'Kingdom of the Planet of the Apes' Rules the Weekend with a $56M Opening 

Thank you, as always, for the weekend box office breakdown.

I think we should look at this another way -- a feature film bubble burst, like housing and financial markets in 2007, and this is sort of the best of what's remaining. To go at this thinking endless growth is inevitable sounds like madness.

All of this just sounds depressing. Not sure how theater movie going Industry is gonna. I look forward to the 1999 releases. Matrix or Sixth Sense might be cool to see on the big screen again.That was an amazing year all around.

Good to know that the younger audience is looking forward to some scripted content. Looking pretty buff too, might give young Bill Scurry a run for his money! Will give "KIngdom" a look, have enjoyed the franchise overall.

Deadpool and wolverine 185M+ opening easily

Apes went off!!! Movie was good kinda slow and long.

These Apes movies are starting to blend together. The lack of a distinct notable human character played by a name actor doesn't help. I don't remember the last one. I remember a woody Harrelson one. I remember the tim Burton more distinctly.

Saw Star Wars Episode one instead for Mothers Day. It was awesome. Watched Apes last week. It was incredibly mid, and crappy. Ceaser dominates Noah in every way. Imho. They didn't do enough to establish Noah as a cool person to root for. Waste of time, too many Apes, not enough Humans.

The last three planet of the apes movies,, were excellent. So I look forward to seeing this new planet of the apes movie. Although I do, hope they bring in the time traveling aspects of the original 1968 films (But let’s take it maybe 800 to 1000 years into the future). For example,, in the next film, it would be great if they brought in the telepathic human from the original films. These telepathic humans a worshiped a nuclear device. It would be great to learn how they became telepath,,, and where they got the nuclear device from. Then,,, in the third film of this new trilogy,, they should introduce the time traveling astronauts. And blend the time traveling astronaut with the telepathic human characters. Now that would be great sci-fi. What do you think? Humans running from apes every movie,, that can get to be a bit boring and predictable.

Iam suprised by Planet of the apes opening weekend. I expected less 🫠 56 is not bad, at all.
