David Baxter idk its like you give me boss, just because I ended up on something totally different doesn't make it sweet Ig since it's a genuine freestyle it makes it feel more authenticity ...what does leaving have to do with the seasons? is he trying to say because the seasons never stay so they leave? or talking about how the leaves the spring leaves when winter arrives? I felt he could've did more but its freestyle so its good
damn, he's so good it's starting to make me wonder if there isn't a trick to it. like, the amount of time between he hears "leaves" and gets to "i'm the fall, summer, spring, bakwards" is insanely short... he must either see the entire verse, metaphor, and theme already in place, all at once.. or there'sa trick... and the only trick i can think of is that maybe.. and i don't think this is the case... but maybe if you sat down and worked out all the different syllbale sounds of english... then actively memorized tons of rhyme phrases but you indexed them in your head by syllable sound rather than by word meaning or word... so, he hears a word with an "ea" sound and immediately has a hundred canned lines with "ea" sounds to grab out of his head and that buys him time to think about the lines that are on scheme.. i mean i know that's crazy talk.. but it's either that or he can stop time
He just over-practices. Everything you mentioned above I believe is true. It's all been second nature to him for years. He only exercises the muscle now. He's a word monster.
chuc3diesel right, that makes sense. and just 'cause i got interested, i watched a bunch and really paid attention, kept track of how much of it could theoretically be pre-written and was surprised at the %... i mean in retrospect it's obvious but at least for the ones i saw, there were sometimes as many 32 bars that were generic before he would end with 8 that were specific to the environment.... that would get a crazy reaction and he go into another 16 or 32 ones that might be pre-written.. *most* of the time and then there were times when he would just go 32 that were all free-styled... in any event, no matter how he does it, it's impressive.
The human mind actually produces/creates thoughts at a much faster rate than you could imagine. This has been proven through human studies. There is a "human calculator" who can been seen on Stan Lee's "Super Humans". Never underestimate the knowledge and limits of a true Emcee.
***** i think he just thinks quickly...and the last thing you said; he thought "leave(s)..leaf..fall..winter..winner..got it." and the last thing you said is the same reason i may accidentally say "delineate" instead of just "delegate," "capitulate" instead of just "encapsulate," etc etc... lol I'm positive he never even thought about memorizing syllable sounds until he started to actually write them down with intent to be the best rapper around..and in doing that, words just became canned in his brain, as you suggested.
For los to have these actual, DOPE battle rappers with the expression like they gotta shit... Says A LOT about his talent. He would seriously change up the scene if he was to jump in with somebody in KOTD.

His becoming king mixtape sounded like an album. I think It would of done fairly well had it been released as such. But more goes into that than the quality of the music like correct marketing and promotion.

Some of yall talking about his actual songs like he can't make a good track. I admit his studio album was just ok but check out his mixtapes. Especially zero gravity 2 and becoming King. Both are in heavy rotation for me
Some of or even 'a majority' of his songs aren't good seems more accurate, correct? Or am I crazy to say he actually has potential in certain songs... and could make a more impactful album if he gave up on the club bangers. MEANING, not all of his songs are bad. I'm actually pretty much addicted to the first like 5 songs in his newest album (God, Money War). They are structurally beautiful, and all compliment each other in a way though the beats aren't too similar. But what you said, only implies the worst. As if he hasn't made ONE song worth listen... ouch.

Los isn't really interested in battling he already holds the crown for what he does. Writing for others pays his bills and he goes and uplifts youth in cyphers that's what his focus seems to be. Gotta respect that
I know...but I'm saying he's one of the few that battled before that active battlers would love to see get in the ring...I would personally love a match between him and hollow...that would be crazy
na Los vs Hollow or DNA. ..clips is predictable and Diz is up there but sometimes he just yells and does multisyllabic flows...Hollow or DNA are tge only real choices
People talking about Los can't make good music Listen to Zero Gravity II. Shit sounds better than anything mainstream. He gets money for writing for the people who are making "hits".
This old school hip hop right there,outclassing other greats with the ability to be witty while off the top..too bad Rex and daylyt ran this could have been a classic moment..Los ignited it
The type of "reaching" you're talking about is allowed in certain circumstances. One being that you have the flow/delivery to pull it off, which Los clearly does.
King Los should come to battle rap, he may bring battles back to freestyles again, with the beats and it'll be amazing, but still accepting of writtens. Then the rappers will have to actually flow to the beat to win, along with bars, punchlines and personals.
ChronicRiot Yeah, I do. You are too adjusted to this new era of battling, but back in the day, in a pit just playing a beat and freestyling over it AND dissing took true talent, a witty mind and incredibly fast thinking. Today's battlers are too lax, they can't catch themselves when they choke and a very small percentage can even freestyle and MAYBE 2-5 can actually pull magical shit off mid-battle, no prep. That's why no battler who doesn't freestyle is in my top 10. That includes Lux, though I think he's amazing.
Kalamite I see where you're coming from but beats in battles are really not needed and to be honest cause more slip ups and wack shit. Dude above is right, on a beat seems corny. Especially after 8mile. Its true that maybe we've become accustomed to it but that doesn't change the fact that its corny, Things get played out. 80's Outfits are played out same with Punchlines always involving like or as.

I love king Los and he is a amazing lyricist but I wish he would find his own sound and not dumb down his rhymes....... he should do like Wu-Tang, EL-P, DMX, RA The Rugged Man, Jedi Mind Tricks, Nas, Inspecta Deck, or Killah Priest and find himself that sound that will make him different from whatever else is out and be super lyrical with heavy substance.... If this was the 90s Los would be in WU-TANG and up there with GZA or even better....i wish the best for him .......
Its called word association' He studies every word in the dictionary till he masters them' he also learns history. He also studies story making and telling. That Green Juice he drinks got his right and left brain electrified and connected and operating at a higher hertz than you and 99.99% of humans' His left brain sees entire stories associated with the word while his right brain spits them out literally almost at the same time he is thinking it' He is at a level only a small few has achieved' and he is really just having fun' Imagine if he ever got serious' He is very close to GOD body and GOD mind' it is that green juice that has opened up his calcified pineal gland and he can download data from the source at sub zero light speed'.
