The second I saw the first episode, I theorized King could be Bill reincarnated and kinda dumbed down as a result. Maybe he doesn't know who he was yet. King _is_ a different person than Bill but he still could be him.

I honestly believe King used to be the boiling isles. The isles are made out of the remnants of a giant demon. King seems to have an ego around that size. So what if he really was the king of demons? The giant one they all live on, and as punishment for hubris or something he was killed and turned into the smallest most over looked creature there. Forced to literally live in the shadow of his former greatness.

You guys all seem to have come to the conclusion that the confirming of this theory will lead to Bill returning as an antagonist, I see a different path. King is what Bill Cipher was before he destroyed his own dimension, before he went too far. Quoting the Axolotl, "Saw his own dimension burn, misses home and can't return." Bill regrets destroying his old 2D home, and so, the Axolotl has given him a second chance. His consciousness has been wiped of all his memories, a hard reset. He has been reborn in a far weaker form, where he will never have the cosmic power to make the same mistake he made before. He is still kinda a maniac, but the kindness that he lost so long ago has been restored. Rather than becoming an antagonist, I see Bill enjoying this new form, this new, intact mind, despite it's limitations. I see him undergoing a redemption arc. I see him leaving behind Bill's legacy and embracing this new life, this second chance, as King.

If this is true it would be the perfect situation to do a Gravity Falls and Owl House crossover! Imagine a 2-3 parter episode where the Pines find the Boiling Isles and both the gangs meet and King gets a flashback of his previous life and then regains his power and previous personality. That would be awesome!

I want to share my theory, my theory is when Wendy and dipper are in the car going through dimension to dimension, you see time baby is evil and destroying everyone, so I imagine that timeline is a world where bill cipher takes over time baby once he dies, ultimately gaining control of the time court and taking his advantage, when. You play bill cipher dying backwards he says he will comeback, the bird that lands on his grave has the same eye as him, this is how I think he’s alive.

I believe that King is how Bill is supposed to repent for his sins. I also think his memory is mostly erased, only having bits and pieces, which is why he thinks he was a king of demon. Which he technically was.

This is actually... really interesting. I thought this theory was gonna be more wierd and fun, and less serious, but it definetly seems plausible. Especially with the Axolotl thing in the book. I have no idea if there's ever gonna be a reveal of this in The Owl House, but its also possible they intended this to be some sort of connection meant to be left up to interpretation.

And I think season 2 comfirmed the theory remember that scene where we saw King inside of an egg don't you think that's actually Bill Cipher coming back but he has to redo all His life again and also the pain of losing everything was even deeper then anything with King since he didn't even meet His father or Any other family member

I would say that king is just a younger version of bill (due to the reincarnation) and hasn't experienced enough stuff that would make him behave like bill before being reincarnated

Bill Cipher is my favorite Gravity Falls character and King is my favorite Owl House character. This theory is exactly what I needed to see after the ending of Gravity Falls. This video is great!

I actually like this theory and since Dana is Alex’s girlfriend at the moment I have no reason to not believe they would want to cross universes. But what if like king is actually before Bill, like this was his true form before he became Bill? Like if King is sweet now and Bill isn’t maybe something happened to King to make him evil like Bill, kinda like Mina loveberry in Star vs. like how she was really sweet at the beginning and then turned into a crazy psycho in the finale season... I dunno, I think it could go either way. Either King is before Bill and this is Bill’s origin, or it’s like you said and King is Bill reincarnated.

Dude! I just heard a new theory about king formerly being the Boiling Isles, as the Boiling Isles is a rotting skeleton that closely resembles king. And I merged the theories. Here's what I wrote on the other video. My brain is big and found a way to put these theories together. So what if, when Bill died, he was brought back as the Boiling Isles. Bill still having most of his memories, though not quite all of them, rules he demons. He thinks he still has all his powers, picks a fight with the wrong demon, and is killed. Boiling Isles, now being dead, inhabits the demons and monsters and is now the Boiling Isles that we know. Bill/Boiling then reincarnates once again, becoming the fluffy king that we know. By now, he has lost a lot of memories of being bill and now mostly remembers the power of being Boiling Isles, and wanting that back, he will do a lot to get it back. In doing so, he will stumble upon memories of being bill and it will all flood back to him, causing some transformation issues, then giving him the option to stay King, keep his memories and newly rediscovered ones and his friends, becoming the Isles ruining all the demons lives that lived there and everything goes back to how it was, him losing his normal tendencies and bring back the caotic good, or he can become bill cipher once again, losing his memories and friends, once again striking fear in everyone's heart, bringing back his caotic evil, and his psychotic tendencies. What happens after that I am unsure.

You make a very good argument, especially about how king felt about his status. But I don't know if they'll take the story in that direction. My main reason being, Alex Hirsch isn't a writer, just a voice actor.

Remember in the first episode when King gets his crown back he point's at a stuff bunny and say " nightmare creature" that wound mean something about the nightmare realm and that's where bill was before right? So King has to be Bill reborn.

Here's the story of Bill Cipher, everything begins with his old dimension he was the only one that didn't feel flat just like the others including his family so he took the decision of burning down his flat dimension a big mistake that he was going to regret, he started the fire at one spot of his dimension and escaped successfully he didn't care at first but after seeing his old dimension burn he regret it but he couldn't do anything so he just run away until one day he would meet the other demons that we saw at the end of the series and he became the king of demons and a dream demon and he would eventually met the AXOLOTL a cosmic creature that's way more powerful than him and the Baby Time he knew that Bill was sad from the inside but he was lying to everyone and he tell him that if he wants to absorb his crime to a different form a different time he didn't care at all and he left, he would try to get to the third dimension but he couldn't because he didn't have a physical form so he had to make a deal with the mortals, he failed the first time and the second time he would meet Stanford, he would try to trick Stanford to make a portal to different dimensions but he find out his real plans so he closed the portal and days later Stanford would be in the nightmare realm and other dimensions and he would return in 30 years after Gideon invoked him to get the code of the mystery shack and Stanley reopen the portal and couple days later he returned to gravity falls and couple days later he'll have the nightmares of Bill Cipher informing him that the weirdmagedon would come soon and it happened the weirdmagedon begun and the door through the nightmare realm and the third dimension but unfortunately gravity falls would be the only place in the world that has been affected by the weirdmagedon he knew he couldn't leave the town so after he captures him and realizes that he can't leave he tried to convince Stanford to tell him how to break the barrier that keeps him trap and after doing everything to convince him he accepted at the last moment but Bill didn't know it was a trap when Stanley's mind was being deleted he invoked his name AXOLOT at the last moment and he was defeated and all his friends went back to the nightmare realm and make a statue of Bill Cipher that said "he was the worst" and Bill would meet again the AXOLOTL and he reencarneted Bill into a different form a different time and that's where the King birth clip takes place after he was born and named as King they eventually find out that he is not what he seems and after Eda and King became criminals and the guarden would make the poster of wanted they'll make King have the eye of Bill Cipher to let know that he is not what he seems the end.

I may have discovered the biggest secret in all story of animation. Here is my theory, my animation theory!!! : Bill reborn into Stan to solve the crime of his previous life thanks to Axolotl, destroying Bill and find the happyness he never had as Bill and protecting his family as he didn't as his previous himself and after all these years the died, ultimatly becoming the king of demons.

Came back to rewatch and I have new info. Gravity Falls takes place in 2012. The Owl House most likely takes place in 2020. King is said to be at least 8 years old.

Their possibility that Bill have back up plan after he reborn that lead him remember and regain his power. He could have created a creature that could restore it master to fulfill it life if ripe in time and space

Yo if King is Bill reborn, that previous theory episode where you speculated Eda & Stan Pines were an item, could be tied moreso into King’s origins. Like let’s assume the narrative you proposed in the last video were to actually happen - I.e. Luz goes through Eda’s Magic door to the human world to get some new inventory for her shop, ends up at the Mystery Shack and it’s a field day meeting all the Gravity Falls characters. Let’s add to that and say Eda tells King to go along with her, just to have her back, and they both go to the Mystery Shack. Depending on where GF’s narrative is decidedly visited would determine who’s at the Shack still, cuz for this theory to work (King being Bill 2.0) the finale’s events would have needed to happen, or at the very least Bill’s defeat would have. This would mean, Dipper, Mabel, and probably Ford & Stan would probably all be away. Maybe both pairs of Pines Twins revisit the Mystery Shack for a sorta summer family reunion, Soos is now running the Shack, and suddenly Luz and King crash the party. Maybe Dipper & Mabel guide Luz around the woods to see some of the mysterious stuff they found in their time their, and King just becomes lazy and either stays behind to pester Ford and Stan, or wanders off and finds that crumbling Bill Cipher statue in the woods, interacts with it and regains some memories or something…Though I don’t know if they could make a crossover episode like this hold THAT much weight to the overarching narrative, but then again, how often do the creators of two beloved shows - owned by Disney none the less - just happen to be dating too?! I’m intrigued to see more of the Owl House, and whether or not something even remotely like this becomes a reality😋

My theory is that King got a curse by another demon, and became Bill, like how Eda was cursed. Because I don’t want my King to be evil 🥺🥺🥺

Luz's dad isn't in the picture, we never know the twins parents ethnicity, what if the two divorced, the dad got the twins, the mom kept the baby, and with the difference in time being unknown, and the fact that luz is 14, the twins turned 13, dipper and mabel would be 27 and out of the picture. it would explain luz's fondness for enthusiasm(mabel) and her obsession with wierd things, books, and taxidermy(dipper/ford/stan). just random ideas, would be good for a fanfiction but my writing sucks!
