@@YTPFLIMS I was thinking they could use an ai to dub over Dale. They have a massive sample size since Johnny did over 258 episodes but is it ethical? They could train an ai to sound just like him but I don't know if they would do that. I think they made Luanne and Lucky move away when Tom Petty and Brittany Murphy died.
Johnny Hardwick is a legend for voicing Dale Gribble. All the features and qualities he bought to the character like Dale's conspiracies, paranoia, and his alter egos made were so hilarious. A couple of my favorite episodes is when Dale thinks Joseph is an alien and when he is bitten by Bobby's raccoon (Bandit) and he thinks he is infected with the rabies. Prayers to his family and friends for the joy he gave us all... RIP Mr. Hardwick aka Rusty Shackleford
Oh no 😥. So sad. Johnny did an excellent job voicing Dale on KOTH. This is a major loss. It will be interesting to see what they will do with the character. In the meantime. Rest in Peace, Johnny. We will miss you. ❤
Especially if they are going to maybe do one or two seasons, in which Dale will finally be revealed to Nancy’s infidelity or he knew all along, but allowed her happiness and played ignorant the entire time. Rip johnny
I never fully got into the show but I always laughed and smiled when I caught an episode visiting relatives over the holidays growing up. Rest in peace Johnny. I'm sure you're getting lots of laughs and smiles in the next life, you'll be missed by many but never forgotten. ❤️
RIP Jonny!! For a man who voiced Dale and worked on King of the Hill. Yet the show being done for 10 years and only reruns or clips on the internet being played. Your role still till today has people enjoying your work. Just show how great of a job and impact you had on the world. You will be missed!!
That’s horrible. He was an amazing voice actor. I was hoping and praying they would release another season of King of the Hill with the original voice actors.😢
@SplendidCoffee0 Yeah. The show won't be the same without Murphy, Petty & Hardwick. If the revival goes through, we'll have Dale for a couple of episodes since Mike Judge confirmed Hardwick completed work. I'll have a really hard time watching without the 3.
Dale was one of the biggest things that actually gave me a smile. I know every line, how it's gonna be delivered but it just worked. When I found out he passed I nearly cried. Still almost tearing up. Johnny, your life meant something. Time to take a well deserved break. Thank you
I am heart broken from his passing but I can't help but to smile for the memories he gave me, bringing a funny character like Dale Gribble to life. He made us laugh and made the show more fun to watch. RIP my friend.
@@TheSweetTeaGuy Yes. I was just about to edit my comment and add Tom Petty. Thanks. I was trying to get to my comment to edit it before anyone noticed I accidentally missed Tom. 😬
I had the pleasure of having Johnny in my theatre classes - i learned quite abit while teaching Johnny! Im serious - he's a brilliant guy & a brilliant comedic talent. We'll all miss Johnny & all the moments in KOTH when DALE broke up the room! Heaven got a great one Aug 8, 2023! Rock on, Johnny! ❤
Very sad to hear this! Condolences to all his loved ones 💐 Johnny Hardwick truly delivered his all for the character of Dale Gribble. His characters antics and sayings were some of the funniest! Sha-Sha-Shaaa!, Squirrel Tactics, the classic Pocket Sand, the “You don’t know who I am, but I know where you live…” haha i laugh just thinking about it and you know I can’t forget Rusty Shackleford!! Countless, countless shenanigans that brought much joy and laughs in my childhood all the way to my adulthood. Thank You Johnny Hardwick and may you rest in peace 🕊️
I really don't know if I can watch the revival now without him. First Murphy in 2010, Tom Petty in 2017, now the one actor whose character I relate with mostly too. I pray & send my condolences to his family if he had any left. R.I.P Johnny Hardwick. You'll be missed by every fan of the show.
One of the best characters on one of the best animated television sitcoms ever. I love in the episode texas city twister when dale is driving towards the tornado and said "10 years ago you took my shed you think i'd forget that, it's just you and me now, bring it on." Then a few drops of water land on the windshield then he panics and drives crazily through a field. LOL. Rest in Peace Mr Johnny Hardwick.
Was shocked and saddened by the news - passing away just about 6 weeks before he would have qualified for Medicare benefits. Enjoyed his talent voicing Dale Gribble/Rusty Shackleford, writing some KOTH episodes and serving as a producer as well. My prayers go out to him, his family, friends and remaining KOTH cast members. RIP and Godspeed, Johnny.
I'm literally watching KOTH right now and I'm 30, so I grew up watching it. Gribble was, by far, my favorite... RIP good sir. You will be respected and missed 😢
No one could ever be Dale gribble like Johnny Hardwick did it's sad what happened to him my colondolences goes out to his family and friends r.i.pJohnnyyouwillneverbeforgotten .
This is truly heartbreaking. I can't believe he is gone now. Im starting to think the revival will either be delayed even more or it will never happen because too many voice actors passed away. First Luanne, then Lucky, and now Dale, these are crucial for the show and without them it just won't be the same.
Maybe Hardwick recorded some lines before he passed. I don't know how I'm gonna watch it now. First Murphy, Petty & now Hardwick. I was really looking forward to the show coming back. I'm debating on whether to watch or not. We'll see.
Rest in peace to the man who brought Dale Gribble to the wall a.k.a. versus for Rusty Shackleford to two us all in for 13 amazing seasons and I 100% believe he probably was part of the reboot they were doing with Hulu I hope they dedicate this isn’t a home wonderful voice wonderful talent you know one of my favorite😢
Johnny was such an amazing talent, both writing and acting - and putting some real OOMPH and subtlety to his characterization of Dale. The fact that he claims to have molded Dale's voice around that of William S Burroughs makes it even greater to me. He will be sincerely missed. So many in the cast have passed since the show's end: LuAnne, Lucky and now Dale. Going to keep a little Pocket Sand in his memory.
