This band is gonna be what Pink Floyd and Led Zeppelin are now. They are gonna be legend status. We are all fortunate enough to experience them, be grateful.
Robin Ferris that’s true. Rock music isn’t really part of the spotlight anymore. Whenever I say I like indie rock or garage rock people look at me weird.
It's official, King Gizzard have transformed into Greek Lizard Space Gods. I for one have decided to accept the stories of the gizzverse and polygonawanaland as truth and my religion.
Sort of. However if one is playing 5/4 and another playing in 4/4, every 10 measures they line back up with both downbeats coming at the same time again. Polyrythemic. Much to do with the fractal nature of this album. Also that it tells a story of an ancient civilization and that's somehow tied to the polyrythmic nature of it. Super cool stuff they've done with this entire album, and I can't stop listening to it.@@uitham
This band's aesthetic and artistic image is so well-constructed even though it's so vague and hard to communicate. It's all in the colors: red and green. It's heavy metal, but it's so much more than just that. I don't want to be a crumbling castle!
For us 1990s kids who grew up in Australia, one of the biggest fads through the 1990s was hologram everything. 1990s Holograms have this weird colour shift, between red, orange and green. It's clearly the main inspiration for their colour aesthetic. In the track Rattlesnake, the eyes, are actually from Hologram Swim goggles we had in Australia called Sea Demons.
i like how the most replayed part according to youtube is the start. probably because as soon as people finish the song they go back to the start to listen to it again hahahahaha.
Meet me glassy eyed, blind, and divine Hold down the fort on the coastline The castle is a pimple on the face of the world A humble spot for tracks to drop if you listen I see through the bricks, to the sea, crumbling castle Water's rising up, thick and green, crumbling castle Inching closer each century, crumbling castle Are we safe in our citadel? Look upon our condition, crumbling castle You would not believe where I'm from, crumbling castle We pray for the death, that does not come, crumbling castle Dug all of our holes in God's Acre, crumbling castle We have even said our last rites, crumbling castle Are we safe in our holding cell? Look upon our condition, crumbling castle We head to our extinction, crumbling castle The sounds of the constant lightning Would be enough to block out the Fall of the end of the world if it were Not for the tinnitus from the bomb In the wind I sway, back and forth I'm brittle as an aged human being When my walls are safe from wild weather The filth forms into great nastiness Polygondwanaland I don't want to be a crumbling, crumbling, crumbling castle I don't want to be a crumbling, crumbling, crumbling castle I don't want to fall into dust I don't want nothing but to live on The ache inside my keep spurs me on I don't want to be visible Polygondwanaland I don't want to be a crumbling, crumbling, crumbling castle I don't want to be a crumbling, crumbling, crumbling castle On this very day, in one thousand Years the earth will be relative to the Sun and the moon and a new world will be Created, I know because it is written here I see through the bricks to the sea, crumbling castle Inching closer each century, crumbling castle Water's rising up, thick and green, crumbling castle Are we safe in our citadel? Look upon our condition, crumbling castle You would not believe where I'm from, crumbling castle I don't want to be a crumbling, crumbling, crumbling castle Don't want to be a crumbling, crumbling, crumbling castle Don't want to be a crumbling, crumbling, crumbling castle Don't want to be a crumbling, crumbling, crumbling castle
I was sleeping with automatic RU-vid playing videos... Suddenly... randomly I came here ... automatically... The sound , the music...the lyrics awoke me....the first throughs I had was : wooowwww what is this song ? Since I cannot sleep and I listen this in infinite loop. Wooow this is a slap .
It's been only a few days since I bought a copy of the Brunswick East album (which, by the way, is awesome), and already they have a new song out (and it's over ten minutes long). These guys are extremely talented and have an amazing work ethic!
I sat here stoned out of my mind watching this and I felt like I lived a lifetime in the nonagon infinity. This shit was intense. Especially the ending. I am exhausted and deeply pleased and at peace. The castle that is my mind definitely has crumbled alright.
In the presence of a mirror, my sensory foax-organs detect discontent on my facial image. I cry a digital tear. Motor fluid. Escaping to the floor, it reflects my silhouette. Frigid, slouched, callous. My smell escapes me. A rancid odour. I am everywhere. I am light. I am a reflection. I am that which I am. And I am violent. And I want it to end. Stillness from the grinding gears. I am a raging droid, with a full tank of propellant. Flick the switch. Turn them off. Standby. Cut the cord. Death is a lamb in a wolf’s clothes. A blessing from the lord satan. I am on the altar. I want it. The saccharine of eternal rest. I wish to consume it’s sickly syrup, and lick it from my many fingers. Take me into the moonless night. I need it. Any way I pass will do. - The Han-Tyumi text from the facebook post
Loving this psych out ... it's got a real desolate kraut-rock / proto prog vibe.... like it's fallen out of some time warp from Eastern Europe or one of the Balkan nations in the early 70's.... more vocal harmonies though guys... that's the next step.... This is sooooo cool !!!!! Awesome beats and noises....!!!
@Zal Moxis Now that you mention it, some elements - not sure what in particular - sound like something the Czech band Blue Effect would have come up... Even if the overall style is definitely different, I recommend you check out the album Nová Syntéza / New Synthesis (/watch?v=sA33UBVUWNM) - released in 1971, it's still a musical gem worth attention as it mixes psychedelic jazz with rock... seriously, give it a go!
I’m working my way through the discography. When I was on album 3 I was thankful I heard one of their good ones. I’m on album 6 and every random album I’ve picked is my new favourite. It’s so astounding! It surely can’t continue
is it confirmed that he did actually just fry his brain, because syd was able to write a whole song about how the band treated him like he wasnt there, like that takes some brain capasity and someone who fried their brain might not have been able to do
@@grumbu5 he kinda did fry his brain. He went missing for a couple of days, I guess with a group of guys that did nothing but drop acid. the Floyd said he was never the same. Like a light went off in his head. He would just stand there while they were trying to play shows. Or not show up at all. They had to get Dave Gilmore in the band as a back up just in case syd would refuse to play. Eventually they just stopped picking him up since he was kinda holding them back. It’s pretty sad. I don’t the think it was the bands fault he was left behind. If you watch the making of wish you were here they talk about it in depth. They show pics of him and he looked pretty rough they think he had schizophrenia
@@aaronweekley8647 schizophrenia. look it up. dont be a turd. Floyd were a serious band. they didn't mess about on the party scene. they made psychedelic music because thats what was popular in the moment. They wouldn't find their sound until after Syd left. Syd is not, nor ever was, the genius behind Pink Floyd. Their first 3 albums sucked and every one of the band members have said so themselves in various interviews and books over the last 50 years
@@aaronweekley8647 Gilmour recounts that during the sessions for Wish You Were Here this guy wandered into the studio and hung out in the background. It took a while before the band recognized him as Syd. It hit them real hard.
Fuck yeah! This is brilliant'- It takes something great for a jaded 64 year old man to say that. Takes me back to my wacky weed prog rock days of the early 70s. Shit hot.
Fun fact, according to band members, this album is actually in the public domain! Another fun fact, do not try to sample this until you've done four decades worth of studying in music theory! Trust me I've tried
The intro verse/beat/whatever is the kinda music to play when the nerdy/smart character explains his plans to beat the bad guy to the rest of the main characters
I am listening to this magnificent composition while the city is being attacked with missiles. the text grandiosely lays down on the canvas of the moment.
This is just awesome, and i mean that in the original sense of the word. I feel like I've just been on a journey to the end of the universe to see the evil god who lives there.
I vibe so hard to them. Its been a while for my old ears...but im awake now and listening. I never thought i hear it again before the end of kali yuga. Thx australia.
As someone with bad ADHD the video is so fucking soothing I have no idea why, especially when it drops faster at 8:12 my brain finally, for a brief period, shuts the fuck up and I weirdly have quiet in my mind. Great video.
