This is true. His tone is killer and he is an absolutely incredible player and writer. While their fans and even the critics know how good they are, it sucks that they were never fully embraced by the public. These guys should be multi, multi-millionaires.
Its weird to me to see them so old now, as they were so young and new in my teen years. But I am very happy just to see them playing again. Who cares about age, talent never grows old. And they still sound as great as ever!
I love it when i see bands really connect with their fans. This just shows how much love the fans have for them, and how much love the band has for their fans.
I've seen Goldilox live several times (online mostly, in person too), but Dug sort of singing backup vocals on it? Amazing! Just got tickets to see them again in September, can't wait!
The most criminaly underrated band ever.......legends. First saw them in London way back in 1989!!!.......its still the best gig I ever saw....and trust me I've seen plenty.
I was at this show! Sold out, I had standing room only tickets and loved it! Love these guys so much! If you're new to King's X, they are NOT pop (couple listens and you're already tired of the song). I find multiple listens to a song only builds the experience. Goldilox (2nd song here from their first album OUT OF THE SILENT PLANET) was so cool. Dug hardly sang it, the whole crowd sang the whole thing! Spiritual experience.
I've been lucky enough to see this band 5 times, met them in person in KY! Huge arenas, small clubs, up close and personal, nev er failed to deliv er! Front row in Oh! I'll keep going as long as they do!
It is crazy that Doug is is 72 or 73 years old.. While it is insane that he looks so good for his age...It is also kind of scary. I don't have to say why.
That crowd........geesh, a little cooperation guys. That one guy, the only one, lol, with the mask on sitting crossed armed looks bored. i am looking forward to their show at Brooklyn Bowl in Nashville on July 18th.
When you're a vocalist on tour, you have to be really careful to sing within your limits. Vocal coaches will often say that you should give it a solid 80% every night. If you give it 100% every night, your voice will be gone after a few shows. Dug is a pro, and he knows his limits. They are naturally increasing as he gets older, so that's what you're seeing here.
Well the have a great fan base…but the vocal…which I fell in love with them for are just not there….I did monitors for them 20 years ago….that was amazing…
