I agree with you. There's something human about him that makes him particularly scary. When I was a kid I had nightmares with the scene where Jessica Lange is waiting in a bar, and Kong slips his hand through the door to grab her, and then she sees his face through the window.
I don't know why nor could ever find out why this scene of the movie scares the living daylights out of me ever since childhood and Lord knows I wish I did know.
Awesome power! Real movie making craft before all the CGI garbage! One thing though...Kong should have saved his energy and just climbed over the wall...afterall, it was what, like 60 feet and he did climb a 1,400 foot or so tower.
What they should have done is used for this for a remake of King Kong vs Godzilla. Just before Kong bust through the gate, Godzilla appears and roars at Kong, Kong turns around and sees Godzilla, the two then fight.

perhaps a little bit obsolete in terms of special effects (not sounds though), but yet the most dramatic, tragic and emotionally powerful of all kong movies (imo) and excellent music as well!
I saw this Kong version when I was only therteen, but still today remember the hurt I felt. A rage against the humans injustice for money, the nature submissed by the men.
You know what would of been even funnier if he tore up the wall in the exact spot where Fred was at an hit fred covering him in straw either killing him knocking him to the ground or even grabbing fred
Well I mean the wall was built specifically for Kong after all ..maybe one day they thought they would invite Kong in for some tea and banana leaves LOL
I noticed that too. They made a fort to keep Kong out. Fine. But then why build a 'King Kong sized' door in front? They'd need a slightly large door for their 'sacrifice the girl' ritual. But nothing close to the size of that door.

Because it's a homage to the giant gate in the 1933 original, and they were there because they had already been built for an earlier film and so they decided to use them.
This particular part the extended one was not on DVD this one got to be on blue ray cut I have the dvd but this part is not on the DVD when he breaks the wall and then that roar incredible but this scene is not on the dvd version this is the part when Charles grodin look up and when he saw king Kong he look at him and he was looking at which way to get out and then here comes Kong with that definition roar it's incredible and then Charles finally got down of the latter and king Kong break the wall but it took longer for him to break the wall with his roar he has and then he finally fell into this trap that scene was not on the dvd I wish it was on the dvd but it's not but this scene what I just saw on RU-vid video was the scariest scene to see
This could be completely another film “The legend of King Kong” with dinosaurs, scorpions and Arsinoitherium. Can you imagine a scene where carnivorous Parasaurolophus catches a sailor from the tree like it was in original 1933 film in scene with sauropod? :DDDD
You should see the EXTENDED cut when they were in INDONESIA and the entire bar scene. My mouth was wide open because when I saw the THEATER VERSION at 4 years old at the EASTGATE MALL in 1976 Chattanooga TN before they built the HAMILTON PLACE MALL. ON EVERYTHING I LOVE ❤️ SELAH
I'm pretty sure the scene was never shot with music. I've seen a couple of versions of this film, and thinking back I don't ever recall even hearing music here. Frankly, the lack of music just adds to the tension anyway.
