Kingdom Hearts 2: Lingering Will Secret Boss Fight (PS3 1080p) 

Only after playing Birth by Sleep I realized that I felt really, really sad facing Terra's Lingering Will. The way he knelt will always be iconic to me.

Every night before sleeping, Sephiroth checks to make sure Lingering Will is not hiding under his bed.

"I don't know who these people are... they must be Xehanort!!"

That was without a doubt the toughest secret boss fight I’ve ever faced.

I love how as soon as the fight starts Donald just gets launched 5 yards away by the boss

I swear, this fight makes Sephiroth's look like a god damned tutorial!!! O^O

imagine getting hit over and over with giant metal keys. especially the crazy combos they do lol

This guy is extremely difficult to beat legit and undoubtedly the toughest boss in the series so far. That feeling when you finally take him down is unforgettable 👌

He’s lucky Donald didn’t use Zettaflare.

The moment I saw Fenrir, I thought he might be trying the easy way...I'm happy he gave the boss a proper try,

Poor, Terra. He had promise, but now relegated to an eternity in animated armor that feels nothing but rage.

For those who haven't played this game I'm going to put my best effort as to why this fight is difficult 1. Unlike the fight with sephiroth this guy starts with a different attack every single time you try to rematch him so don't think that the fight will be the same every time you try to fight him. 2. Even on the easier difficulties this guy is still hard. Trust me as someone who has played on standard mode I am not making this up. 3. This guy hits like a truck and will try to attack you frequently so your best bet is to have a keyblade and some abilities that replenishes your MP faster than usual and equip those defender abilities that you may have. 4. If you don't grind for experience and items to your limits don't even attempt fighting this guy unless you want to get your rear end served to you on a platter. 5. Donald and Goofy are USELESS in this fight since they get knocked out every 30 seconds so honestly don't waste your time giving them any equipment. 6. This is on of those fights where you are going to die a lot because you do have to know how he is going to attack and how to dodge them if you want to survive. However there is a pattern this guy gets locked into where he will use that bow and arrow attack until you get his health down to where he will start to use his desperation move on you(At that point he'll just spam the desperation move). On top of that there is a method of defeating this guy that involves using the Fenrir plus the negative combo abilities to constantly beat this guy. Just look up "How to utterly destroy the lingering will and it should come up. Overall this is a very difficult fight but it isn't impossible.

Terra must have thought sora was xehanort because who else would come to the keyblade graveyard. All he knew was that ven and aqua might be dead and that he must protect them.

I beat the Lingering Will for the first time today and it was one of the happiest moments of my life. It was my first time facing him in over a year. I fought him again right after that and beat him again. Learning his DM and where to go really helps.

Sora walks into Terra's bar. He burns the bar down. No worries, he has twenty more I stole this joke by the way

This is some major leap in logic... "I remember you. Wait you're not the one I gave the keyblade to, how did you get that? Wait... you must be Xehanort!!!"

I remember fighting Lingering will on the ps2 on the Japanese version of Kh2 Final mix +, back before it ever came out on ps3. MUCH more difficult than Sephiroth, but once you die enough and memorize the attack patterns. It's easy. 👌 Only thing I had to struggle with was equipping the right skills, I just never knew what any of them were since it's in Japanese. Surprisingly the voice in game was english tho

Sora: "How do you have all these laser blasters?" LW: "Trust me bro I totally had this in my normal body."

*Sees this boss the first time* Oh shit! Secret boss! Oh hell yeah! I'm ready for this! *Gets killed in the first 10 seconds of teh fight* .............. ITS SEPHIROTH ALL OVER AGAIN!!!!!

Sora walks into the arena. Lingering will: You wanna how to do a fucking infinite?!?

This fight took me 42 tries and now I have PTSD whenever I see this suit

I love this boss fight, I can tell it’s not critical mode but that doesn’t matter. This video is helping me find ways to live during the fight

This is how lingering will chesses the fight. Step 1: throw your keyblade in the air. Step 2: transform your keyblade into a flying vehicle. Step 3: get on said keyblade flying vehicle. Step 4: slam your vehicle into Sora literally 4 or 5 times Step 5: rinse and repeat the entire fight. P.S. I have "I Frames" :)

This boss has An INCREDIBLE amount of HP.

There was only one damn thing that motivated me to continue fighting this thing and it was that Kick-Ass music

You know what it's my favorite thing about this video the fact that the guy who's fighting terra's armor is not a super god player at the game he's a normal guy fighting this and beating him it reminds me of me and my brother would fight him you know he's not a guy who is perfect and dodging every move or a guy who was just knows everything perfect to do it's just adorable to see someone who's would fight him and struggling like I would

After fighting yozora, the lingering will isn't that scary anymore. Still a hard boss though.

Before Artorius (DS1) and Gael (DS3), Terra was the 1st Armored Guts Inspired Boss Fight in not only the KH series, but in all of Video Game History.

i remember when i beat this guy for the first time...... it was on critical mode which to me was very satisfying but yet funny at the same time as i never beat him on proud mode or any lower difficulty >.>

Maybe he'll be a boss in Kingdom Hearts 3. A way to "free Terra's will" or something like that.

Is it me or does Lingering Will here look like he’s 6’5 or something because *he’s towering over Sora.*

Me: Hah! It's just a piece of armor, how hard can it be. Me in the middle of this boss: GIVE ME MERCY!! *dies for the 500th time*

So, the Lingering Will is what was left of Terra after Xehanort screwed him over with the fusion thing: Terra's Keyblade Armor and his leftover will to wield a Keyblade. Almost sounds like a ghost story, actually. If I remember correctly, Terra was supposed to be skilled with earth elemental attacks, which he never used here. I guess there were some abilities his lingering will didn't get to keep.

Sephiroth compared to this fight looks like a freaking tutorial, And I can now say that firsthand

I shocked that terra didn’t confuse sora with ventus considering that people keep call sora roxas and roxas looks exactly like ventus and not sora

So technically we got a taste of keyblade form changes before it actually was a thing for example tera transform his keyblade into a whip then into a giga cannon

it still blows my mind every time i am reminded that it was supposed to be Riku all along. If only he never went to the Darkness. I am still working my way through KH. I just finished birth by sleep and very close to finishing everything in time for KH3. Cant wait to see where the Birth by Sleep character go from here.

This fight on the hardest difficulty will make you rage soooooo hard but beating him is the MOST satisfying reward. This dude took me so many tries

Lingering Will is like a secret boss something from Soul Calibur. Like after he was corrupted into Nightmare, Siegfried’s mind ended up inside Soul Edge, where he feels guilty for making contact with the curse sword itself. Until Kilik & Xianghua defeated Nightmare, freeing Siegfried from the monster he had become.

This is the only battle that makes KH2FM so memorable. Oh, the music also, "Rage Awakened".

First RU-vid video of this fight that I ever saw had the music "Heroic Battle" from Digital Devil Saga 2 playing in the background instead of the actual in-game music. Now I can't watch this fight without hearing that track playing.

why is it all the easter egg boss fights in KH2 seem to take the absolute piss out of your efforts when you win?! Sephiroth :*Merely brushes his fucking shoulder* "Go find cloud bitch." Lingering will/terra "ehh... GG son..." *Fucking kneels back down* LIKE?!! WHAT THE FUCK?!! your fighting for your fucking life and they are just like "Yeah good fight mate i guess..."

I spent all those hours learning fancy techniques when apparently I just needed to glide around, tank damage, and wish upon a star.

Final form is insanely powerful, love it.

I'm still pround to have beat him with the "Fenrir+negative combo"spam XD

What really pisses me off is that I completed this game 100% in 2006 and I didn't know that there were another version of the game with all the coolest shit that Only Japanese people can experienced it.

Really should've made Lingering Will to have a showdown with Sephiroth. Both possess crazily ridiculous weapon which it's impossible for protagonist to obtain in game. XD

Out of all the kingdom hearts bosses both secret and main story this is the ONLY boss that I beat once and was like NEVER AGAIN!!!! Even Sephiroth wasn't as rage inducing bc Sephiroth at least gave you points to breath. This thing is on you the whole time and even it's basic attack will kill you in one combo

Yozora may be harder will come close to the feeling of this battle starting with the iconic music, still my favorite boss in the series

Once I beat this boss he got easier for me. Now everytime I fight him I beat him easily. Without using the cheap way.

Man, and I plan on fighting him on my current playthrough, but I still have to level up 33 times until I'm at level 99. Call me a wuss, but I heard stories about this boss, and actually fighting him and utterly losing to him adds to my fear of him.
