Thomas Beerdsen elevates to become a Grand Master (yeah!), only to find out that he needs to be able to figure out that an imprecise pawn move to C5 in the middle game will lead to checkmate in 15 moves. Wow. It's tough to be a grand master.

Bruh, Nodirbek's calculation is so scaryyy!!! I knew he plays really sharp lines but h4 h5 just to punish the c5 pawn move was just crazy!!! I have never seen something like that before (well, maybe once in awhile when suddenly went ultra instinct mode lol) He's just one of my favourite player!!

Abdusattorov preps become more and more deep and strong. The game he won against Arjun three days ago and now this. He managed to put his opponents in difficult situations where they had to find the best move every move, which is either impossible or very time-consuming.

Such a Common tactic in a lot of games I’ve played bringing the Bishop to Bishop h3 against white or Ba3 either when the pawn in front of king is pinned waiting for the player to push the b pawn or g pawn in order to capture the Rook it’s common in games and something I keep in mind just like having the Queen and a Bishop descending on the h2 or a2 pawn I try not to get beat by predictable moves

I can't figure out how far the preparation goes for a Gran Master but if you don't know this very well you don't go for this line. So, does Abdusattorov knows from the start that c5 loses by force? Otherwise why he pushed the h pawn if he doesn't saw the checkmate sequence?
@kolawolelawalson7770
@kolawolelawalson7770 8 месяцев назад
Again, it's a as a result of constant study and insane ability to calculate. Once a grandmaster sees that position before Beerdsen played c5, they'd immediately recognize that the black pieces just can't move. They recognize that theme from studying hundreds (if not thousands) of games. But seeing that h4 punishes c5 is as a result of a bloody good calculation by Nodirbek. He didn't have to calculate all the lines, just had to see what the black position would be like after a few moves.

@sunburn74

It's very impressive. From qb3 check, it was basically hopeless but its remarkable because the position makes it seem like black can defend when in reality because of the pawn pushed, they cannot.

Quick question! Why is Ding lately very inactive in all the top tier tournaments?
@AhsimNreiziev
@AhsimNreiziev 8 месяцев назад
Has he ever been more active in those tournaments than he is now? I think the main problem is that there are a whole lot of major tournaments in Europe and North America, a few in the Middle East, and any Chess Tournament in East Asia isn't really at all known to us Western Chess fans (so would, due to the Western-centric nature of Chess, be considered "very minor"). If the situation was reversed -- or even if there were a few major tournaments in, say, Australia and/or New Zealand -- I think we'd see Ding be a lot more "active" than he is. Jetlag is a bitch.

In the key position, why not Kh9? Unpins the pawn so the Bishop is hanging. Seems that gives Black a few more defensive resources.
@maxmarks3503
@maxmarks3503 8 месяцев назад
I think you meant Kh8? Also nope, because its a forced check mate: ...Kh8. RxF8+ QxF8. Rd8 pins the queen to king. If Qxd8. then Qxg7#. If black plays Bd7. then RxF8+ RxF8. Qxg7+

Rxf8 Kxf8 Rd8+ Qxd8 and now Qxg7+ is NOT checkmate since you have Ke8 and your king escapes. I think, didnt check with computer tough

I am an Aussie. Still proud of Volk, he had to come out more aggressive than the first fight, he may have over corrected but he attacked from the start and got caught by a better fighter on the day. He will have to wait a long time if he wants to have a third crack at Mak unless there was some kind of agreement made when he took the fight at short notice. Maybe he needs a few more fights against other guys at lightweight first. I know he wont just sit back and be satisfied defending his belt. He has no oponent at featherweight. Still annoyed I got up at 5am for a 3 minute fight.
