Yes people, multies arent hard, from a pure rhyming perspective. But making true connections and having dual meanings that do connect to a topic is where the genius comes in. He just broke down basic steps to begin.
Reverse pattern rap, so that's what you call it. I noticed something special from Los just from this alone. One of the most creative things I've heard in a while actually. Man, music has progressed so much. You have Lupe and Ab-Soul bringing a whole new meaning to double entendres/wordplay/metaphors, you had Elzhi bringing rhyming to a whole new level, J. Cole and Kendrick are currently bringing that hard flow and deep feel to their music as well as keeping it real, and then you have Los who is straight up revolutionizing punchlines and bars. I dare anybody to say hip hop is dead. There are people who are carrying on Nas, Eminem, Pac, Big L, etc's style and progressing even further from what they did. All I can say is that hip hop is in good hands.
Revok Sixth Yeah they're good too, I'd prefer hearing double entendres from Ab or Lu but Joey definitely has a unique twist to his lyrics. - RIP to STEEZ
Years later. Lupe is straight fire, king Los lives in a volcano.. Even Eminem shit some fire out this year too. I haven't been listening to lupe enough, just found his songs mural and animal pharm this year and I'm blown away. He straight fire. Glad to see him mentioned on this video about bars lol he straight up God mode
This man taught me pattern rap by listenin to his music....Zero Gravity entranced me and i been hooked on transfoming my bars since...real inspirational
Lately, I've been finding it much easier to write doing basic schemes, being able to do couplets and the metaphors/wordplay/punchlines/etc. coming off a lot less forced than in the past. Same here about being introduced to multi-syllable rapping by Big L.
The crazy thing is he is absolutely right I mean I could speak from experience the things that he was talking about it when I first started rapping I learn how to do like I never knew that was the name for them like i just knew how to do them and just seening this is crazy and being from Maryland it's even more crazy. Shout out King los man he is truth and this is the second video I have ever seen from him.
To me this man is nice on the mic and he deserves more credit as a MC in hip hop and his freestyles are crazy hot. And on a side note I have a you tube channel type in Russell Mills May 22, 2017 to find me.
Ayo, Los my lil homie thru my brethren Skarr Akbar from way back so niggaz can keep dat negative shit about him. Da lil homie came a long muhfukkn way and I'm damn proud of him. Takes a real G to go thru what he been thru and shine like he do. #thorosalute
I had this same conversation with a friend of mine that raps. I see we on the same page that KL refers too. This shit is a science and a lot of niggas who try to become rappers don't even know the formula ha ha
This man probably the best to do it yo..... He is intelligent.... in the mainstream from 5 years ago until now name 8 rappers on par with his intellect?? You probably cant
actually goes listen to this mans music and really hear it true lyrical rap fans understand but this new generation doesn't he to me and I'm 29 and white so Eminem was one ofy favorites because he was so good and white then there wasn't many white rappers but I grew up on ugk big L 50 cent dmx tupac and biggie because my older family members would listen to them and now I look back like man we just really hurt this artist legacy just by allowing this drug rappers just mumble dumb shit on a good beat and people actually like and buy it when los and others really care about there craft los never changed up he knew lyrical raps where not being looked at anymore he now has a few club style songs because that's only thing radio plays but I just can't explain how good this man is y'all no joke he is the greatest rapper I ever heard
ABBA rhyme schemes, internals, full multi bars; it's not hard. May take longer for some, but it's all about nipping and tucking at your lines, to turn slant rhyming into perfect multies. That's probably the EASIER part of writing. (Granted and INDIVIDUAL can flex their skills by making their multies complicated, so it makes it harder for people to replicate their style. But the core essence of multies? Simple.)
