Kingdoms and Castles (2021) - Endless Stronghold Siege Defense

I liked Kingdoms and Castles quite a lot, but the fact it was strictly just building a base (albeit one of the better indie games I've played at that very specific thing) with diminishing returns once the castle is reasonably self-sufficient killed its replay value for me. Depth via diplomacy and better trade mechanics are definitely going to bring me back to it!

Kingdoms and Castles just keeps bringing me back every update they've crafted one of the best city sims

Love this game. Have "beaten" this game multiple times. "beaten" meaning over 2k pop with high tax and walls fully sorounding the island.

In the case of the charcoal burners is not a matter of "it smells bad" or "is frowned upon" but of practicality and logistics (same with ore processing). Charcoal consumes a lot of the weight of wood so is cheaper to haul the charcoal than the wood. Charcoal burners would usually mount temporary camps in which they dig dirt pits to fill with fresh wood, which then proceed to cover with clay (if it was available nearby) or packed dirt (if it wasn't) and lit on fire. Once the fires went out, they dug the pits and some carried the charcoal back to town, while some moved the camp to another area.

Speaking of dragons and their love of architecture, that's why we started building gazebos. The dragons would become so fascinated trying to figure out what the point was they'd forget to burn your wheat fields! This has been fun fact science corner.

Man this reminds me how much I would love a very detailed castle-builder/siege game. Some castles were quite small, but cleverly constructed in a way that made them pretty much impossible to take by storm. Stuff like gatehouses with multiple gates, towers protruding from the wall to allow attacking the sides of people trying to climb the walls, sharp turns inside the structures to make bringing a ram to batter down strong doors impossible, etc. Castle architects were smart people. Most games sadly are use very simplistic structures when it comes to what you can build. They usually dont really care about the insides of towers or multiple gates for example. A game that makes every staircase and every door feel like an obstacle, now that would be my jam. ^^

This game is brilliant. I'd love it if there were an option to build multiple maps and trade with each other, as well as more enemy types.

You played by yourself! :D You have to click on the banner of the other faction in the menu for them to be spawned in the map. You can also drag the banner of the AI Player to different islands after to set their starting point. Enjoyed the video none the less :)

Even if there are viking raids and dragons attacks I find this game relaxing, maybe it's the charming and simple graphics, I also like to see you cover it because of how you build your kingdom.

Put a windmill in the middle of the farmland (in the middle of a 3x3) Don't enclose your castle with roads coz u can extend it and make it bigger when u attach other buildings Your rivals are in the grey islands, you need an exploration ship to go there hehehe

Spend hours in this one. Simple and great to play, also is nice to have an win option that you get an unbeatble city.

Fun fact about making charcoal, the smoke that comes from it is quite painful to breathe and it feels like getting alcohol in your eyes. Personal experience talking here.

Piss has been a valuable resource for millennia. I believe there was a time when folk carried around 'piss pots' for other people to use. I have never seen this game before and would have liked a more 'in-depth' look at the gameplay and such.

My buddies and i have taken to getting together once a week to drink and hang out and we started watching doller tree movies, fat joe has a handful in the bin so we nabbed em and we stumbled apon one of the worst but funniest movie sets ever. Hahaha I just fired this up the other day and managed to get half the island walled and 650ish pop and yeah it was great until it bugged out and my villagers couldn't eat, starved themselves to 100 pop before I reloaded my save and then they started eating again, and I recovered slowly

On the other hand splat, taking your shoes off allows people to rub their dirty, sweaty, stinkin skin dropping feet that have been in shoes all day on your carpet. Id take a bit of dirt over or wet shoe over that anyday.
