Why are you happy? This is not yours, you just stole something from a creator and recive the credit. Any dumb ass can do that, like is this case. Create something please, stop stole from others!
The lead singer is my brother and I’ve fancied Paul Rudd for years so this is very confusing for me 😂😂 he nailed the dad moves and receding hairline though and I just love everything about it
I was born in 1991 so I had never heard this song before it was on Fallon, but it’s been stuck in my head ever since lol. Tell your bro it’s an awesome song 😜.
I like to think that it was a deliberate decision to exclude them. I was surprised after watching the video that commenters didn't see it as an obvious exclusion.
Exactly. I think all of their vids recreating 80’s music snow love, appreciation & homage.its so good! 80’s misic and fashion was epic. I lived it. Didnt seem weird at the time. It was fun. So this is FUN!
@deecohen1383 I think because it was going to be a parody they tried to push harder and exaggerate things more. in the end it ended up being just like a music video was back then, a little too over the top acting. They added more realism without realizing..😂
Yep...totally agree...he's truly hilarious. The only thing he's ever done that I did not like was that movie...I forget the name....oh...Our Idiot Brother? I think that's what its called.
RedRose7997 I watched the original video after the Jimmy/Paul one & totally thought they digitally put themselves into the original too - they probably watched the video a million times to get it as close as they did!
I think they may have deliberately cut out the elephant because a lot of the stuff they had it doing in the original video (like the headstand) are now considered animal cruelty.
Nothing beats the part @1:38 where Jimmy/Long Haired Go West Guy just toss their hands in the air for a few frames when the trumpets/brass punch a line and then it goes to something else....so random and weird and wonderful!
They just freekin' NAILED IT! SO Funny! I was cracking up as I watched their spoof - not even side by side - cuz I remember the original from back in the day! Huge fan of Go West! - so overlooked for their talent!
One of my favorite songs of all time, and they play it so straight letting the natural comedy of the time come through. So perfect. And Paul Rudd has pipes!!
OMG, Jimmy, Paul, THANK YOU for such a great flashback to Go West (and MTV in general). Rest assured, people, the video didn’t make any sense in 1990, either! And thanks Jorge, for putting these two classics side by side. (Dont miss the Pope!)
I almost made an appointment to go see my optometrist. I thought I was seeing double. The side-by-side comparison really makes you realize how much work and effort into the remake. Now I’m going to look at some 80s R&B videos. Those were the days.
So unbelievable done. By far the best these two have done. Great song. Brings back the memories. 1990. Pretty Woman movie. Did not know this. Burt Reynolds was the original pick to see play lead.
I already loved this song long before I saw this parody. My fiancee and I laugh hysterically every time we watch this (yes, we've watched it more than once). We both like Paul Rudd, and I've been a fan of Fallon since his first season on SNL. Jimmy gets some major cred for his passion of re-creating everything perfectly - this was soooo well done!!!!!!
Okay I know this is hysterical but even Paul Rudd has a signature move. You can see it clearly. Even though he's trying to copy the go west singer, his own personality is shining through. This was a good trip. Glad I watched it
More like, "Yea, we're not gonna physically abuse an elephant to get a funny shot for a spoof video". I think it could have been funny with a person in an elephant outfit or something, but I think they wanted to literally point out the cruelty of the original act, so they left it all out to really highlight the issue and so people would ask "Why was the elephant not in it?" Some things, particularly animal cruelty, don't age well.
Love what you did!! I seriously love this song! I haven't heard this song for more than 10 years and suddenly thought of it today! So searched for it and found the Jimmy Fallon and Paul Rudd one which I didn't even know they reenacted it!! And you putting it side by side was just awesome!! Kuddos! 👏👍
Wasn't a fan of the group, but adored this song as a kid and loved the redo on Fallon. Thanks for doing this. The remake brought back good memories and you completed the circle
I just realized, after years of having watched the original video, they have all sorts of 'King' references. Never put two and two together before just now.
Watching this in 2020 is kind of weird... I wasn't a huge fan of the song in 1990, and I'm not now, but looking back at songs I listened to in my early teens (in the early 90s) is calling attention to how much time has passed.
jimmy needs to do this weekly with all the popular music vids from the 80's with famous guest stars it would be awesome plus he would bring some great music to the masses of kids who are use to craptastic overly auto tuned music of today ...he would be giving these kids a top notch musical education thats for sure ..or at the very least giving the 80's kids a great way to reminisce about their childhood ....great job jimmy and paul .keep them coming u ROCK!!!!!
This does so much for my perfectionism. All the super intricate details that they make sure to include. Truly a tribute to the original, plus Paul Rudd is the King... hands down.
Loved GO WEST back in the day. Listened to them on my SONY WALKMAN!! Yes, the moves are vintage, but they were perfect for the era of the video. Love the song to bits!!!
First time seeing this and Fallon nails it. Very well done, totally enjoyable. A fan of Go West from the very beginning. I did see them live at Malibu's in 1984 at age 19. They were terrific. Thanks for posting.
Tiffany Anna ...would never have guessed him if it didnt have his name in title lol..i thought original singers dancing was kinda funny..til i saw Rudds rendition 😂. Wonder what theyll come up with next?.maybe something from 90s
Tiffany Anna ...too much time on my hands song..i saw that one too, it was good. This one still better. Im not a big fan of fallon but id watch more of these with him n rudd lol.
This is one of the greatest things my eyes have ever perceived... And I have been at the birth of both of my daughters... I love the way Paul Rudd moves... He makes me belly laugh spontaneously & uncontrollably... This music video triggers so many memories from my youth... And they nail it so hard... I love this so much... 😍🤓
