"The stupidest graduate fresh out of Sandhurst knows that you don't drive an armoured column up a hill with cover on either side. Ye that's exactly what he British did" - Major Gordon Corrigan, on "Tanks!" when interviewed about this battle.
@Cybernaut76 This is a made-up story I Don't remember ever reading about 2 king tigers wiping out a British tank column? ........but what I have read is that there was 1 king tiger in Normandy and it wasn't used in combat........
Hi sturm will you ever do a video on the Stalin line? A series of russian fortifications stretching far, assaulted by germans 1941 - 1942 war stugs B and panzer 3s mostly. What is the interesting thing is that the soviet weapons were concealed, such as T-34 tanks hiding in barns, took the Wehrmacht completely by surprise, and other hidden weapons such as camoflaged pillboxes. It could make an interesting concept and video.
So the "King Tiger" had some kind of invisible force shield around the commander when he is sticking out the hatch during the battle! Oh those germans think of everything?
More stupid even is to show the tanks side instead the front + both driving forward simultaneously without mutual cover. Looks good in the game though.....
@@peter494" Michael Wittmann (22 April 1914 - 8 August 1944) was a German Waffen-SS tank commander during the Second World War. He is known for his ambush of elements of the British 7th Armored Division during the Battle of Villers-Bocage on 13 June 1944. While in command of a Tiger I tank, Wittmann allegedly destroyed up to 14 tanks, 15 personnel carriers and two anti-tank guns within 15 minutes before the loss of his own tank. The news was disseminated by Nazi propaganda and added to Wittmann's reputation." According to Wikipedia, you are on drugs. This commenter got it wrong that it was wittmans ambush, the video never told it was related to Wittmann at any time, next time try reading the comment.
