one) is tricky too: he modulates it every time Belew goes up on the fretboard, but every modulation ends on a different note because they are playing different time signatures. Guitars are hard panned, if you listen only to one channel it's somewhat easy to hear what they're playing. Even knowing what they play, I think it took me around two months to be able to play this at full speed and making no mistakes, but YMMV.
No recuerdo exactamente la configuración, pero en este caso usé un POD HD. El modelo de amplificador era A30 Fawn Brt (es de una de las expansiones / model packs, emulación de Vox AC30), un compresor, y algo de chorus y reverb. La guitarra es una Ibanez RG1570 stock.
