Huge shoutout to my father for doing some narration for this video! Asked him to do it to try and capture the spirit of the album and he was more than happy to oblige. Also, can’t say thank you enough to 8-bit Escapades for allowing me to use his 8bit rendition of ELTS!! Please give him a sub and check out his videos! m.ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-7K3LV1e5CJA.html
I've never understood peoples problem with spoken word. King gizz tell stories. I've always loved eyes like the sky its an insane experiment and I'd love them to do another album like it. This album sparked my interest in the band. Also great video my man hope u do more like this
Thanks! Humans are just, by nature, not comfortable with things that are different initially. So I think a lot of the people that write this album off initially, might enjoy it if they go in expecting to like it :)
@@x2xstudios they've confirmed ELTS pt. 2 is written story wise, just waiting for the boys to write the music for it. I hope it happens, fingers crossed
Thank you! And yeah, the concept really drew me in. I think everyone else saying how it wasn't their thing kinda influenced my opinion of my first listen. However, now I love it! Thanks for watching!
I love this album so much! It's so unique and so spot on for king gizz at the same time. It's still not the one that I reach for the most, but everytime I listen to it, feels like a masterpiece. And I also think it'd be so amazing to hear some of the songs live nowadays!
This was my second gizz album after MotU, it definitely helped them in becoming my favourite band. I just loved how their style was always going in totally different directions and how they weren't scared to commit to an idea.
I am not a king Gizzerd fan at all. I have given them a few chances but never fell for their music. But I must say this album is one of the greatest ever made. I totally understand why this does not work with their fanbase however because it’s so different from their sound but I hope that more people outside the gizzerd fandoms finds this masterpiece of an album and gives it a chance!
It would be so neat to see a sequel/ spiritual successor to eyes like the sky, I feel like it has some of the most intense moments and the rhythms are constantly getting stuck in my head in a good way.
The God Man's Goat Lust is goated. So is Sam Cherry. As a metalhead who got into this band a bit late (heard of them since 2016 but they didn't click until the self-titled records/gizztober. Then I went back with feverish hunger for more, everything from elbow to extinction) I wish I could go back in time and find them sooner. The first time I heard Evil Man, I remember that was the moment where I was transported to this world, this story, and felt completely immersed. It's a lovely story, a lovely album, and thank you for being a champion of it and producing this video celebrating it. R.I.P. Broderick Smith, you legend.
It’s always tough with gizz to be unbiased and have criticism when I enjoy the band so much, but this album was beautiful and the storytelling is a strong suit I hope they return to soon!
I literally can’t say any bad shit about any of their stuff lmao. Even Quarters, which is my personal least favorite if you HAD to make me pick, I can say I love and would listen to anytime.
Great video! I really enjoy Eyes Like the Sky, the narration doesn't bother me at all, the story is based loosely on the true story of Herman Lehman who was kidnapped and raised by Apache Indians in 1870. Like you Murder of the Universe is one of my very favorites and I enjoy the narration on both of these records, trying something different seems to be the Gizz way of doing things. Thanks for an awesome retrospective. Peace!
Hey, I'm doing a speech on ELTS for my speech class and I wanted to get your approval to directly quote some of the lines you use in this video. I know this prolly isn't the most efficient way of asking but idk any other way to reach you. Thanks dawg, keep it up great vid
True but it’s the only social media I use aside from RU-vid. I also like using it because they offer much better poll and survey options. Lol I love the Sam cherry last shot pun
