Agree, but with slight differences in words I've noticed. Anglicans and RC tend to sing mostly the same words as heard here at KCC but our sisters/brothers in other denominations call it Christ the Lord is Risen today and the first verse is different than sung here. All good however.

Indeed RISEN! Faith is work and hymnody as is evidenced by this wonderful schola, I visited KINGS many times when I was very young and pray, I'll have another arrival before I leave this transitory world. Happy Easter!

Its that great choir from King`s college Cambridge. What more can one say, they are magnificent this choir. World class in everything they do as a choir.

🎼 It’s sad that beautiful music like this is rarely ever recorded using world-class microphones. Placement of mics is equally is crucial, otherwise the deep rich sound is lost, better known as vocal presence. Capturing vocals on professional equipment was the Love of my life, but all good things sadly must come to an end. 😟 Sure which the channel owner had not abandoned this channel. Such beautiful music. ❤️

Astounding! The choir is dragging the tempo the organist has set. Why hasn't the conductor got a grip on this? I would never allow this with my choir at St. John's.
Negative vote (sorry--nothing personal) because the descant is mal-musical. Cleobury often uses weird descants. Why he can't stick with David Wilcocks' most beautiful and most popular descants is beyond me.
You should catch the extraordinary video where Wilcox, Cleobury, and Ledger are in conversation together. It was mentioned that choristers always want to sing Willcock's descants, and Cleobury often relents. The great man then said "there are only so many notes" which may be used for a descant." There you have it!
The musical direction of this is simply appalling. Now you know why organists ignore people who call themselves 'musical directors'. Richard, take note.
