I cannot believe that it is this time of year again. Outstanding video again CB. I am going to bottle it up and hope that opening day comes fast. I cannot believe that next month is Christmas. Thanks for sharing this Bob~ Rob/Boston
same life is flying its good but at the same time you could say it's awful. we thought 2015 went fast now were already done with 2016 personall, I will always remember this year it's the year i became a coaster enthusiast and grew a pair to ride coasters
Hey Bryce when are you going next year? I wish CF would have bought the land that Great Wolf Lodge sits on and keep it for future development/expansion, would have been a good idea!~
Wow! That music you put in when you were showing all the old rides was a great choice. Any thoughts on what's in the shed, Bob? Fantastic video like always!
Great video, as always! I got a little nostalgic during the tombstone walk- I rode the Flying Dutchmen at Kentucky Kingdom last year and remembered when my sister and I had ridden as kids in the '80s. I think I spotted a stone for Flight Deck- a bit of a cheat, there? (Please let that be a cheat, I love the Bat!)
It's cool that KI finally has a nice graveyard. I don't think that The Bat is going anywhere, they just had a marker for the retired "Flight Deck" name. Kind of funny that Top Gun isn't in there, or Tomb Raider, or Italian Job -- wonder why? :) Didn't know that Flying Dutchman was at KK - hope it's still there when I finally visit. Thanks for watching!
It was a nice last day. We got there really early and basically walked on diamondback and didn't leave until 30 minutes after the park closed. Blood drums was by far my favorite show of the year and we only got to see the end of the last show. I actually saw you, but wasn't sure if it was you so I didn't ask (oops). And they reopened bat a little later, btw. At that point it was a walk on.
There was another guy recording Blood Drums using a camcorder just like mine -- maybe that wasn't me! :D I would have liked to ride The Bat that day. It's one of my favorites.
No, infact the original was very well received within the park, however it was prone to breaking down along with various maintenance issues. It used to sit where Vortex sits now (Even share the same launch station) and some of the track used to be able to be seen on The Beast, however I'm not sure about that because I don't ride many coasters (My home park and I don;t even do 99% of the things there, I just help family carry stuff and watch the shows most of the time). What is now called the bat I believe used to be called Flight Deck, however my memory might be a bit foggy lol. It was renamed the bat mostly to honor the parks past (which isn't well documented to tell the truth) and I don't doubt to distance itself from when the park was owned by Paramount.
