the person is forgotten,not the events. people would remember some dude standing on air,xions attacks and weird darknesseffects coming out of nowhere and then air literally cracking and the dude falling down

Everglow did a KH2 mod for Days and it looks amazing. If Square decided to Remaster days like that. And remaster Re:coded into a BBS style.

Just take out the online mode and it would be great.

I'd be happy with KHII graphics. The flat colours and strong sense of style allow them to still look really good at 4K. I just want to play this game with a full controller. I've mapped the camera to my right stick by emulating the mouse on the touch "screen", but it doesn't work well as the motions a stick make do not map well to stylus use.

F to my 2DS I thought it was just en emulation thing, but once I got to play this game on my 2DS it was real.

Holy shit. I’ve never seen that cutscene before in the HD remake! When I watched it, it went from the “I’m out of time” cutscene to where Xion is dying and turning into ice.

Really my only complaint is that whenever she uses ragnarok the game slows down and she can get spammy with it. A remake could've fixed that. A remake could've fixed a lot of things.

I totally agree with you. I might be influenced ad it has been my first kh game...but that's one of the best boss battles in Kingdom Hearts...and also one of the more suggestive and sad

I'm really glad I'm not the only one who feels this way. Days is a very special game to me, and even through it probably has one of the poorest KH gameplay experiences on an average playthrough, the relationship at the center of the game (That of Roxas, Xion, and Axel) is still one of my favorite stories within the larger KH narrative, and the bosses plus story missions that accompany them are some of the best in the series. One of my biggest hopes is that maybe one day Square will do a full-on remake of this game that cuts out the bullshit and puts a bit more thought into the core game mechanics, with emphasis on the things that the original did right. Because imo Days doesn't deserve to be remembered as the worst game in the franchise, since (at least to me) it has one of the most impactful stories in the whole series (blows BBS out of the water by FAR, and I'm not taking that back) and made some additions to the series formula that I wish one day get brought back for future titles, like Mission Mode, and the ability to fully customize your loadout both ability and stat wise. Damn, I love this game, and it breaks my heart that it gets so much scorn by the fanbase.

@@mega20able Well, KH fans aren't the most rational type. Days was one of my favorite games ever when I was growing up, pretty much for the same reasons as you did. The gameplay, aside from some specific moments, was largely forgettable, but the (more cohesive than normal) narrative and characterization was miles ahead of other games in the series. And that's super impressive considering this game was on the DS. I think the reason the worldbuilding stood out is because it actually closed threads instead of just opening them up. KH has a huge problem in it's storytelling where it subsides on creating constant story beats without ever giving them a proper, cohesive ending - and when that ending does come, it's usually unsatisfying or cheap (see Xehanort Saga). Which isn't to say that's inherently a bad thing, but when they keep doing it over and over and over again, the cracks start to show and it's tiring and lazy. BBS may have added a ton of worldbuilding, but still had the same lack of closure. Unlike its predecessors, Days actually answered more questions than it raised, and fans learned more about the inner workings of the Organization and the various motives of the characters, while providing a great character arc that had a proper, emotional ending. That's why it stands out to me.

The game is really fun,just the missions were repeated near the end,and most bosses were crap(aside from Xion,Riku and the sand boss thing that Axel keeps occupied for a while,the others were either meh or time wasters).Mission mode with Multiplayer makes those missions so much more fun to play,though. Shame the Ds online wasn't recreated on the 3ds.Now we can play this only by using some Melon emulator...

This game is my favourite of the portable KH titles and really helped me understand KH2 a bit more as I'd played this long before KH2 but i loved every minute of it and still play it to this day

I feel like a better plot for kh2 would be this, and this is just my opinion of course. Scrap chain of memories because it's almost completely useless and sora donald and goofy don't even remember it. this also means that the entirety of the orginization will still be alive and will be fought in Kh2 358/2 days will instead take place between kh1 and 2 so we get to know roxas before hand. at the start of 2, Roxas has just lost Xion and he does remember her. I think Xion's death would be a good driving force for Roxas in this, so the whole Idea of Xion being a replica and all and roxas not remembering her doesn't really work in my opinion. It would be better in my opinion to just have Xion as another regular organization member whom Roxas and Axel formed a bond with. (Obviously the story of 358 would be changed to accomidate this) Roxas is devastated and, without thinking, uses his organization portal powers to head to the world that never was to confront Xemnas. you play a boss but it's one of those fake bosses that you can't possibly defeat. Roxas gets his ass kicked and Xemnas takes away his portal power and flings him across space. Roxas wakes up, dizzy, in Hollow Bastion. Roxas, who was found by Merlin found and put in his house runs into Squall, Yuffie and the gang. they tell him about how he arrived there and he starts to remember and roxas makes a meta joke about Squall's name and he gets slightly annoyed. the gang who saw Roxas' keyblade and organization coat and realize he must be sora's nobody while he was knocked out, tell him that he should find him, donald and goofy. he talks about how they travel to different worlds to rid them of the heartless. They give Roxas they're old Gummi ship and bid him farewell. Roxas wonders why they were being so nice to him. in a later cutscene it is revealed that the organization attacked hollow bastion one time. when the group sees roxas, leon says that he is one of them. but aerith sees his keyblade and physical resemblence to sora and tells him that roxas must be the nobody of sora. and thats why they helped roxas and gave him the gummi ship. Roxas flies away in the gummi ship and that's when you see the Kingdom Hearts 2 title card. you see our familliar heroes following pluto after the events of the first game. pluto leads them to Disney castle and he gives them the note from king mickey. Sora reads the note. its about the current situation. there are new threats that they weren't aware of and the note says to go to twilight town to find mickey's old mentor. they take a spare gummi ship and head there. all the usual events occur until they start going to the disney worlds. at the land of dragons sora and roxas meet and they decide to team up. For this game the main focuses of the story will be roxas feeling regret and sorrow over Xion and wanting to amend his mistakes, Sora, Donald and Goofy looking for their friends, and Roxas and Sora's budding friendship. throughout the game there will be interactions between the two of them getting to know each other better and them, as time progresses, becoming more comfortable and trusting with each other. all of this will lead to a payoff at the end of the game. the whole game continues as normal only with roxas tagging along. throught the game roxas is also a playable character whom you can switch with at any point in the game. You will also fight zexion, vexen, larxene, xaldin, demyx and marluxia in the various worlds. once the group heads back to hollow bastion, after the 1000 heartless fight. leon finally tells sora and roxas about their connection and how roxas is sora's nobody. this might seem kinda fanficky but maybe when sora split himself and roxas was created, the keyblade split too and that's how Roxas has a different keyblade. you proceed through the second waave of disney worlds and head back to twilight town. It is revealed that Xemnas manipulated Axel to think that Roxas maliciously murdered Xion and that he is the bad guy in all of this. instead of that nobody fight just before you reach TWTNW, it's a fight against axel as roxas. Axel dies in an emotional moment. Roxas explains that he never wanted to hurt xion or him. axel's last words are "okay. I believe you buddy. I believe you." The game continues as normal. riku kairi and sora reunite minus the whole riku looking like ansem thing. sora introduces them to roxas, they fight the other luxord, saix and xemnas, kairi, donald, goofy and Mickey head home, and the final battle against Xemnas starts. after defeating Xemnas the three end up in the realm of darkness and they find the note and the door to light appears. Riku goes in but Sora sees Roxas waliking away aimlessly. Sora asks where he's going and Roxas says he has no idea. he doesn't have a place to go. Sora tells him to stay with them on Destiny Islands. Roxas scoffs. Sora explains that Roxas is a good person and if he had one, he'd have a good heart. he deserves to have a home and to have friends. roxas starts crying and hugs sora and enters the portal with Sora. they make it back home and the game ends. Anyway, thats my idea of improving kh2's story. I might have just wasted your time but this seems good to me.

Roxas had just betrayed the organization and Axel has always been the one Xemnas sent to deal with traitors (in fact the next time he meet Axel in KH2 they fight) so at this point, Roxas is all alone. Plus for Roxas eating ice cream and chilling together is what friendship is. He doesn't know any other way at this point.

You can upscale it with an emulator. Actually your can also stretch for widescale AND do picture in picture to put the bottom screen as a mini-map up too!

they wanted to do that, but they also really wanted to get the HD remixes out of the way so they could get to work on KH3 sooner, and work-wise remaking the DS games would be a complete time-consuming overhaul

I remember there was a fan group actually doing that, switching the models in KH2. I don't remember if they finished it or not.

Recoded honestly is the most impressive game on the ds I was blown away we how well they game looks and runs You can tell they learned from the mistakes in this game going into recoded

Late response, but it's because of the devices you set up in prior missions at the locations you get teleported to in this fight.

Xion transformed into an approximation of Sora - and thusly, has some of his attacks, like Thunder and Ragnarok and Ars Arcanum - because while he sleeps during this game and the beginning of KH2, Xion holds all of Sora’s memories.

@@Jac-Man yeah I remember that, as that was part of Xemnas's plan was to keep Sora from waking by having Xion around. But I am still wondering why she had the armor variation, but neither Sora nor Roxas does. I thought maybe it was because they were not formally trained. But to my knowledge we never see Mickey having armor either.

@@marianto2341 It's been a little while since I've brushed up on the lore, but I'm pretty sure that's the gist, yeah. Roxas set up the devices in Wonderland, Halloween Town, and Agrabah, and they absorbed Sora/Roxas's power, which was why Roxas was feeling weaker while Xion was getting stronger. It was less of a matter of her summoning armour, and more of an actual transformation that just so happened to resemble keyblade armour.

358/2 Days: Story: A+ Gameplay: C- Re: Coded: Story: C Gameplay: A So yeah. If you've already seen the hd cutscenes, then I don't think days is really worth the money. If you want more insight to the story, watch the days section of Everglow's kh timeline series on RU-vid. They did a fantastic job. I absolutely recommend Re: Coded, my third favourite game gameplay-wise behind kh2 and kh3. But obviously, the story really isn't that great.

So kh 358/2 days would be a game worth buying while recoded is just a load of shit but I guess it can still be fun to play. All in all get kh 358/2 days

I think the 3rd phase is a lot more heal-happy than the 1st and 2nd phases are, but that doesn't matter to WillJV2 as he just interrupts every heal attempt anyway.
