I have been a King fan for over 30 years. I have seen KD and MF live over 50 times. I was a member of the now defunct fan club, pre internet days, with pen pals all over the world. Ole Bang and Ed Kolarich both considered me an expert. The King himself called me "The King Diamond Encyclopedia". I have tons of pictures, interviews on tape, etc, that are in my collection I most likely will never release. Therefore, when I state something on here, rest assured it is a fact.

loved his music the first time I heard it. I love how his operatic training was cleverly placed into metal music. In parts of his songs he sounds like a crazed ghost or a banshee. I get such a rush of of King Diamond's style of singing. Ive been listening to his music for 25 years.

The album this track is from is the "King Diamond" debut solo album, Fatal Portrait. King Diamond left previous band Mercyful Fate and took the guitarist and bassist with him. Hence the similarities sound.

Indeed. Top notch production, and King's unwavering ear for musical arrangements, along with his ungodly vocals, and the fact that he can sing about subjects such as "halloween" and sound genuine, it all makes for a great listen.
I would also like to add, that many bands of those times used standard D tuning or sometimes even E sharp and the vocals had to be in the similar pitch.
