Idk if it’s just me , but it’s so fun to see Stu singing songs they don’t normally sing like It’s Got Old etc, to see him sing about normal things is actually really fun because he’s such a great fantasy surrealist writer. It would almost see him do a bunch of covers
💯 I respect their no cover deal so much but at the same time it also kind of stings knowing how epic they would be. Do yourself (and anyone reading this) a favor and check out check out Lucas’s wedding set if you’ve never seen it … audio kind of sucks but on a good stereo it’s so fucking worth it !
agreed! it’s been nice too on this current tour hearing him comment a bit on the songs that aren’t super conceptual-how Silhouette is about being who you want to be, and how Slow Jam 1 is about those days where you feel your brain chemistry is just fucked. I really admire Stu’s more fantastical work but it’s really nice when he comes back down to earth with stuff like that
it would be so awesome if they integrated little acoustic portions into their normal shows. Explode my ear drums with Planet B or Motot Spirit and then pick up the acoustics to play some God Is In The Rhythm
Agreed, that would be amazing! I think the reason they don't do it is because it adds an extra layer of gear they'd have to either lug around from show to show while potentially only using it a smaller percentage of the time, or having to rent it in each city with an acoustic gig, which I'm pretty sure is how they're approaching it on this upcoming tour in Brighton, Detroit and San Diego.
Absolutely! I want heavy metal into jazz stuff from sketches then into blues then into acoustic then into microtonal. As they get older I think the will get more versatile as they keep playing and get older.
Oh man! I was at this show! Was my first KG show! Crazy night. The show was almost cancelled because of lightning. It started about 2h late. We had to leave, go to our cars, then line back up to get back in. Was all worth it to see this!
Thank you for this video it was my introduction to gizz after searching “trippy rock music” to put on after I ate mushrooms lmao since then they became my favorite band and I even drove out of state to see them live for my first time recently. Definitely the best band around right now. Also completely obsessed with their amazing opener geese lol
Damn dude I finally got around listening to this. Love going deep on quarters ( so lucky everyone here heard lonely steel sheet flyer) for a while throwback to some dope cuts on oddments and paper mache, the best gizz jazz song the wheel. This is so cool. Best acoustic concert has to be microtonal acoustic night. I see a lotta acoustic microtonal shit on RU-vid and I could not imagine them jamming like this on rattlesnake or other microtonal stuff
The Brisbane '21 live album on Bootleg Gizzard spotify is an acoustic set. You should check some of the recordings from the Brighton '24 gig, I was there and it was incredible. Witchcraft folk/acoustic version was mental!
they played it on their first time ever in Argentina and it blew as away. Then even played Hot Wax. Didnt expect two songs off Oddments but it was incredible!
i think more close up shots can be used here, if your going to film a whole set, a lot of personality can be shown in how musicians act in between song. Ive found that It make the audience lean to love the people who are playing, as well as giving the experience of feeling like you are at the concert for the whole ride. If showing the audience is the goal then id say do close ups of faces as well, showing the whole area can be good a couple times but if not very visually interesting. On another note, the shot selection for songs were great, and the color correction was very good.
One of my favorite live videos of this band, awesome edit! My man, where did you get the concert in video? I cannot seem to find a full video of this night
@@kylebratton3945 Sounds more like Joey to me. Idk tho, just my opinion. It's also my opinion that Ambrose is a great singer, but to each their own. :-)
