You know, it warms my heart to know that even 90 years after his creation, Kong is still just as beloved as ever. On top of that, the MonsterVerse Kong is my all time favorite iteration of the character. Well done guys.
Mine as well. I love the fact that the character is finally able to be in a world bigger than himself and all of the milestones that this iteration of Kong has achieved are amazing and I look forward to whatever the future holds for the character.
That’s clearly a lie. Godzilla is so much more beloved that it’s ridiculous. It’s to the point where people forget Kong started this whole giant monster Titian thing.
I like the idea that Kong's parents didn't get as big as he did was because they themselves were very young when they had him. Kong lived in a relatively peaceful time after his birth. He was born in war, sure, but after all that was over, he was able to protect himself and had various skirmishes over the years but all-out war wasn't his entire life the way it was for his ancestors. So he was able to grow beyond the heights of his kind as a consequence of the peace his parents were able to win for him even though they perished.
Legendary Kong is over grown of his species. When he was teenage he was big as or close to his parents size. Now his big as his ancient versions from Hollow Earth.
@@Kenany1985 which is what I said. When you live in constant war the way his parents did, your odds of getting to full size are slim. His parents died young for their species so of course, their son survived and was able to keep growing. He wasn't in war. He had skirmishes. Then the final battle with the Big One and from there, he was without any real threat.

When Kong's final moments were on the Empire State Building, he used it again to say "beautiful" when the planes that were firing at him ceased fire and he stopped for a moment.
I like that they went with the axe. It makes Kong the rocky of the story and we already know from 2017 Kong that he can use and build weapons. The axe also connects Kong to his ancestors and Godzilla him self.
I remember when I went to the cinema in 2017 to watch KSI, I was amazed at what I saw! I was just a kid, in my head I didn't expect another Kong to appear in CGI, and It was also in this movie that I became a fan of Godzilla and his universe because of the post credit scene
@@bro-be3bd even though I was a godzilla fan around the time of 2017 I enjoyed ksi alot more than g14. My only exposure to kong back then prior to 2017 was the 2005 film so seeing a bipedal kong in action was a dream come true for me since I prefer kong walking upright over moving like a legitimate gorilla.
This is by far the best incarnation of the character. He finally breaks free from the shackles of Merian C. Cooper's "Beauty & The Beast" story and becomes something far greater, going off on adventures, finally becoming a true kaijū himself and battles other kaijū as well, retains his classic 1933 Marcel Delgado looks while updating it appropriately, and his 2.0 design is straight up badass. I love that this Kong, much like Godzilla, wastes no time springing into action and kicks ass every single way. • Also, this needs to be said: It's funny how people claim that the axe is BS, that it's "giving Kong a cheat code" or whatever, but the funny irony here is that without the axe _"GODZILLA Vs. KONG"_ would indeed have been a biased fight (in Godzilla's favor) because Kong would have no proper way of defending himself against the beam and would have nothing to stand equal to the King of the Monsters in battle, and how is an underpowered underdog like him is supposed to defend himself against Godzilla's breath (which, by the way, is also a weapon)? Had it gone down that route, then I too would be the one complaining about bias, but for different reasons. 'Sides, it's better than that asspull from the original KKvsG where Kong (taking Frankenstein's place) got lighting powers out of nowhere and is given something that makes better sense and feels more natural to him given that, y'know, he's an ape and highly intelligent. The crossover fight would surely have been an unfair one-sided match if Kong _wasn't_ given the axe.
Well technically it should be bias to Goji he is heavier more durable more physically powerful has more battle experience has near equal intelligence and is a living nuclear reactor with an atomic breath which isn't technically a weapon by some definition but I do see where your coming from with that but unlike the axe it is a naturally occurring reaction in the Godzilla species. Compare this to Kong who is quite literally a big hairy monkey (such hair being flammable meaning that Godzilla could evaporate any water or liquid that would prevent fire and set the fur on fire and cause Kong to burn). This all together surely no one should have even expected Kong to have an even fight and the people who did just did so because they like the big monkey more than the living nuclear reactor lizard
Woohoo, the Monke finally gets his profile. The Monsterverse Kong is incredible. The first time I actually started loving Kong. Prior to King Skull Island and GVK, I was never really into Kong or any other Monster,bc Godzilla was always my hero. But after seeing how heroic, tragic and badass he is, I loved him. It's great how he features the features the traits of the original King Kong, Peter Jackson's Kong as well as the other versions too, while being distinct in his own right. Super stoked to see him in the upcoming Monsterverse entries.

Kongs older design is dope💯 I am so glad that they are continuing the monsterverse with a Godzilla vs Kong 2 [rumored Son of Kong]. I think the greatest challenge to Kong (besides Godzilla) would be Camazotz. He literally preserved King Ghidorah's leftover storm for two years and was able to use his titanlike telekinetic powers to combine both storms and condemned the island to darkness and death.He did all of that from under Skull Island btw. The fight that took place between Kong and Camazotz in the comic was a thrilling experience as well. Luckily Kong saved the Iwi and the Monarch members. P.S. word has it that Mothra and Camazotz might be natural enemies. He might end up killing Mothra based on his prophecy, "A darkness will swallow the world. And the King of the Deep will rise and rise, and the sun will die on his tongue." All in all Wikizilla I like this video.

*Well done (👏)!* The Monsterverse version of the _Eighth Wonder of the World_ has really grown on me since he first appeared in 2017, and is now one of my favorite iterations of Kong (😊). I'm anxious to see what his adventures in the upcoming "Skull Island" series and the "GVK" sequel will be like.
Kong is my favorite in the Monsterverse. He's like Batman in DC universe. No power but has a plot armor that'll help him go toe to toe against formidable foes. I always love underdogs.

1933’s OG is really Hollywoods 1st blueprint on the big budget adventure film that we know today. This film inspired everyone including EIJI TSUBURAYA who much later in 54 created his own. These 2 characters transcend anything that will ever be done in cinema, because of what they represent 🖖
When Son of Kong was first rumored, I opposed the idea. But rewatching Godzilla vs Kong, and hearing that Adam might return to direct it, I think it would be beautiful and a great step for Kong's character. Adam Wingard's best qualities in GvK were the visuals and the interpretation of Kong and Jia.

The best and most enjoyable character and kaiju if the monsterverse. He is a monke,uses the dorsal plates of his enemys' diseased ancestors and has just the best fight scenes. Truly a blessing to the MV. Sad how he got portrayed in GvK
Kong is definitely my fav. His attributes feel so natural and raw. Design in the MV looks so damn gritty, love it. Brute force mixed with intellect and improvisation. Just wished the MV would stop enforcing unnecessary plot armor. GvK portrayed him poorly, but it was still nice to see him. Having serious doubts about his next entry. Son of Kong...the title itself and Adam in the project, yikes. Nonetheless, great work on the kaiju profile.
Yeah, I'm not sure if Adam Wingard is the right director for a Kong movie. Also, I hated how the humans kept bailing him out. He should be able to defeat a couple of kamazots, or whatever they're called, without the humans saving him. As a Kong fan, I was a bit disappointed with his portrayal in GvK
For titanus Kong he is alpha of hollow earth and skull island and they should also do a backstory of how his whole tribe died and I call skull crawlers death crawlers sometimes and I read birth of kong all parts and he should use behemoth as a horse it would be cool
Adam Wingard explains the fights he says "Godzilla took Kong seriously when the axe came to play in the second round" plus the novelization also makes it clear Godzilla took Kong seriously but not in a way "This needs to die" sorta way since Kong wasn't Godzilla's main target but he took Kong as potential threat where Godzilla didn't care whether Kong lived or died.

It's actually mind blowing to see King Kong destroy MechaGodzilla this time. I knew that he has more mortality than Godzilla, but I forget how durable, adaptive, and strong he has become. At least the Monsterverse Kong isn't a bad guy who's obsessed with blondes.
The MonsterVerse version has potential but has so far been very mistreated and downplayed. Hasn't been a very satisfying experience to say the least. King Kong deserves better.
The end result in G v K is one of the best versions of Kong that Hollywood has ever produced. The inconsistencies of story and his size make it difficult to really appreciate though. Legendary's writers are clearly making it up as they go - which is both a pro and a con I suppose.
Bet you didn't know this, but when King Kong grabbed that HEAV ship, he looks into it first, this is because he's trying to make sure Jia wasn't in there, and when he found she wasn't, he crushed the ship.
Godzilla vs Kong took a lot of liberties with the Hollow Earth source material. The real Hollow Earth looks nothing like that. They don't even call her planet Agartha.
Though Godzilla and Kong fought each other, they team up against Kevin/Mechagodzilla. Godzilla and Kong parted ways after their sign of gratitude and respect. Kong lives in a new home in a hollow earth. While Godzilla returns new home where Tiamat fought him.
Have you guys ever thought about doing the ultra series monsters? There are a ton of different kaiju and monsters within the series so I think it might be a good idea
This is the only version of the character still continued to live, while the previous incarnation of the character in other films died in a similar way (kill by firing bullet from biplanes)
If only Pipeworks was still around and able to make more Godzilla fighting games. Kong missed out on Unleashed because Universal wanted a million dollars for his use, while Toho only charged 25,000 for each of their monsters (21 or so monsters, still far less expensive together than Kong alone).
I find the theory of since Kong was hunting skull crawlers that tried to answer Ghidorah’s call he went off the island to catch some. Obviously at this point Ghidorah was Godzilla’s main threat so he did not go after him
Remember falling asleep in the theater watching Kong skull island in 2017 lol, it's not a bad movie or anything tho, I think I just fell asleep during the human scenes lol
