Two reasons: first, yeah it's not a game for peasants (most or players/most of people). Second, Warhorse is a small studio and can't invest so much in marketing and bribes for media like Bethesda or CDPR, so again masses of peasants don't even know it exist, or not care enough because it's not hyped and trendy.

Which mods OP? I've started a new playthrough and I just remembered that mods for this game exist.

Kcd can be a sandbox game if you think about it. If you are at endgame with all this groschen that can buy you everything imaginable and all this armour that will make it so much harder to get you killed. You can pretty much take down 3 and in some cases even 5 people at once. I see it as a sandbox game for that reason.

No. Regardless of your opinions on the combat, you can't really defend the master strike system, especially on the enemy side (it's bad enough on the player side). No move is really unblockable in HEMA (it would quicker lead to a sword dance with the blades cinching looking for angles to stab/graze from) so it's not historically accurate either. It was a system that you could take out from the game and the result would be a better combat experience. The master strike made combat rather tedious for anyone wanting to use combos as you would be punished mid combo, even after tiring out the opponent first, and made the game feel way more stat based. The stats mattered more than the player skill in combat (for instance, a skilled player cannot beat the first cuman without some sort of cheese or power levelling + getting lucky). And I get it that they did this to make the game "feel" more realistic, but punishing players that want to master the game vs simply making the game harder to master is a game design philosophy no one should stand behind as it simply serves as a fun factor inhibitor.

Not clunky combat it’s accurate combat real life not just some fake ass combat system that holds your hand 😂

Lower difficulty, practice, find decent equipment... it's actually too easy later on.

On release you didn't even have to engage in the combat system. You could drag stabs into enemy faces and one or two hit kill them, hilariously.

Is not a hack and slash game, is not for casuals. It takes A LOT of free time of yours to be properly played.
