Kingdom Hearts 4 Has A Release Window 

I’ll wait for as long as it takes as I know Nomura will do everything in his power to make sure that kingdom hearts 4 is a masterpiece. Let your heart be your guiding key.

I don’t mind waiting to be honest because I can’t afford a PS5 nor a Nintendo Switch 2 right now. Besides, I’m more hyped for Missing-Link at the moment.

we were waiting 15 years for kingdom hearts 3 or longer,so if we have to wait alittle longer for kingdom hearts 4,then that's fine,long as we don't have to wait 20 years for it

Looking back, I think the reveal in 2022 - in addition to wanting something substantial for the 20th anniversary - was mainly because the NVIDIA leak forced their hand into announcing that KH4 is a real game. I'm totally fine waiting until 2026.

I love kh fans. All the modding and passion is awesome, but idk why kh fans expect anything different. I follow many industry leaks, but in regards to KH... until I see the date released, I don't put stock in any of it.

2026 is when I thought it would be coming tbh. When they made the KH4 trailer they told us that they had just started development around that time. So 2022 + 4 years = 2026.

I’m fine considering we’ll probably have the mobile game coming out hopefully within the next three months to hold us over until the actual release date for the game

Sadly from how i understand it…these super early reveal trailers we get for games that have years of development left have a lot to do with a call to arms to bring in developers for the project. Though it has us drooling it’s not totally meant for the average consumer as much as it is for advertising jobs for the project

If we want to compare it to a similar stage for KH3, we are at the 2017 stage, which was the year we heard stuff again after hearing pretty much nothing post E3 2015. I do really think we’ll get something at Gamescom, TGS, or D23

If it’s early 2026,then it’s fine because they can take most of 2025 to promote kh4,we have kh missing link to hold us over until then.

It's funny I'm more anticipating this weeks' KH Re-Release on Steam than KHIV news, not that I'm not looking forward to it but I'm content with waiting which is definitely something I couldn't say waiting on KH3 initially. I just hope the rereveal is worth the wait it's been so far, it's kind of crazy it's still been a few years since that announcement.

So the issue i believe caused why kh4 is in 2026 is most likely due to the engine. They went from unreal engine 4 to the new unreal engine which isnt a seemless switch. Itll take time to learn.

If KH4 really is coming in 2026, then this will only be a year shorter than the wait for KH3.

It does seem like Square has changed their strategy, when it comes to promoting their games. Final Fantasy XVI was announced in 2020, but Square held off starting the main promotion until 2022, a year out from release. Rebirth was announced in 2022, but again Square held off starting the main promotion until 2023, a year out from release. Compare that to all of the drip feeding we got with KH3's promotion from 2013-2019. If we don't get a new KH4 trailer at D23, then I think there's a very real chance Square won't kickstart KH4's promotion until next year. Though after waiting over 2 years, it would be really nice to get any sort of update.

I have an idea of a main-line kingdom hearts game have CAC and create our own keyblade available and throughout the story we can learn abilities (stats and magic) and keyblade technique from Riku, Terra etc. and they could put the ancient keyblade wielders as the main antagonist for us to fight while reuniting everyone with Sora. And on the final mission have us the player go out with a blaze of glory (This comment was inspired by a video game called Attack on Titan 2 with the story and the final mission)

Considering that nomura likes everything perfect, it'd make sense if he kept it at 2026 or delayed it farther. It would have to be absolutely amazing for it to be worth it.

Considering recent news, are you going to make a follow up on this? Looks like MysticDistance (Midori's other account) falsified information meaning it's absolutely possible KH4 is next year.

I feel it’s going to be 2027 it’s the 25th anniversary and I think Missing Link will have us busy longer then 2 years for KH4 but we might get another Kingdom Hearts game next year that opens the road to KH4

Honestly i dont have a problem at all with a 2026 release. KH fans are nothing if not resilient, 2026 feels like a pretty solid amount of time to wait for a game like this. After all we dont want it to be rushed right. I do hope we get some official confirmation of it though, or any news at all officially.

If they at least trickled some info or a couple more WIP clips to keep the hype up then i wouldnt mind how early they announce & tease titles. Ngl. These leaks are gonna make Nomura mad if they're true, especially if people report on them. Nomura had a big spat about not wanting to do worldwide releases again if people kept leaking info and spoiling stuff before the release. Not that I have anything against Skyward, or other people in the influencer KH community, but yikes, Nomura is gonna be flipping his lid eventually lol. Also, 2026? Yeah seems realistic, but I'll wait for something official to announced.

Been to be honest this game is giving us the GTA 6 treatment just probably not going not going to be that long compared to how long GTA 6 was in development for but still we pretty much are again the GTA 6 treatment with Kingdom hearts 4

Assuming it is going to release in 2026, it would make a 7 year gap between kh3 and kh4, and a 13 year gap between kh2 and kh3, leaving a grand total of 20 years. Like 20 locks on the black box and 20 total seekers of darkness and guardians of light.

Release window is just right. Enough time to get the content of the base game feature complete from launch (not stilted like KH3's). Plus they avoid the overwhelming shadow GTA 6 will cast in Fall 2025. And that's not to mention Monster Hunter Wilds, Death Stranding 2, and the mountain of big 2025 titles just announced at Xbox's showcase. KH4 dodged a slew of bullets 😅😂. Let it cook 👌🏿 and have a chance for exposure to new audiences that aren't too distracted by other huge games.

Whos eagerly waiting for the useless mobile port thats going to have more questions than answers. Im disappointed mobile games are not that popular square thinks it is. Its their fault that their sales plummet. We could've had birth by sleep 2, 358/2 days 2 or heck even a dream drop distance 2. We have these characters back and we cant play as them. Like come on dude. It wouldve helped propel the story.
