The way they made this fight was truly special and meaningful for all the people who loved Roxas, Axel and Xion. To me, it meant even something more. Having worked so hard for the 358/2 Days portion of my Timeline project, seeing Roxas and Xion being in the party and fighting as allies was incredibly stunning. I loved doing those videos, especially those where I had Xion and Roxas as allies from time to time, and now seeing them fighting both alongside Sora in KH3 was extremely touching to me. Again, Yoko didn't disappoint. The music is incredible, and if we think that the fight is about Roxas and Xion fighting Saix (Xion finally having his sweet revenge against him) while Lea can't help but watching his best friends fighting each others, making everything even more meaningful. Also look at how cute Kairi is when fighting alongside Sora!
Have to agree with you 100%. I love roxas and the sea salt trio :) Me and my GF are massive fans of 358/2 days and honestly i cant wait to see her smile with tears like i did on this part of the game.
Friendly reminder that before 3 the last time the trio saw each physically was when they fought. Axel vs Xion trying to bring her back to the organization, Xion vs. Roxas during their final fight, and Roxas vs. Axel before he returns to Sora.
I had the same reaction :') Also, Axel hugging them at the end really pulled at my heartstrings. I legitimately had to pause afterwards and take a moment to chill out 😇
I love how Xion skirts around the battle following you and attacks quite quickly (like how she played in multiplayer Days) while Roxas is ready to solo Saix and beat him to the ground the second time.
Seeing Xion cry and then Roxas and Axel hugging here was great for my heart. The only better scene was Roxas and Ventus looking at each other and deciding they weren't even going to bother trying to understand.
Really, the cry hug as I call it hit me STRAIGHT in the feels as I although I finished III already, I'm still in the middle of days and watched the slideshow from the first remix but that was pretty fun just Roxas and Ventus are like "nooooope, not even going to try to understand this one"
Roxas literally comes down, roasts Xemnas, and basically solos Saix. He will forever be my favorite character. He definitely got the ending he deserved.
@@SunlitSonata14272 Yeah Roxas and Xion's return felt pretty rushed and out of place with the info on the secret reports. That one part could've been written much better, but what they gave us definitely got the job done.
@@SunlitSonata14272 I thought he used the one laying around after Dark Riku was taken from it by Replica Riku. Seeing as how he had the black coat on and got there so damn quickly. Either way I fret not the details and live in the moment. Crying my manly tears out because damn you emotions!
Matthew Rubenstein The replica was already ready and waiting for every member in case the organization needed backups, the only thing Roxas needed to arrive was the connection that sparked between Lea & Xion, hence his arrival when Lea remembered. As for Xion she traveled from the past as a heart like the rest of the members so she’s work for them since they wanted a keyblade wielded over Demyx and she was the next best choice since they knew Roxas wouldn’t help. Unfortunately for them that backfired. Either way it’s really not hard to understand how they both got there if you pay attention
@@finaloblivion799 whoa really? I went looking around and could never find it. I must've been going in circles in the same room. I'll take a look again.
Roxas' growth brings a tear to my eye. Growing from what was virtually a small toddler to a young adult in such a little amount of time is truly astounding. He's is also one of the only well-written characters in the franchise.
@@mochablade4237 Riku is also a good character it's just that the have this insane reason to keep resetting him for some freaking reason. Honestly they should have gave him the crown of guilt for his keychain rather than that weird looking car key. Overall I was hoping I could do more of the character but ended up falling flat. Tera on the other hand I honestly can't tell if he actually cares for Ventus which is very sad. In BBS Ven is the only character that actually seems to care for his friends.
@@kylelundgren5133 in reference to Riku's car key, i understand why it's like that. it's meant to show his steel like heart agains the darkness, it can no longer be tainted or stained by darkness, hence why it is basically a stainless steel car key..... but yeah it looks fecking dumb as hell. and it doesnt fit his combat style at all. would fit Sora's with two handed heavy motions. but Riku's one handed speedy light strikes look real dumb with it.
The beautiful thing with Roxas is he essentially has his badass dual wield Org XIII/Boss moveset. And the orb of.light he fotes while spinnimg his keyblade is a watered down version of his desperation as said boss. Hell. He even hS his awesome reversal/skate for dashing around like a madman. Xion... actually reminds of the 358/2 days Multiplayer version of her and Roxas. Basic combos and you need to run in close to do any damage... she has an affinity for magic and actually has event horizon as one of her skills (used initially by her as aboss and dual wield Roxas' limit break iirc) all the nods to the past game in their moveset is damn glorious.....
It's actually a pretty cool chain reaction with Roxas and Xion regaining their existences. As far as I understood it, the "Connection" that Roxas mentioned as the last thing he needed to be whole again was mended when Xion attacked Sora (Roxas), probably because of this clash, Roxas and Xions hearts came into contact again thus causing Roxas to remember her. Then Roxas began to spoke through Sora, telling her that she could stop now, that everything would be alright now and finally calling out her name with his own voice. Hearing her name brought back Xions memories and her sense of identity, causing her to emotionally break down (maybe also from the realisation that she was fighting her friends again). Xion reclaiming her identity was probably the final step of recovering the connection between her and Roxas. Through this connection and the connection between him and Axel/Lea that was never really broken, Roxas was whole again and ready to return. I think thats about it or did I miss, misinterpreted, messed up something? ^^
SKape You got the first part right. What you didn’t mention is that Roxas’s heart left Sora and entered the Replica that Ansem the Wise and Ienzo were using to bring him back.
I am amazed by this viewpoint, and the icing on the cake of this impressive narration is the fact that in 358/2 it was Xemnas who told Roxas that Sora was the “connection” and that Sora was “what made Roxas and Xion part of each other’s lives.” To see Roxas finally getting to know what this connection means, and seeing this connection in motion when Roxas was going against Xemnas, the one who told him of this connection, was simply astounding.
Xemnas: who help you to prepare the replica ? Roxas: Ansem, Zexion, ... Xemnas: Okay, I believe you Roxas: and Vexen Xemnas: Okay, I *do not* believe you
This is my favorite musical score of all the games. Taking two sorrowful sounding songs and putting them together, it makes their return so much more triumphant sounding. I loved that scene so much, it was the scene I cried the hardest at.
The sad part is that this amazing piece isn't used for a more deserving battle for Roxas and Xion. Xemnas. Imagine it. Lea beats Saix and then Xemnas overwhelms him and then Roxas and Xion appear to fight him.
God seeing kairi fight look like she would be fun same as Lea. I do hope they add a Data battle where you can re fight all the bosses and select witch characters you pick and unlock keyblade and characters. That would be the dream. Come on most of the party member in the keyblade graveyard work as functional playable characters
That would be nice. I really want to fight all the seekers of darkness and the heroes of light. That would be nice also i feel like Kairi fights very similar to xion and sora.
So we all know like Roxas power based my assumption through KH 358: Beginning Story =10% Middle Story= 49% Battling Saix= 37% Battling Xion=28% Battling Riku =85% Battling Saix 2nd Round= *101%*
Man i've loved every single fight in this section, i really wished you could play as them. Just the beginning seeing Kairi doing actual combos on Xion damn
Final Arcana I know right like roxas’ boss fight and Zion’s boss fight together as you aren’t fighting them anymore but working with them omg I had a hard time playing this with tears ahhaha
I was too busy crying during this fight to get a good look at Saix, Roxas, and Xion's moves. This was the highlight of the game for me, even in a game filled with amazing moments. I loved Days so much.
I tend to agree however I think I may have been even more hyped about taking ahold of aqua and beating down vanitas in order to save ven. That shot had me way too excited.
@Ironbay Knight G i mean, if you take KHIII out of the equation, at the end of BBS they did suffer a bit as well. Ven goes into a deep slumber for 10+ years. Aqua gets stuck in the realm of darkness not even knowing IF mickey will cok me back to save her or if she'll ever see he friends again. And Terra loses his body to an old man who wants to harm his friends.
this scene literally made me full on face-rain. this felt all the more special having seen your timeline of days. I didn't even fight this battle. I just glided around and cheered on my babies as they whipped some werewolf ass
A truly fantastic moment in the game. Kinda wished we could control Roxas during this bit but having two now ex-pieces of Sora fight alongside him as their own individuals was amazing, especially with how they went to work on Saix during the fight. I just wish Nomura wasn't such a cocktease by only making them temporary party members as well as not having any special team up commands. A major missed opportunity there. I hope more people realize this and maybe ask and hope they update the game to have an option to get them as true party members outside of story stuff. I know that's a bit much and won't happen but I can dream gosh darnit
@@corrackisdead Indeed. I really hope Nomura listens to feedback and I hope people also give him good feedback so he and the rest of his team can make proper dlc and updates for 3 rather than just jump to making a new KH game. It would honestly be a disservice to 3 to just leave it as is without at least adding Critical mode. Here's hoping we get something soon
Papi Fist Ugh, this nonsense again? She’s the one who kept Sora from fading away and because of that, he ended up in the Final World. If it weren’t for her, Sora would’ve perished. So, stop calling Kairi useless.
Chris Cupples Nah. I’m gonna call her what she is, useless. Sorry that you’re some sort of Kairi fanboy but the vast majority of the fandom will agree with me when I say that building up Kairi’s training all game just to have her be useless for 1 fight then get kidnapped and die.... great character writing right there. She’s useless, basically the Sakura of Kingdom Hearts, except instead of always crying for Sasuke, it’s Sora.
This was the best part of the game for me. Xion retrieving her memories and identity, Roxas coming back to save his friends, fighting alongside those tragic characters with this music, the ending when the Twilight Trio is finally together again... I'm no ashamed to admit that my eyes were shining with tears. Xion best girl.
This was the very thing I was waiting for since my first KH game was Days. That and my deep attachment to Xion. Also, I need that soundtrack release asap.
What a great mix! Axel's reunion with Roxas and Xion was the most tear jerking for me. Mostly cause I was horrified that they used Xion and finally seeing them together again had me crying in happiness.
This battle was the highlight of the game for me. Seeing this trio finally reunite and Roxas and Xion fight alongside Sora against Saix. I was crying the whole time, happy that they returned and got revenge.
Personal favourite scene in the game, everything was perfect, the music, the reunion, i'll admit I teared up a little at seeing the best trio reunited after going through so much despair. Also Roxas kicks so much ass Jesus Christ look at that health bar just disappear
you know, this whole ending had a lot of cool shit, and i was having huge amounts of feels as well, but there was one thing in particular a lot of people are sleeping on: When Saïx goes berserk,it looks the same as it does in the manga: his scar grows and his eyes start glowing. It's a really cool detail that would've been a bit difficult to put in 2,or maybe it was only for the manga, but i'm glad it's canon now
@@Kro-RissaVirus It's not. The Org members die differently and so much happens differently overall. >Riku Replica never dies, he just bitches to Riku and then dips to go find himself with a bunch of Vexen Replicas following him. >Xaldin dies to a Vexen Replica. >The Dusks are trolls >Demyxs dies at the TWTNW by Icicles. >Larxene gets electrocuted. And so on and so forth.
They're all twirly and slidey, the style really suits her. Being able to see her and a lot of other characters in more action would have been great. Would it *really* have killed them to show her fighting like that in the actual story at some point? Some cool moments with her teaming up with Sora or something? Damn you, Nomura.
It really is! Shame this is the only instance of it unless she turns out to be the new player character come the next game. I'd like that, it might force them to write her better.
Throughout the game I was just screaming at Kairi to do something. Like seriously, she's gone for 90% of the game, fights once and other times is just getting wrecked by everyone.
My favorite battle in the entire KH3 game and my favorite track. The emotions and fighting alongside Roxas and Xion, pure magic. Not to mention the mixing of all the iconic themes. I love this!
I absolutely lost it during this part of the game. Getting my favorite trio together again. Having Roxas and Xion as my party members was the cherry on top. All I ever wanted from Kingdom Hearts. The music in this game is on an entirely different level. All hail Yoko Shimomura
She WAS completely and UTTERLY useless until now... now she's semi useless because she gets kidnapped AGAIN, sure Xemnas is more experienced but COME ON! kidnapped not ONCE, not TWICE, but THREE RIDICULOUS TIMES IN KINGDOM HEARTS, MAYBE EVEN AGAIN TOO! And technically she's kidnapped FOUR time because demon tide! And she dies, TWICE in this, once to demon tide, the other to master xehanort!
Why do I keep seeing comments saying Kairi is useless?! She kept Sora from fading away and because of that, he ended up in the Final World. If it weren’t for her, Sora would’ve perished.
@@c-cupp7 people say those things because if one character dont punch in the face so many times in a story is basically useless, but well. People can say whatever they want, for me Kairi is a good character :)
@@albertosalguero9497 A good character can become useless through inept storytelling. I have a feeling that most people calling Kairi useless are doing so because they wanted her to take her spot in the limelight.
I love how perfectly some of the attacks sync together And yes, I started screaming and crying like a big baby when I saw the kingdom key in a hooded person's hand.
After watching and listening closely, I realized that you timed the scene as close to the music as possible. And I was truly mesmerized by that. Not to mention how many times you have to repeat this battle and how many hours gone by just to get that moment. You are one dedicated and earnest player. You have once again blow our minds. Praise Everglow!
Thanks, montages like this were always in my mind and I wanted to see people's reactions starting with KH3. It would have been easier if Sora wasn't overpowered and/or the enemy had more HP bars!
Everglow Well, technically, they already have more then enough HP. Sure they hit hard, but experienced players could've easily handle that and still wipe the floor with them. But, like, they have really horrible defense, so what's the point to that long HP bars? For decoration purpose? Are they really that hella weak? Not to mention that supporting party members could even actually deal decent damage (and practically immortal in this case, I'm looking at you, Roxas), which is, let's be frank, actually cooler than KHII. As you said it on other comment even Roxas alone could end the battle and you just have to dance around and spamming cure. So, you don't actually have to worry about game over? What's the point to that? I mean, it's aesthetically beautiful being revenge and all, but still. TL;DR they really should consider it carefully when making an epic boss fight.
Hands down, this is the best rearrangement out of all pieces in KH3. Heck, I don't even love the Oscurità di Xehanort as much as I love this one. It turns the shackles of guilt, pain and confusion that Xion, Roxas and Lea/Axel had to carry into a powerful melody filled with resolve and the immense strength of bonds and will to overcome the fate. I still think it'd actually be much more impactful, if it was both Saix and Xemnas that'd participate in this battle against Xion, Roxas and Lea. I get that Sora's strength, which is the "connection" is a core to what brought back Roxas, and to which he is involved and carries everyone's pain, but there's only so much it can do. It's a proxy, so it shouldn't take the chance for especially Lea to help bring his childhood friend back to his senses, and Roxas(would be dope for him to be playable for this segment) to finally confront Xemnas and pay him back for everything. It's not a matter of revenge, it's a matter of resolution.
What an epic moment!!! Axel, Xion and my dear Roxas reunited!!! I cried, I really cried with that scene, and my heart was just jumping inside me... Thanks, Marco, for this epic video with this epic music and this epic battle. ❤❤❤❤❤
I love the editing you've done with this, timing the cinematics with the music! It gave me goosebumps. I admit that I took selfies alot during these fights. And Kairi does look super cute fighting with Sora!
That Organization XIII part of the song feels so heavy, it sounds like everything is falling apart. Really makes you think about how Isa feels in this battle.
This scene was truly remarkable but I wish they made more emotionally impactful for Xion and showing Roxas through Sora when saying "its ok..Xion" and more flash backs of memories of her started going through Roxas and Axel/Lea at the same time
lashawn robley they might have omitted the emo flashbacks in favor of maintaining the flow of the scene. If they showed it all in detail, there probably be a scene showing the part of Xion in Sora taking control of the enemy Xion. Maybe a scene in Sora’s heart showing Roxas saying it’s time for him to go. Etc.
That's because Roxas has infinite HP, you see his icon show that he takes damage, but his HP doesn't decrease, Roxas is pissed and he's on a rampage against Saix.
@@gamerprince-tl5hg simple. nomura gave roxas invincibility and insane damage because he knows 90% of the player base who have emotions will be unable to play this boss fight.
WTFareyou17 I played the game at level 1 and the tip that popped up when I died on this fight says that while Roxas has light surrounding him he doesn't take damage.
I pretty much went ham on Saïx when Roxas and Xion were both in my party. Like "Oh, so we got Roxas back, ready to take revenge on Org. XIII and Xion wanting to prove how much she had come to be through Sora's memories. Now *_THIS_* is what I call a combo! Roxas, Xion, let's get what's ours!"
I hope they put in the plethora of cutscene-only tracks when they release the soundtrack. The snippet of "Darkness of the Unknown" when Lea stands up to Xemnas was amazing.
Oh God yes, I hope so too. The way it moved to this song from the cutscene soundtrack was just absolutely brilliant and made the first few notes of this theme feel even more impactful.
I dont normally comment on videos but this one deserves it! Thankyou so much for this and you definitely went above and beyond for syncing up keyblade transformations and finishers with the music! Definitely looking forward to more tracks 😍
It wasn't Xion crying after Roxas called out to her that broke me. It was Xion crying after she couldn't hold it together anymore, after all the torment & trials she went through. The first scene since I played this game that made me cry. Guess I...shoulda brought some ice cream. 358/2 Days will always hold a special place in my heart.
Ok, I'll say it since no one else did. I really like how you synced up the video with the audio. How the moves and actions are spot on with the rythm and sounds of the music
These three have suffered enough, let them have the last laugh. And let them have their first good, wholesome, joyous cry. Knowing that they're back together was all I needed to be satisfied, that and the wayfinder trio as well, but the nobody trio was such a wonderful surprise that still makes me happy.
These are honestly my favorite scenes in this game. With the exception of the part with Kairi, they are sheer perfection. I've always loved RXA, and Xemnas is by far my favorite villain and competes as my favorite character.
I just want to remind you, people that don't know anything about this game, That this masterpiece is in the same game where donald and goofy are part of the lore
I just find it extremely hilarious that the moment gets tense and Axel is about to be slain by the hands of Xion, with Xemnas and Saix watching from behind... *WHEN SUDDENLY,* Sora walks up without retaliation from Xemnas, Saix or even a notice from Xion, and just grabs her keyblade.
Roxas' pure strength is hardcore taking like half of health bar with just one hit, attacking super fast, and looking awesome while doing it. He's so cool.
Omg this entire scene was so marvelous. Roxas, Xion, and Axel all having their heartfelt reunion Sora and Kairi joining in the fight Xemnas ❤️💜🥰💋💁🏿♂️ And of course Terra, Aqua, and Ventus’ reunion. So many feelings
God, they made The Other Promise sound so triumphant and grandiose. Not to mention Vector to the Heavens sounds absolutely beautiful. I absolutely LOVE this track.
This is by far my favorite part of the ending, this was just so emotional to me, and it played out perfectly. I also want to say that this video edit is awesome! The way the visual cues hit on the climactic music parts is perfection!
Man this was the best scene and battle of the game. Roxas theme build up into Xion and Vector to the Heavens was perfection. Then playing alongside Xion and Roxas..
I liked the transitions they made with the other promise and vector to the heavens combining both tracks to make powerful music together just sounds amazing. First you hear Roxas theme then it transitions to Xion and back to Roxas and so on so forth. Just amazing.
This medley of both Roxas and Xions themes is SO GODDAMN POWERFUL. I literally can not turn it up loud enough. I hear all the sadness and rage and loss in this music. But Yoko expertly transposed the songs to bring the feelings of drama and adventure and the chaos of battle all into one unit. The way the first beat of the second sentence of Roxas' theme cuts off with that bass drum hit physically feels like I've had everything taken from me. Then when the low brass comes in loud hectic as hell on top of the orchestra, it takes it all to a frantic level. Sora by his sacrifice gave birth to new life in Xion and Roxas. It's almost as if Sora is a type of Adam figure in that sense. And despite being made up of Soras body and memories, Roxas and Xion both became such distinct lovable characters despite knowing they live in Soras shadow, despite being told they are nothing by the Organization. They made it through all of that and now get to be their own person for sure now. It's a story of faith, friendship, anger, sadness and loss all wrapped up wonderfully by Yoko and honestly without her I don't think Kingdom Hearts would have gotten as far as it has. Thanks for uploading 💜💜💜
Trully, it takes having played (not watched) Days to appreciate this moment to it's fullest. (Which means next to nobody will because of the flipping HD Cutscenes instead of proper remake, but I've learned not to expect Osaka to live up to the hype when it comes to stuff other teams started)
