Absolutely agree. I had gotten it for my birthday, had no idea the second one was even a thing. Playing as Arica’s was so awesome and hearing this really set the stage.
The ever present snare in the original versions is what makes it so intense for me. Its seems the remixes tried to pack as many instruments as possible in. Simplicity is sometimes better.
It is kinda shame that KH doesn't have more tracks like this. I know a lot of orchestral pieces have some intensive beats and all but this is somewhat more "raw" in its melody and intensivity. It resembles Yoko's work on some other brands (like boss theme from Legends of Mana). While her battle themes in KH series are good, they are perhaps too ambientic for my tastes. This also kinda juxtaposes Disney's more rounded thematic, which is plus.
I think another good intense/raw boss theme similar to this on a game that Yoko worked on was Xenoblade 1, it's main boss theme (One who gets in our way/an obstacle in our path) is also one of the more intense/dire boss themes I've heard and it's really good, I'd recommend it if you're looking for something more like that
When I first played Kingdom Hearts II, I was just starting middle school. This and Dance to the Death were my favorite tracks. But haven't played it since then as I borrowed it from one of my cousins. When I finally revisited the game a few months ago through 1.5+2.5, I was actually confused because I remembered it sounding different. For some reason, it never crossed my mind that the soundtrack would be remixed for the remaster.
World: Resident Evil 5 Scene: Sora, Donald, Goofy, Chris Redfield and Sheva Alomar going after Irving at the boat. *Everybody gets atop the boat* Sora: *Readies his keyblade, pointing at him* It's all over, Irving. Irving: Won't you fools just die already?! You're making me look bad. Donald: Says you... Irving: Who do you think funded this entire operation underground? Research like this doesn't fund itself, you know. Yet everyone looks down on me...*Pulls out something from his left hand* Goofy: *Look a bit strange seeing the item in Irving's hand and looks to Donald* Gawrsh...what's that? Donald: *Looks at Goofy with a shrug* Irving: But not anymore... Sheva: Don't do it! Irving: *Cackles as he injects himself with some virus weapon thing as he writhes in pain* Donald and Goofy: *Looks in a bit of shock* (Theme plays as soon as what appears to be tentacles popping out of Irving's back) Irving battle dialogue before start: I'm far from anything you could ever become! Objective: Defeat mutated Irving with the help of Chris and Sheva. Objective #2: As soon as it comes ready to strike, use to stun it for a bit and attack while its defenses are down. Objective #3: Be careful of using the machine gun turrets. If overheated for a specific period of time, you won't be able to access it. The battle also ends if Sheva and Chris take a good amount of damage against Irving. Irving after defeat: Damn, Excella!
There's something "the pot bubbles over" about the 0:44 part. I guess that's about how much it'll take for the tension to turn into either you or your opponent getting clowned.
Shut up. Kh3 had mostly huge boss fights and they sucked. Also how about the big bird in the land of dragons or the experiment or the other fight in Halloween town or genie Jafar or the huge battle versus no heart or cerebrus or that big thing in the pride lands
Though i generally think this version is better after hearing getting used to the HD remix versions for years i kinda think this version is missing something idk what I also think the hd version is missing things but those are different things Edit: i found a version (remix?) Thanks for the extended music, but to be honest, in my personal opinion, 30min music is the best! I miss brawlBRSTMs5, his RU-vid account is now suspended & he has the longest music by far, but this will have to do for now.
@MrHeavyweapop There's not just one it comes after learning about societies such as freemasonry hermeticisim occult symbolism and then you just put it all together remembering the symbolism such as stained glass in dive to the heart dark paths such as Riku eternal light dark ears etc and themes you've seen as a child that matured since you've become an adult

ISTG I was searching for a Castlevania song that starts like this song because it lived in my head rent free for months and I was confident it existed and now that I've found this, idfk! Is this one of two songs that start with that sick piano riff? I get the orchestral appeal of tge remake but this one kinda has a SNES Music Charm that I prefer on it's own. I never played the game though so I can't say which is more fitting

It's annoying how kids learn about Kingdom Hearts from the Game which doesn't do anything about inappropriate stuff on their site unless Ruben Sim points it out wide open for them.
