If there's one thing I would never want to leave the Kingdom Hearts series...it's Yoko and her magic. This battle turned out just as I expected it to be-even more, as the game does let you play as both Riku and Sora. I just wished Aqua had many more HP bars, since this battle deserves to last way longer, and a different moveset from the one you fight in 0.2 Nonetheless a truly epic rendition of Aqua's theme. And I hope you never used Attractions during this fight.
Better yet. They should add an option in the menu to turn them off permanently. There's been too many times I've accidentally used one even if I didn't want to. It's seriously annoying...
It kinda takes the epicness out of the fight, especially the 10,000 battle, “this is gonna be an epic fight!, use the train attraction to finish them off -_- ‘
@@MasterJunior93 It's very easy to accidentally use them considering how many commands can appear. That's why it would be better if we were given an option to turn them off. I'd say a lot of people would be happy about that considering the amount of hate I've seen for attraction flow in different videos
I’m glad you recognized how awesome this theme is too. It’s beautiful. I can literally hear Aqua’s entire journey in this melody. God Yoko, NEVER LEAVE US!
i wouldn’t actually put the blame on players since the Osaka Team thought putting attractions and form changes all on the same button was a good idea 🤷♂️
Considering how powerful Aqua could become in BBS, Anti-Aqua should have been waaaaaay more difficult than she was. The whole time I was fighting her, I was expecting her to eventually start dishing out dark versions of her powerful exclusive commands from BBS, stuff like Dark Ice Barrage, Dark Firaga Burst. Dark Magic Hour, Darkbloom (Dark Lightbloom.) I mean, she did have moves from what looked like a dark version of her Spellweaver command style, and Shadow Clone Guilt Trip (which kind of got to me a little bit, honestly,) but as great as this fight was, it could have been so much greater.
@@tatianaa6833 I assume Aqua was at her peek Considering that Riku & Mickey couldn't beat her, Plus by this Time Riku was a Master, had a New Keyblade helped from Repliku & New Resolve. The Darkness must've been using her Entire Being to Fight.
HeadhunterTelesto I felt the same way about Young Xehanort, Xemnas, and Ansem. They were so powerful either as secret bosses and/or final bosses in general, so their respective skill sets should have been much more reflective of that strength (since it is stated they are going all-out here, whereas in the secret battles they were merely testing the players’ strength).
@@soralight_x She wasn't at her peek clearly: Aqua didn't fight Riku and Mickey directly, Mickey was inside the demon tower (and she never fought him actually) and Riku fought her AND the demon tower at the same time, he didn't fight her directly, like Sora did. Do you seriously believe that, if Aqua were at her peek, she would have need a demon tower? Of course not, there is a massive difference between the 2 and Aqua wouldn't need an heartless to defeat him.
@@tatianaa6833 She was controlling the Demon Tower that Mickey & Riku were having trouble dealing with as well as the thing that trapped Mickey. Aqua was clearly above the Demon Tower as she fought & defeated both the Tower & Tide singlehandedly at some point.
I haven't had a kingdom hearts song send chills this powerful down my spine since the 2.5 version of rage awakened. Also I'm getting a strong dark souls vibe from this song. It reminds of the abyss watchers.
Honestly the part which hurt me the most and will definetly define itself as a staple in this series is when Aqua seperates herself into a multitude of illusions. They all say things which are designed to make not only Sora, but the player feel her pain. When I experienced this myself I had to pause the game and take a moment to cry. Aqua did not deserve what happened to her. We should have been there for her sooner and yet all we can do is give her the release she needs from her suffering. Destroy the darkness, return it to light.
Jacob Chapman a real fan feels sorrow for Aqua and understands her tragedy. How about you make like a dusk and get out of this comment section you nobody.
I feel like Aqua was saved too easily, like if there were more health bars and possibly two fights like fighting her with Riiku and him losing, then sora comes in and fight her with Riku as a party member add some amazing dialogue in there, and some small battle commands clashing with aqua or her smacking us around. Final cutscene could be it seems like aqua has one but then sora feels something from ventus that pushes him not to give up and then he cuts through the darkness in aqua and she slowly starts to turn back to normal with more sad lines. They take her back to destiny islands and she the regains consciousness and sees riku and sora as terra and ventus like in the game.
I;m sure that Somewhere along the line they'll Add Extra Boss Phases, more Story Bosses, Colisseum Battles & More. On a Side Note, Critical Mode & Extra Story Content was Confirmed for 2019!
@King of Light You're right, she's awfully powerful: she fell UNDER the realm of darkness, lost her keyblade, got corrupted by the darkness and she didn't die or turn into an hearltess, and, despite this, she still managed to return in the dark margin. Remember she didn't have her keyblade and she had no means of fighting the heartless, as she said, and STILL manage to return. This is weakness? Of course not, strenght of heart, determination and power all combined, that's why Aqua is my favourite character of the series. It's incredible to think that she was still able to put a fight against Sora and Riku after all this mess.
@Bruno Ricardo Riku couldn't do anything to her: Riku got defeated by the demon tower, got his keyblade broke, even if he had protection, he wasn't alone and he stayed down there for what? few hours? Aqua instead defeated the demon tower by her own, having no protection and her keyblalde didn't break, she also destroyed powerful heartless such as demon tide, red eye, dark sides and let's not forget that even weak heartless are stronger in the dark world. She even defeated her own phantom. Then she got corrupted by the darkness due to Ansem, she fell under the realm of darkness, lost her keyblade and STILL managed to return in the dark marigin and yet Riku couldn't do anything to her. And let's not forget that all of this corruption thing doesn't have an effect on her, unlike Riku that he took games for him to overcome his darkness (he was even afraid of it in RECOM), so Riku and Aqua are not comparable. Riku is strong, but compared to Aqua, is weak.
Vivi L'antieroina nel tubo I agree with Both you & King of Light. Aqua is Without a Doubt 1 of the Best & Most Gifted Keyblade Wielders In History! As for Sora, well he’s Blessed. 😁😇
@@soralight_x Stop making this excuse, that should've have been there since the beginning. I'm tired of Square completing games 2 years after they come out. What about the loyal customers who bought the game since say one?
It was they cut the amount of bars down for some reason. I'm still confused about that since like that small boss fight in pirates looked like he had 10 bars or more.
Probably in test versions they super buffed the HP of bosses bosses to increase the likelihood of a bug occurring during the encounter. Blizzard has done this with their bosses ever since they made PTR a thing in World of Warcraft.
What a fantastic song. This and The Final World's theme are just breathtaking. Imagine using pirate ship during this fight. What kind of inhuman monster would do that... I really wish there was a way to disable attractions when you start a new game. And critical mode as well. Hell, I'd settle for a LV 1 run that let you learn abilities but not stat boosts.
You can do a level 1 run on proud, however if you don't increase your stats through cooking and keyblade upgrades, your damage eventually bottoms out and you start doing chip damage, which adds unnecessary difficulty. I hope they update level 1 to have a higher damage minimum like in Kh2fm level 1.
@@xshobux Yeah I'd do a level 1 run if all the Bonus abilities gave the regular level up abilities as well. I wonder if there's a complete list of abilities and what level they stop at. I might just cap my level when I get my last ability during my next run. I'm kinda bummed out that SE hasn't came out with a "We hear you" news post. But the team is on a break now, so I can understand why they haven't haha
As much as I felt this boss should've been harder(I demand some balance changes Nomura, no exceptions or whatever sort of excuse he might try to pull about dlc or updates since its not actually confirmed), it felt almost appropriate that Sora was strong enough to overpower Aqua in her current state. Like it was the sworn duty of Sora and Sora alone, the person she had put all of her hopes into, to banish the darkness thay had engulfed her and return her to light. I'm not sure about everyone else but for me, every hit I dealt had meaning(especially since the slippery blueberry kept dodging). For me, this fight was fun and unique not because it was difficult or challenging(it wasn't but I feel like it wouldn't have added anything more to what I was already feeling) but because everything about it was symbolic and meanigful and it felt amazing to he a part of that. Again, that was just my experience but its definitely a favorite KH moment of mine
This was definitely the best boss in the game. Music was great, setting was great, tone was amazing & if you didn’t abuse attractions the fight felt really cool.
@@Gamelover254 No attractions, no tranformations. The definitive way to do it in my opinion. Should've come up with a different moveset other than 3rd Phantom Aqua tho. Still a great fight regardless.
Bless you for including the intro bit! I hope you'll be uploading the full soundtrack, because you always do the music ripping true justice. I do have a question though. Can cutscene music be ripped from this game? The rendition of The Deep End used during Aqua's brief fight with Ansem's guardian is so good and very different from the one featured in the Rock Titan battle. I'd love to be able to listen to it without voices and sound effects.
And the cutscene that plays when Lea's Keyblade is destroyed, Kairi is kidnapped and Roxas returns (before the Saïx battle), but it only plays in a cutscene. Best music in the whole game.
And I hope you never used Attractions during this fight. YES!! I told my friend NOT to use Pirate Ship when it appeared in the menu. I didn't feel disappointed at all. We both got the feels
Definitely one of the best moments and boss fights in the game. You could feel the sadness and anger Aqua has throughout the fight and you can't help but smile (and maybe shed a tear) seeing her reaction after hearing that she's home/back in the realm of light. Also I won by smiting Aqua with lightning which I felt was appropriate.
I actually got it contact with Everglow, he unfortunately doesn't have the tracks anymore. So once they were taken off RU-vid for copyright, they were gone for good :,(
Tbh I wish this could have been a mid game boss. Having to fight here in multiple stages/phases, making it all the more difficult to rescue Aqua. This went by and happened way too fast. All in all this soundtrack is a Masterpiece. Amazing job Yoko.
I agee, this could have been just the first stage of her fight and, after this, the true fight starts and maybe Riku join Sora and defeat her toghether or Ventus from inside Sora gives him the strenght to defeat her and set her free from the darkness. Maybe the darkness weakened her, because i can't explain the fact that she was able to survive in the realm of darkness form more than 10 years, facing heartless that easily defeated Riku AND Mickey, while her alone was able to defeat the demon tide/tower, phantoms and darksides, defeated many enemies on her own such as Vanitas and Terranort, fell under the realm of darkness, losing the keyblade, so having no means of defeating the heartless, as she said to Mickey, but still managed to return, but she was set free in just one fight. But still, she has demostrated to possess a very strong heart (she didn't loose her heart to the darkness in more than 10 years in a place full of darkness, even when she fell under the realm of darkness), power and determination. The soundtrack is emotional and makes me cry, yoko is a genius.
I;m sure they'll make this Fight more Interesting late this Year, & add a Phase2 to Aqua's Battle as well as many other Boss Fights. a Huge DLC Expansion was Confirmed for 2019
Sora Light I hope your right! Kinda have big expectations for this DLC hopefully they show something at E3 cause some things in this game could’ve been a lot better especially this fight
Speedy 3303 Me too. The Free DLCs will be released separately at different dates this year while the Paid DLC will be come as a Huge Expansion late this year. I also have High Expectations, we might get Additional Story Modes like Reverse Rebirth from CoM.
Sora Light I would love that! hopefully it’ll be something like that, would improve the game quiet a bit too. Hopefully Square will release some details over the Summer I’m gonna guess the big DLC will release between Oct-Dec
This is one of my top favorite boss fights in KH 3. I daresay I enjoyed it more than the fight against Xehanort even. Everything in this fight was beautiful and had so much meaning to it. You could really feel Aqua's pain and distress built by a decade of loneliness in the dark. I think this OST is also one of the best tracks in the game and there are a lot of beautiful tracks.
its tragic to her lose to darkness when we saw her in birth by sleep trying all she could to help her friends and the world from darkness, but the darkness was too much then she was lost in darkness for 10 years all alone surrounded by heartless and darkness,,,, and finally she became an easy target to be turned,, thats why its sad because we got to see her fall from grace, its sad to fight against some1 who 1s was the hero u played with but now she turned rogue.
This fight was the most emotional for me and deserved pure Kingdom Key keyblade and Lil use of magic. Anything else ruins the fight. If I had to change anything, it would be: 1) Give her more health bars! 2) Mix in some more of Zodiac Aquas move set 3) increase her difficulty or her damage output (Critical Mode) 4) Turn this Musical Masterpiece Up during the fight!
My favorite boss is a tossup between this or Saïx, for the emotional impact of Xion and Roxas fighting beside me. But the entire time fighting this boss I couldn't get it out of my head how amazing this theme was. And the part where she splits into many phantoms and they all talk about being abandoned, that hurt.
Anti aqua one the saddest fights I had too do. I didn't wanna hurt one of the best characters of the franchise. She was corrupted left for dead and who saved her? The boy that everyone makes fun of for failing his exam.
This montage is great as always, dude! Matching the form changes with some of the big hits in the song is so nice to look at. Now we just need some No HUD mods and stuff!
I think Riku should've been the one to fight aqua, since hes been in the darkness much longer and was able to combing it with light in his fighting style, even becoming a keyblade master through it.
The worst thing about this fight are those stupid attractions. I accidentally finished her off with the damned pirate ship, like really?? Nevertheless, stupendous job as always Everglow
You can also immediately cancel the attraction after you start it with L1. I did that often when I accidentally started one. I mean, the attractions are fun for just generic enemy fights, but they really shouldn't have been enabled in boss fights.
I what I really enjoy in the moment of this fight is that the begin of saving the Birth by Sleep trio. FINALLY, after all this years, Aqua meets Sora and Riku, and they FINALLY managed to take her back to the world of light. At long last, we are fixing the stuffs. It's truly marvelous in my point of vier.
This fight was the KH2 Roxas boss fight of KH3. Seriously, this fight DESERVES a second form! Maybe a Ghost Drive form??? And why is Attraction Flow an option!!!??? Who would use attraction flow on Aqua, ruin everything!
I absolutely love this rendition of Aqua's theme! It conveys everything it needs to about this fight. (And I love that this is one of the few, if not the only, fights that can't be interrupted by the Attraction music. Even if you activate one, the boss theme continues to play.) Anyway, here's what I hear in the music: Darkness. Despair. Hopelessness. Aqua is completely surrounded by all these things and more. She can't escape on her own. She's completely broken. But what's this? 0:26 comes in with those trumpets showing her a glimmer of hope on the horizon. A dim, grey light, but hope nonetheless. Sora has come. And he's saving her. And, as the fight concludes, she reaches out, and Sora reaches back. She's finally, after eleven long years in the dark, in the Realm of Light again.
Anyone think square will add a patch to update this fight? Increase her health bars and moveset (Phantom Aqua even had 2 different methods of fighting) Also I feel she should have had a second phase.
That would be great but I honestly wouldn’t make a lot of sense ? I mean sure she was Norted from Ansem’s guardian/terra but it just wouldn’t count as a data battle .
@@underscore55 I mean, I know, after all even Demyx and Vexen are no data battles and they even got norted and benched, while Anti-Aqua isn't rlly norted, more just possessed by dorkness, so I understand that it wouldn't make sense, but DANG this battle is amazing, tho the boat ride really ruins the mood! XD
*still haven't finished the game so please go easy on me* This battle got me tied up in all sorts of emotions. Almost to the point of tears. I knew we weren't gonna kill her here but to see her like this kinda broke my heart a bit and I kinda screamed at the TV "AQUA WE GETTING YOU OUTTA HERE" Sad it wasn't longer. I loved this fight
Honestly this whole fight perfectly encapsulates why Mickey should have been playable for this fight. All of Aqua clones lines feel awkward when delivered to Sora because he barely remembers her while Mickey has had a friendship with Aqua and feels guilty over having to leave her in 0.2
“You shouldn’t have abandoned me” “I wandered the shadows endlessly” “No help ever came” “You don’t know what true loneliness is” “I waited for so long” “Now you can share in the terror I felt”
I love how they add an epic feeling to this song. The opera like singing definitely helps, along with the slow pacing of the wind & string instruments. And that ping sound adds a droning yet industrial feeling to it.
If there’s one thing I feel they missed spectacularly, it was making Riku and Aqua permanent teammates in the Keyblade Graveyard, and not giving them team attacks to pair up with Sora. Battling with and against these characters showed SO MUCH POTENTIAL, and they didn’t follow up on it. (I wouldn’t say no to Kairi being a permanent ally either, but... you know... Nomura apparently can’t make her anything but a *coughcoughdeceasedcough* damsel in distress.)
There was one moment in the keyblade graveyard where I thought we were going to fight with Sora, Aqua & Riku against the Demon Tornado. Why did that never happen!?!? I get Aqua wanted to stick with Ven considering how protective she is, but Riku and Aqua needed at least one moment or duel together. The thing with kh3 is that none of the matchups were very surprising. Sora & Riku Sora, Kairi & Lea Sora, Xion & Roxas Sora, Ventus & Aqua Sora, Riku & Mickey Those are all characters we’ve seen interact with eachother a million times before (except Sora who is in every match). How much more interesting would it have been if say Aqua teamed up with Kairi or Riku. Or if Lea teamed up with Ven. I still like KH3 but I really wished we saw the group interact more. I’m looking forward to the DLC where it looks like Sora might not butt in every fight.
As many others has said Attractions shouldn't even be available during boss fights at all, I got goosebumps all over during the entire ordeal but it was a bit annoying trying to actively avoid the attraction commands
Wouldn’t it be crazy if Aqua has DID? That Anti Aqua becomes an alter ego when Aqua is in a lot of stress? I’m enjoying the Greeting Data a lot and I’m using it as a means to create stories about the scenario.
I hope in the rumored many small dlc's they add either a cavern of remembrance way to fight old bosses or battle gates, but like beefed up max level versions
The music ingame needs to be louder, I hardly heard some of the best tracks. also would have been much more intense if proud mode was actually.... hard. I beat every boss my first try except Xehanort and Dark Inferno.
Yeah I couldn’t hear the theme when fighting Aqua. Now that I hear it, I feel like I missed out on an experience. I’m replaying the game with headphones.
Glad someone else thinks she had far too few health bars /not enough defense or attack to make up for lacking health bars. I was massively disappointed and just sat on the pause screen for a while to enjoy the music before I actually finished the fight.
Aqua join my in the darkness. Sora join you in the darkness? No... No I not here to join in the darkness even if i don't want to hurt you but I have to I here to save you!
One thing that really bugs me about this part is that after this all those negative emotions that Aqua accumulated just go away like nothing is like it was just like the darkness was behind all of it, and that she didnt felt that way for a second by herself,it felt forced
Absolutely love this theme! Was wondering if it was possible for you to rip and upload Shaded Truths and The Thirteenth Discretion remasters from KH3?? I've looked around and I don't think anyone has, they're some of my personal favorites!
Any advices to improve my Guard without relying on Keyblade Transformations? I mostly end up using Guard either so soon that Sora lets his Guard down just before getting puch, or just when the enemy hitbox already touched me.
