Scott Malcolm I've put your suggestion to the test. My voice went really high, but only for a few seconds. Oh, the doctor said I'll be able to walk straight up again in a month or so...
Point number one. KD started as a guitarist. He has earned the right to air guitar. Point Two:. He is unique. People may want to copy him, but they can't because his vocals are unique. He is one of a kind. No one can do the falsetto like him .
@@joedirtbag6662 Correction. King _IS_ a guitar player. In Mercyful Fate he, Michael Denner & Hank Sherman wrote all of the music. In his King Diamond band he & Andy LaRoque writes it all.
Oh, yeah? What happens if you throw Mercyful Fate, King Diamond & Dissection into a blender? You get Attic from Germany. Not a rip off band. They are proudly carrying the torch. All hail the motherf*ckin King!....& Attic! LOL! All MF & KD bangers should more than appreciate Attic. ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-imcpM2z1pjg.html
King Diamond can actually play though as well just likes to concentrate on singing. He actually writes most of the music and has Andy play the riffs. Chuck Billy also can play guitar as well as that is what he did before becoming a singer but he's nowhere near as good as Skolnick so just sings as well.
SM LW Years ago, I asked my mate “What does King Diamond sound like” “Well,” he answered, “First he sings very, very high, (falsetto) then he sings very very low (double bass). That’s about it really....”
Since the release of MERCYFUL FATE's first 1982 album, 39 years ago, this man's voice remains powerful and overwhelming. Respecting this man is not enough, we have to venerate him.
Maestro !! Lo escucho desde que era una niña 10años me encanto y supe que desde ahi esto es la diferencia y ahora a mis 40años sigo escuchando a mi Maestro
It seems that satanic imaginery doesn't exactly fit the music. Or is it only my impression? King Diamond sounds like Cirith Ungol or Judas Priest to me.
@@hectorguzman8435 most of them can't. I tried doing this song and bombed. Not as easy as it sounds. Diamond is a legend and is up there with Halford, Dickinson, Dio and Tate in my opinion.
@@EyelessRaven I did back in high school but now at 35 for me is impossible… I could do a couple songs with the band and that was it. Now just a couple notes and I tap out I get tired…
King diamond definite best live performance , Best vocal execution , tight , intense and precise leaving some room for the back vocals's perfect interpretation of her musical line, the sound ingenier and the production team reached out to perfection on this live recording!
I saw King Diamond twice in the 80's and Mercyful Fate once in the early 90's but those shows occurred when King smoked a lot. I saw King Diamond again recently when he was touring for the Abigail album's 30th anniversary which I believe is the tour this footage was taken from, and I must say Kings voice when singing live is far better now that he's quit smoking than back then when he was still smoking. This video is proof of how great he sounds now.
I've been listening to King Diamond's albums since I was about 15 or so, and damn! For about 65, he can still belt those falsetto's out! LUCIFER EXCELSI!!!!
I love this Philly show, I'm from here, still live here and there's a huge metal fan base here !! I love that King gets all respect and that why he filmed the show here! LONG LIVE THE KING!!
I've replayed the intro like 60 times already, that "ooooooh it's Halloween" at the beginning is so good, only king diamond can sing live better than studio haha.
Fantastic. I grew up with King and have been off of his music for years now, so it's great to see him still kicking ass like this. On his last run through the states i thought I'd head out to see him again, but the show sold out in a flash. I never had a chance.
King did an interview with eddie trunk a few weeks ago where he said that they're 98% finished working on the dvd and once that's out (which will probably later this year: summer/fall) they're going to go back in the studio and finish recording a new album which they're hoping to release next year.
I can remember when he sang for Mercyful Fate then started his own band after Mercyful Fate broke up . That was back 30 years or more and his voice is still as strong as it was then .
A F.ing Legend right there!!! He's like fine wine he gets better and better as well as the band Hail to the King. Never sounded any better. Stay heavy King
I bought the album when it came out in 1985! (Cassette)... I saw him live in the early 2000s a couple times in L.A. and he was fantastic with the graveyard stage scene.... looking forward to this DVD!
All hail the KING!!!!! He sounds great. Can't wait for the DVD. I named my daughter ABIGAIL MIRIAM ASHWORTH. He is one of the all time greats. His wife sounds great on back up vocals.
