In this skit Beulah and Steffie learn about King Jehoshaphat. He was a very good king who trusted God and followed His ways throughout his reign as the king of Judah. However, he kept teaming up with the wicked leaders of the Northern Kingdom of Israel. Because of his partnership with King Ahab and his two sons, God had to rescue him on two occasions. Jehoshaphat learned the hard way that the wrong friends can get us in a lot of trouble.
Memory Verse:
And whatever you do, do it heartily, as to the Lord and not to men (Colossians 3:23 NKJV)
Lessons Taught:
• King Asa had a foot disease
• King Jehoshaphat destroyed idols
• Jehoshaphat sent priests throughout Judah to teach the Book of the Law
• The other nations were afraid to make war with Jehoshaphat
• Jehoshaphat became strong and successful
• Jehoshaphat’s son, Jehoram married Athaliah, who was King Ahab and Jezebel’s daughter
• King Ahab was the king of the Northern Kingdom and was one of the most wicked kings in the history of Israel

• Jehoshaphat requested that they ask a prophet of the real God
• Michiah prophesied that Ahab would be killed in battle
• Ahab had Michiah put into prison until he returned from the battle safely
• Michiah said that if Ahab returned safely then he had not spoken for God
• Ahab went to battle disguised as a regular soldier but he asked Jehoshaphat to wear his kingly robes into battle
• The Syrian soldiers were told to only go after King Ahab
• They mistook Jehoshaphat for King Ahab and chased after him but he cried out to God for help
• Ahab was struck with a random arrow during the battle and died at sundown
• God sent a prophet to tell Jehoshaphat that he shouldn’t have gone to battle with Ahab
