A dowser told us where to dig for our water well and 23' down a good stream was hit. Good water.

3:38 through to 5:11 he shows how the rod goes to his body. If you watch his hand it pulls up slightly. I do not doubt dowsing as I have seen it work for me. I just don't like when something is done for the cameras. If filmed as it happens, it would be much better

Interesting blog and topic. I am still pretty new to dowsing. I am in Africa and there is a lot of gold around. I just made my rods from wardrobe wire coat hangers. And started dowsing. I would ask people to hide things and I would look for the stuff with my rods. Then I was refining the process and then wen off to my gold claim on admission to look for the gold veins. The main thing I would do was simply to talk to the rods (after observing some religious practice) and ask it questions and the rods would respond strongly as I would be walking. For example, I would ask, I am looking for a gold bearing being that has a grade of about 20 grams per tonne and the nearest to the surface within this area. Then the rods would point But the thing is when I would ask for the depth, it would say around 25 metres deep and the being about 2 metres wide, going 45 degrees etc. So it was my first time and you know the process and expenses of digging 25 deep and blasting is quite costly. So I just need assurances and testimonies from others that it works. I would be left with an egg in my face if i try it then find nothing! Has anyone ever got that deep?

Hello, I wish you well with dowsing - I don't know if it works or not but the cost of digging a big hole on the "word" of the rods was what stopped the search I filmed. Thanks for your interest.

err, it was filmed as it happened - how else could it be filmed? I think you mean faked and you are wrong. When you write something please be clear about what you mean.

The historical record tells us King John saw his baggage train go down. if that is so, and it seems to be so, we can determine exactly where he was when he did see it happen, as the place is still in existence I'm told.. If you can find that place, you can see the exact area where the train was lost, and that is where I would begin my search. I am fairly certain I know where John stood, but I don't live there, so am unable to search. The tide tables for that day would come into play here, and I had a friend work that out years ago. It would be easy enough to work out again, but the big problem would be getting proper permits to search the spot. Searching for this treasure has almost been a cottage industry for centuries, and it still goes on. One could take his place in history if he could locate anything substantial from the baggage train, assuming that the sand hasn't pulverized everything to dust.

Hi John, Happy New Year. I think Walton came to similar conclusions but the problem is that if there are remains they will be under around 20-30 ft of sand - too deep for metal detectors and difficult for ground penetrating radar. Also, there are records that suggest and lot was retrieved at the time. So who knows but watch out for a BBC doc on the Magna Carta later this year that uses some of my footage.
@johnsmith9782
@johnsmith9782 9 лет назад
Andy Humphreys The part about some of the baggage train goods were retrieved is news to me. I would be interested to know the reference source for that, if you have it. Suggest may be the key word, which may mean a number of things. If part was recovered, I would have thought that that fact would be common knowledge today, a part of the legend. It is reasonable to me from the record, to presume that John was in St. Mary's Church tower, and saw the tide inundate his train from there. Good luck on getting your footage used.

John Smith Hello John, I am no expert in this subject but the book I have is King John by W L Warren, Yale University Press, and draws extensively from the Patent Rolls. Appendix 3 looks at the 3 main accounts of the event which do not tally. In other words nobody really knows, but the end sentence talks of a priest who went to say mass for KJ on his death and told the abbot of Coggeshall that he had "seen men leaving the city laden with loot."

filmed in 2003 it said at the end. Well we're nearing the end of 2017 and the elusive King Johns treasure has yet to be found. Had to laugh at Jim the dowser, you could tell he's thinking "For crying out loud, another stupid question, when are we going inside coz I'm freezing out here and gagging for a stiff drink".
@Theandyhumphreys
@Theandyhumphreys 7 лет назад
Errrrr...... the "treasure" has been elusive for the last 800 years....if it was not retrieved the day after it tipped into the boggy sand. As for Jim, he was all for finding it and was not "freezing". It was Autumn shortly after the harvest - as I'm sure you will have spotted by the state of the field - and still warm. Thank you for your interest.

A good mystery story - can it be true?
@edwardneilloftheclanmacnei7057
Maybe something like a robot or a type of special machinery with a drill and like a vacuum type thing that can safely suck the treasure up that can easily get out of the quick sand or bog without anyone getting stuck in it, so then archeologist can safely work on the treasure of King John when all the treasure is out.
@Theandyhumphreys
@Theandyhumphreys 5 лет назад
The main problem is finding the location of the "Treasure" - if it exists and not retrieved by local scavengers the following day. Thanks for your interest.
@edwardneilloftheclanmacnei7057
@@Theandyhumphreys like I suggested to someone on another video about this lost treasure, if you ever watched Thunderbirds when they used that big drill thing called the mole I think it was called that can travel far and safely underground that is man driven, but also have special raiders and metal detector on it with something to suck the treasure into as well. You would be able to find the treasure more easily before someone else finds it. It be the sort of machinery I would invest in to find treasure in places where it's hard to get.

I have question and I lived in Newark. why??!!! when King John's destination was Lincoln.. why did he go to Newark?? I'm confused. you see ..... to travel from Holbeach to Lincoln he headed along what is now the A17. when he gets to sleaford the A17 continues towards Newark *19.1 miles* or the turn off the A17 to continue to his original destination along what is now called the A15 to Lincoln **18.3* miles . the point is if he was I'll Lincoln was nearest that Newark ... so why Newark
@grahamfisher5436
@grahamfisher5436 3 года назад
if hed arranged for his baggage train to go to Lincoln, why go to Newark.. there's nothing in distance from sleaford to Newark as sleaford to Lincoln.. surely especially being taken seriously ill, hed go straight to Lincoln.. why Newark
@Theandyhumphreys

Hello Graham, You know the area more than me. But consider that the area was very different then than now - marsh and bog - so detours for the baggage train inevitable. Also, they may have been avoiding hostile barons. But my recollection when making the short film/pilot was that John was not with the train at the time of the debacle, he had gone on ahead. The effect on him of the loss of the train was immense and perhaps he was taken to Newark to help recovery. There is plenty of info available if you wish to dig deeper. The BBC Anglia used much of my material in a docu. called: The Last Journey of the Magna Carta King" Thanks for your interest.

Hi Janus. Sorry you couldn't find the last section - all three links are in the text section but also see below. These were up loaded when YT had a short time limit. You sound desperate to see it - so that's good and I hope you enjoy it. In the end the excavation did not happen so we could not find a sponsor for the film. But the BBC Norwich came along about 8 years later and made a film on KJ's loss of the baggage train and used a lot of our material. Thanks for your interest. I'm just a average person who has a very strong idea as to the ***field*** its buried in.. and as soon as I can travel again (lock down)... I'm going there to see if my idea has anything to it ... I've thought ... if I was king john?! what would I do?? where would I put it and why? and what landmark can be used by myself or someone else, to easily locate it again?.. where would it be safe from man or floods?.. I've thought about his "known" movements during his time at King's lynn and its location to the ****field**** and the time frame he had before he left for Lincoln.. I think he had a plan thought out!, of how to get the treasure back out and away from the ***field*** at a later date.. I will drive to the exact field .. and have a look and see what I see.. who knows... I do not think he would have left his baggage train, considering his every increasingly dire situation.. with the Scots heading south.. time was limited for john.. he had just collected together his wealth and I dont th think hed risk being separated from it ... so he buried it ... I believe he was planning to .. A ..leave england . with treasure to follow.. in order to re build his army and retake England with the support of kings lynn. or B leave England with treasures to follow and disappear. I think that he was betrayed and poisoned by someone in kings lynn.
